Great reaction my friend! I agree--Roman's guitar tone is totally sick. Jinjer songs are as hard to count and subdivide as anything I've heard, when it comes to the time signatures, with the possible exceptions of Periphery and Animals As Leaders. These songs are COMPLICATED! And super challenging to play on any instrument. I've spent some time trying to learn Jinjer songs on bass (very difficult) which means counting out all the time signature changes. Part of the challenge is that they play across the bar all the time! Phrases and riffs start in one measure and don't finish until another, making it tricky to count. I listen for the emphasis. But they're ridiculous--like in Pisces (as best I can figure it) the chorus is one measure of 2, then a measure of 8/8, then two measures of 3/8, one measure of 4/8. Then the 2/8 riff happens again, followed by a repeat of the 8/8, 3/8, 4/8, and a final measure of 2/8. Crazy? Maybe, but it flows like liquid gold. There aren't many bands who can make a number soup like that sound natural and unforced. Jinjer does it in pretty much every song. Good luck counting them sumbitches! I'd highly recommend you check out the Jinjer playthrough videos. They're all insane, mind boggling. I just did a RU-vid search for "Jinjer playthrough" and fell headlong down the rabbit hole. The playing is SO good. The songwriting is SO amazing. I was infatuated with Tati when I first heard Pisces and I Speak Astronomy. It wasn't until I saw those playthrough videos that I knew I was in love with the whole band, it was more than infatuation lol. The whole band is so tight, so cohesive, so overwhelming together that it's hard to appreciate the brilliance of each member's contribution. Seeing it and hearing it isolated is eye opening. And they nail every note live. I've seen them twice, and I THINK I heard ONE slight imperfection, but it was so minor I'll bet nobody else noticed it. They play with the precision of classical virtuosos in an ensemble. With headbanging!

I know I'm late seeing this, but what a high quality comment to post under a reaction vid to this live capture! - kudos. :) You're right- all 4 of them are top-tier. I'm loving the composition since Vlad joined. When they go fully thru-composed like "Vortex", it's different-level stuff. p.s. I'm a lapsed bass player, & if you can hit everything Eugene hits thru this, you should be out touring with *at least* a mid-table-festival band doing the damn thing!! LOL ;)

@@d4anzig I am 61 and have been going to concerts since my teens, I had kind of given up on going to shows unless it was an older band who I have seen before and knew what to expect. Then I discovered Jinjer and shortly afterwards, The Warning, and I regained my passion for music! And fortunately for me, they are both Amazing Live! I have only seen The Warning twice but I have seen Jinjer five times so far!

Thx for the mention Tim, aren't you a sweet one! :) What comes to extreme vocals, I'd say @thefairyvoicemother has some pretty neat technical insight! I am quite new to this style of singing and I'd say clean vocals and jazz are my expertise, even though I've absolutely LOVED deep diving into the world of screams, growls and grunts! Tati is a vocal acrobat for sure!

I'm not fond of growl, especially female growl, but here I even like it. And the music is very cool. Will you also record a reaction to two Polish bands? First: The Sixpounder song "Life Is Killing Me" and "Monsters". Second: Moyra : "Unleashed Spirit" Greetings from Poland 😊🙌 PS You have a beautiful wonderful voice

It's easier to understand female harsh vocalists, simply because they automatically have higher pitched voices. Male harsh vocalists often get too low for comprehension. However, I don't think it matters. In rock music, lyrics aren't important at all really, like they are in country or rap.
