If you mean business then RST’s Pro Series Ranger suit could be just what you want. It’s RST’s most advanced textile suit ever, with fine control to suit a wide range of conditions from cold to hot, wet to dry.
A tough outer layer is peppered with high-breathing vents, but you can zip them shut in the cold and add a supplied thermal layer underneath when it’s cold. The jacket’s wamth layer can then come out and be your casual jacket in the evening.

I had a Weise jacket that featured large mesh ventilation pockets just like that.

A lot of thought has gone into the jacket i could never understand the sizing adjustment strsp closing the arm zip... I like the unzipping and folding in the chest pocket to reveal a mesh like ventilation

What rider airbag system would you recommend with this jacket? Thanks.

Any airbag will work, but RST use the In&motion system when integrating into their jackets so I would be more confident it would work with an In&motion system. You can choose vests from Klim, Held, Ixon or Furygan, or RST have an armoured mesh under-jacket that has an In&motion airbag integrated. I've owned the Icon In&Motion vest for a while. When sizing the Ranger jacket, should you consider your chest size with the vest fitted or do the stretch panels accommodate it normally? I have an alpine stars jacket which is a little uncomfortable when riding with the airbag underneath.@@sportsbikeshop

I'd suggest fitting with the airbag underneath. It has enough stretch to cope with inflation, but you'll want to be comfortable with the vest underneath. Sizing is generous, so you may not need to go up a size to accommodate the vest.

Would the jacket be waterproof/shower proof alone?

Looks impressive. The fact the presenter is so impatient in regard to stopping and putting on the rain outer and therefore didn't wear the gear for his trip is shit in my view as he wouldn't test the gear properly before doing this review and relied on an independent reviewer for adding credibility. He has zero credibility as far as I am concerned.
