This has still so much emotion in 2021.those brave men and women how were prepared to lay down there lives for the rest off us. They will never be forgotten. They ever airbrushed the women out off the photos. Without them it would never have lasted the week. Thay was the real aim. So Eire could be declared a nation. Not as must finish the job and United the isle. R.I.P to all.

It was an amazing performance to commemorate the 1916 Rising

I'm so excited to find this video! I was visiting Dublin from the US in March 2016 & had been walking back to my AirB&B one night when I walked past the Garden of Remembrance & heard the most haunting music. I walked over & saw a group filming & was told it was for this remembrance concert. At mark 33:16 is when the beautiful music begins that I was so fortunate to watch being filmed that night! I took a short video myself & listened to that haunting music over & over again this past year.

A fantastic show, made me proud to be Irish. You'd have thought RTE would have released this on DVD (expecially given that it apparently it cost €2.5m to stage) but no. Therefore thanks so much for putting it up here, if only is was in HD too.

Simply awesome. From the sets to the artists. Incredible and powerful show. Well done RTE.

I loved most of it until the end. It looked like they were half way through and realized they were out of money. But for the first 50 minutes it was absolutely amazing.

This weekend (Easter 2017) it will mark the 1 Year anniversery since the Centenery commerations over the Easter weekend last year!

The was an amazing concert and this recording that should be better known. Everything was good but there are some exceptional parts. The young people who finish off the the concert portray a confident Ireland proud of its past and moving with confidence into the future. So different from the Ireland of the 1970s and 1980s I grew up in.

Have literally been searching for the full concert since September, thanks so much for uploading it!

Straight to a heart that cannot be appeased by the righteous of the cause but for the future of our childern and forbearers easier to bear.

Does anyone know the name of the music (and its composer) used during the reading of the Proclamation? 40:02 I heard it on Radio Foyle the other day, but I didn't catch the name of it

Was the piece at 32:00 made for the show? Cant seem to find the name of it.
