This is another random tool comments video - quite long. This time it's about 4mm precision/micro bit holders and sets. I cover alot in this video - I talk about bit holders from Wiha, Wera, Beta, and others as well as sets from Wiha, Wera, Kobalt, and Walmart.
One point of info- in the video I mention there are no Y bits from Wiha - but they do have single Y screwdrivers for sale.

Dude same progression of tools here as you lol. From the Walmart to the kobalt to wiha even the Nintendo screwdriver just to get into a GameCube controller haha. I had to go to pawnshops and electronics stores finally a guy had one at a repair shop I talked into selling to me. And now I'm getting into wera

Thanks for this video. You saved me lots of time and $$$. In 2024, your video is the most detailed in comparing bit holders offered by Wiha, Kobalt, Wera, etc.

Nice video, man. You’re absolutely correct about the crappy quality of the stock bit holder on that Wiha set. Great set with a terrible bit holder. The PicoFinish bit holder is a mandatory upgrade. By the way, Wiha also sells an ESD-rated version of their PicoFinish bit holder for System 4 bits (it’s yellow/black as opposed to red/black). That’s the one that your set should really come with in order to maintain the ESD capability. 👍

Wera has MicroStix TriWing (Your Y bit ) screwdriver in 5 sizes 0 00 1 M F iPhone used M . ESD yellow colored Series is designated as 1572, green color 2072. actually it seems Wera is no longer happy to offer 4mm vario, but more on Hios HalfMoon Blade. Thus either buy screwdriver in yellow or green, price between €7-15 in Germany. Or better buy in set, those with pouch currently €35 €80; or you can opt in a €150 12 blade set in pouch. If you buy 3 screw drivers (PH000, MicroStix M & Pentalube), you can buy a full set already. Also Wera changed configurations within some existing set to reflect the needs for iPhone. FYI

Do not confuse Triwing Y bits with Microstix "trilobe" found in Apple devices you WILL strip out a Microstix with a Triwing Y bit

The "99-Piece Not-So-Common Bit Set" from Lee valley looks pretty interesting. I might have to pick it up. Can't justify the weha set for $80-$90 for my life personally, but I really like the idea of having the 99 piece for 30 ish dollars. Thanks for the video and the link 👍

What has been your experience with Wiha's small flathead bits? An area that I notice with my other kits is that the ends of small flatheads have a tendency to twist or lose their edge. I'm trying to determine if I should go with a Wiha or iFixit kit, maybe even mix and match with both because iFixit has bits that Wiha doesn't.

I've not had any issues with the Wiha straight bits in this set. The iFixit bits seem fine but in my opinion they do seem a bit lower quality but they do work.

dont know if anyone gives a shit but if you're stoned like me during the covid times you can watch pretty much all of the new series on instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf for the last few months xD

vessel has some HIOS bits but the bit holders for them are indeed hard to find I'm guessing they arent for the common joe so to speak and now I know why.... HIOS application is apparently for "power tools" there are quarter shank bit to HIOS adaptors but again... "power tools"
