Biscoff Buttercream
These measurements for the buttercream were enough to fill and cover this 6” (4 layer) cake;
* 750g Unsalted Butter (I use lurpak)
* 1.5kg icing sugar
* 125ml Biscoff Spread

This biscoff cake looks awesome!! Really enjoyed this step by step tutorial. Great for beginners, would love to see more baking videos, also loved the warm water on scraper technique 👍🏻 Are plastic scrapers good to use aswell?

Thank you for your feedback really appreciate it. I’m not fond of acrylic or plastic scrapers in all honesty I find they don’t give a great finish with American buttercream. I think they work better with Swiss meringue buttercream but I don’t make that.

Masha Allah looks awesome. How do you plan your timeline for all the preparation? When do you bake and assemble before actual use? I’m a beginner and would really appreciate the advice. Thank you

Thank you, I don’t really bake professionally much now but I used to work around my day job and the schedule I had back then. I would prep my buttercream a week in advance n just refrigerate it, the sponge you can make up to 2-3 days in advance and cling film it so it doesn’t dry out & assemble the day before serving at the earliest.

Hey, I tried your vanilla sponge recipe but it didn’t rise much - I used a light tsp of baking powder but not heaped as it didn’t specify. Also does the cake tin you use matter? If so could you please suggest one. X

What is the best method to store? Room temperature or fridge?😊

Store in the fridge up to one hour before you serve, then once sliced box it up in an air tight container and store at room temp

Great tutorial, but I'm disappointed that you showed off the lissie lou scraper after their silence following the escalation of violence and continuing genocide in Palestine by the occupying forces

Thanks I’m glad you like it. I actually haven’t mentioned that company at all either in the video or the caption, the showcasing of the scraper was primarily to explain my technique (of wetting the scraper first) to smooth out the buttercream. I have even linked a different generic scraper in the description incase someone wishes to purchase a metal cake scraper. Although this video was filmed prior to the killing that took place in 🇵🇸 I am no longer working with them to support on affiliate marketing and have ended all association with them. Sometimes we really need to reflect on how our disappointment could be misplaced and how our words and actions can actually distract from the cause at hand. Punishing people that aren’t directly involved in the genocide (including promoting it) isn’t helping the cause as much as some people think it might be. If it was then everyone should be condemning the Lotus Biscoff company too🤷🏽‍♀️🤦🏽‍♀️

@@roojithefoodie16 thank you for the reply. OK cool, you filmed it beforehand, makes sense, I do follow on Instagram but don't always watch everything from everyone and it's easy to miss things. Adding to your other comments, we also need to realise that calling out companies/influencers who are silent on this matter when they were not silent on other issues regards human rights is not that big a deal especially when the said companies/people were profiting from Ramadan and Eid. We can all "do our bit" as part of the BDS movement and holding people/companies accountable for their actions or lack thereof is a part of this. As far as the biscoff spread goes, I haven't needed to purchase recently but will be using my buycott app when I do

@@sm-ed3kw Personally speaking I don’t see the benefit in calling out people for their silence. My faith doesn’t teach us to vilify individuals rather give them the benefit of the doubt. We can certainly acknowledge the double standards they’re portraying in terms of inclusivity especially when they’re supporting other human rights causes. We can remove our association with them (like I have done in this particular instance). However I’m not interested in pressured advocacy especially when it boils down to sales from a business perspective. What good is their empty hearted support? I don’t know about you but for me, as a Muslim this type of behaviour derails me from prophetic teaching and often when we resort to “calling people out” there’s the danger of falling in to barbarism and the use of foul language & behaviours. I’m not saying you’re doing the above, but someone like myself who has a large following and a considerable amount of influence over a community, I feel the responsibility upon me is to share a message that will benefit others, not harm. I too am accountable to God for my actions and I refuse to call people out who are silent because I cannot control what others who will inevitably be influenced by my actions will do/say in such circumstances.
