Wow. We get 10% performance increase for the same price and the same 8 gigs of vram AND a smaller 128 bit bus. Thanks nvidia. Never in my life have i seen such a huge generational improvement in a gpu.

4060 is efficient yes, but the performance uplift is really bad

Man I wish we got a 60 class gpu that was the efficiency of the rtx 4060 and the vram amount of the rtx 3060.

Thank you TG for making these reviews on time, on the other hand it is disappointing for Nvidia that more than 7 years have passed since the 60 series and they have only gained 15 to 20fps in some games and with the dlss activated, let's hope and the 5000 series is not another disappointment

Not worth it if you wanna jump from a 2060/3060 to the 4060 just DON'T !!! if you have any GTX card series then yes do it. I think the 4060 is aimed at gamers who still use the GTX series and want to jump to a budget RTX, for me I'm very happy with my Asus Tuf Gaming RTX 3060 OC 12gb.

My RTX 3060 is still going strong. Using as a futureproof option. My previous was a GTX970. Wooh!

People should not upgrade to anything for 3-4 years so that absurd GPU prices can get down to earth. Paying 300 for previous gen perf and 1500$ to play a freaking game at 4k (4k with RT is multiple years away) is a joke. 3080 and above will last anyone for atleast 4 years with respectable settings (you can buy those at 400 usd, I got a used 3080ti for 600cad). People need to stop being Ultra setting SIMPS as the games released in the last few years suck when it comes to optimization, so bruteforcing unoptimsed crap buying a 1500$ GPU is like throwing money down the drain. (A 2000$ card will be less than half its value in 2 years like 3090ti, stop enabling nvidia/amd and being brand fanatics)

Power consumption is really low compared to 3060 still not a big uplift in performance with 4gb less vram!

Trying to decide between these two cards for my little brother. What a weird spot Nvidia put us in with the 4060 lol.

You can see the spilling in every game. It is mostly about 0.3-0.7 GB. But Hogwarts takes the cake with a whopping 1.5 Gigs extra in the Ram.(Excluding whatever happened in A Plague Tale. This seems to be some sort of game or driver issue). Though what I have to address is that the used wattage of the 4060 is >33% lower in most games. As a EU citizen that makes a huge difference.

It is a 100 dollars cheaper in Canada then what the rtx 3060 was going for last year and early this year and you can run it on a 6 pin connector with an 8 pin adapter without blowing up your psu

Test them in scenarios where more than 8GB of VRAM is required ;)

How come do you get only 45 fps on TW3 ? Is it with RT and the latest update ? I remember getting up to 50 in ultra with a poor 1660Ti back in the days.

Most people are pretty sceptical about the RTX 4060. I geniunely think it's impressive that they can achieve such improvements while using 2/3 the power consistently.

The model stop being "each new gen we'll give you more perf for the same money" to a model of "if you want more perf you pay more" hence a 1700 dll gpu

Undervolt 3060, overclock memory 1000+ = same performance like 4060 with 12GB v ram and 130-140W power consumption.

the major thing i notice here is the power consumption of rtx 4060 it is literally 50w less that rtx 3060 but only improvement in 10fps per game that is not worth it i think i should better go for rx 6700xt for the same price

I would gladly exchange 10 fps for 4Go of extra VRAM. I the next 2 years with unreal 5 games coming the VRAM will be a problem for some 8Go cards...

Protip: for people who dont know tech. Every generation until now the new x60 class card was equal to the last generation's x80 class card. Every.Single.Time. So if you want to know what the real x60 class is look at whichever card this generation matches the last gen RTX 3080. When you do that it becomes painfully obvious that the RTX 4070 is actually an RTX 4060 and that the RTX 4060 is actually an RTX 4050 or even an RTX 4040/4030. That is how much of a criminal fraud Nvidia has perpetrated on you as a consumer. They are calling a x60 class card a x70 class and charging 600$ for it instead of 300-350$ it should be selling at. You are being scammed.

Be aware! Descriptions says, that it was 3060 with 12GB VRAM and the affilite link lead to 8GB version, which has weaker core set. It's very possible that most popular 12GB version of 3060 would perform much better, than in this comparison, possibly similar to 4060.

I don't regret upgrading to a 4060 from 3060 and I can see a card like the 4060 might be better on a monitor with a higher refresh rate like 100hz due to it's capabilities to achieve close to 100 fps in game and a 3060 better with monitors around 60hz - 70hz

All of you are not counting the people that have to upgrade their power supply for the 3060 to even work..... 200watt power for a 3060 with a 600watt pcu minimum compared to a 115watt 4060 that can run on a 500watt..... and when cards go back to normal price the 4060 will be cheaper and more reliable for the low end budget, You all would care if you couldn't afford a power supply and you were like the many people that only have a prebuilt PC with a 550 watt power or less and a card less than a 3060 like a 1650 and looking to upgrade....
