@@xdreampcs8554 Absolutely! I am terrible with money and spend it on anything shiny if it will improve my life a little bit. I have seen zero reason to upgrade and am waiting for the Ryzen 8-series to see if it will be worth it then. The 5850x3d used is a better buy for gaming if the difference between 120 and 150fps in some titles are important to you.
@@xdreampcs8554 yeah 4070 ti would be perfect for 1440p...with the vram you get a lot of milage still...i dont recommend 4090 for it thou....must be a lot of bottlenecks...but it depedns on the title./..
Got a new 5900x for 25 dollars but yes i appreciate your cpu as well. At the time it was a huge upgrade with all issues solved near at launch from amd. No longer was gaming mode needed just to play games properly. It paived the way for me to enjoy a decent cpu lol. @jsonkody
Thanks for pointing that out. I found this video looking for the performance increase ill be seeing going from my current 3900x to a 7800x3d. I'm building a new system, only keeping my RTX 3070ti from my current build. It didn't even occur to me that the power draw could possibly be almost half while also giving such a big boost to fps in most scenarios.
i just did the switch 3900x => 7800x3D , main reason was i need some parts for my plex server (and the 3900x will do an amazing job for that) , but i clearly see the différence ingame with à 1440p , fps are more smooth and i can lock fps for less power consomption for uncompétive game. temps are way beter in my itx pc gaming too. not disapointed by the swap.
@@wldkhn456 yes now I will use my 7800x3d only for gaming and I took the 3900x for my server ( docker/plex/etc ). 7800x3d is more power and cost efficient for gaming in itx.
@@wldkhn456 Funnily enough the 7800x3d actually performs better at gaming than the 7900x3d, so if you're purely using a computer for gaming just go for the 7800x3d, 7900x3d would be better for streamers.
Just the video I was looking for. Just bought all the parts for a new build that will have a 7800x3d. My old system has a 3900x So I already knew the upgrade would be noticeable, but I didn't expect it to be such a big improvement, while also using essentially half the power.
@@MakeSh00t More than 100 fps in most games. In addition, the comparison was in 2k and without ray-tracing. Personally, I bought 4080 for 4k with ray-tracing and VR. 5800x3D has fewer cores and is worse for non-gaming tasks, 5900x is almost the same as 3900. 7800x3d is better, but not cheap and requires a new mobo - it's unnecessarily expensive, especially for 4k gaming. (Sorry for my English, I'm from the CIS)
3900x is still very capable, but the 4080 is almost too powerful for it. It's just hanging on trying not to bottleneck it. Maybe a 4070ti or 6700xt/6800xt would be more appropriate if you own a 3900x and only want to upgrade the GPU.
Im surprised the 3900x is still only 20 FPS behind the 7000 series. I am thinking about jist upgrading to the 4080 or 5080(whenbit comes out) on my 3900x build and was worried the CPU would bottleneck the 4080.
it was probably an all core overclock, boost uses limited cores mine runs at 4100mhz all core permanently not just temporarily boosted on limited cores
I have the Ryzen 9 5900x with a RTX 3060 and pushing 100-130 fps in 4k on Modern Warfare 2. Id like to upgrade to the Asus RTX 4080 OC edition and I have 1000 watt power supply. For 1250$ Im not sure if its worth it. I want the better fps and game in higher quality but I dont want it to bottleneck. Once I saw you playing MW2 at over 200 fps is it really worth the upgrade? I game just fine now
I'm currently running a 3900x, wondering if it is worth upgrading to the 7900x3d now and be ready for the next gen GPU's to hit? currently on a EVHA 3080 ultra hybrid
Yeah the 5800x3d probably won't be worth the upgrade from 3900x. You won't see much of a difference in games, and might actually see a decrease in performance in some non gaming tasks.
Those people dont know what they are talking about. Yea the 3900x is still an amazing cpu but you will see big gains on gaming going from 3900x to 5800x3d. 5800x3d even beats 14900k in some gaming scenarios. 4070 super is a very strong gpu so especially if you play at 1080p or even normal 1440p and you dont want to upgrade your platform then the 5800x3d is literally your savior. This cpu is the most legendary cpu ever created by amd and more people will realise it as time passes.
I LOVE AMD!!! wOw the power DRAW from 7000 series, truly innovative,..LOW POWER HIGH PERFORMACE GOOD WORK AMD😊 BUT INTEL SUCKS , TOO MUCH POWER DRAW OFCOURSE ITS FAST BEACAUSE OF ITS POWER DRAW,RELYING ON POWER DRAW,
