This is probably the only 'difficult' choice to be made in the hunt for a new graphics card. They price around the same, they perform around the same. AMD has 24GB of VRam over 16GB on the Super. It might matter in 4 years, it might not.The Super has RT flex and with UE 5 nanite baking RT features in to a lot of titles, it might matter in 4 years, it might not I have the 7900XTX but if I had to choose today, not sure what one I would pick.
yea man know what you mean but i think the 24 gb is more futre proof to use for the long run im planinig to build me a new setup i gone get my self a amd card becose its cheheper for more but both are great cards
I am a budget gaming guy, but based on what I've seen over the last few years, NVIDIA is more likely to add new features that aren't supported on the prior generations, whereas AMD will try to backdate as much as possible through drivers and such. So an RX 7xxx will have more of the feature set of an RX 8xxx than an RTX 4xxx will have from an RTX 5xxx. I am no expert, but it seems that way to me.
The issue here is that vram may help in the long run, but in 4-5 years both cards will struggle in the other aspects to have a a great gameplay. For instance the 1080ti has 11gb ram, compared to the 4060 with 8gb. 4060 runs a bit better. I would say get the cheaper one, or get the one that fit your needs in performance, cooling, noise and heat. You will probably be upgrading before 5 years
@@videosuu300 what... a new gpu every 2 years .... a new updated console to keep up every 4???? i'm not upgrading blah blah blah blah........... naw... i'm upgrading. I WANT IT ALL
Let's be honest in raster they both have playable framerates so it's mostly about if the ~15% higher power consumption of the XTX matters on your power bill
I have a 4080 super and overall my only complaint is with the price Nvidia is charging for this card it should have at least had 20gigs of VRAM 16 is to small for the price with 20 gig the gap between the 4080 and 4090 wouldn’t be as large but it wouldn’t really jeopardize 4090 sales as there are people who will still want the best card even if they have to sell a kidney to get one😅
Totally agree, albeit not just 4080S all Nvidia cards need 2 b say 70% the price they r sold right now. The Ampere gen was the 1 that started this notorious pricing and its so unbelievable that despite su h prices many still are buying these Nvidias
Fan fact you can make 4080 super beat 7900xtx in raster in any game cause it overclocks like a beast.. (At least mine does that if not every model )I overclocked mine to almost 3k mhz (+265 core and + 1500 memory) with pl limits off so yea. You just cant do that on a 7900xtx in that degree
Wow! Just shocking! In times when everyone does the opposite downvolting - this guy tells how cool it is to overclock video cards that are already overclocked from the factory. And please note that due to the larger amount of video memory, the 7900 XTX will show itself better in 4K resolution, and at the same time have greater potential for the future. And a similar situation has been repeated with AMD and Nvidia video cards for many years now, starting with the RTX 2000 models.👏🙌
@@MaTeRiY13 Well if you have a 7900xtx ofcourse you will feel like undervolting it and that everything works abnormaly. Take care smart guy . You just can't understand how much better is having a 4080 super instead of a 7900xtx. And good luck overclocking this thing + 250 core + 1500 memory without crashing to death , without consuming 450 watts of power or just failing everything :) Having the need to undervolt a gpu it means that it doesn't work as it should or something bothers you. The 4080 super is the perfect example that it doesn't need any tweaking you can just go straight up and overclock the hell out of this thing and boom + 10-20 fps just like that which makes this card superior to 7900xtx even in pure raster. Meaning that it literally destroyes it cause its already better in everything else.. You are rly confused about longetivity , rtx 2000 started the competition with rx 5000 which were so far away so much slower that it is funny. Rtx 3000 series still compete with 6000 series just fine trading blows at different games. Nothing stops a 3080 ti from beating an rx 6900xt at 4k with 16 gigs of vram.. You got it rly wwong , also 3090 ti is still on top of that generation. Amd only does well on low- mid range competition but still all those amd cards break or fail easier in general. Also stop that crap with vram. When that time comes and 7900xtx needs to use all of those 24 gigs of vram will already be too slow and old that it is not going to be helped at all. 4K? Go try 4k ultra with raytracing for example between those gpus. Everyone uses technologies in 2024 so having dlss is great and also having rt capabilities is also great. You started lecturing me about the modern times that we are and everybody undervolts yea guess what we are in 2024 so we want to use ray tracing and dlss and get over the ancient technologies that amd has to offer.. Are you okay with it?
@@RTX4080SUPERGAMING I won't even explain to you why 2-3 years ago overclocking was no longer relevant and made no sense, and even more so now in 2024. If you still haven't noticed and understood that manufacturers are already squeezing all the juices out of their products, and that's why undervolting is a priority (on some models of video cards and CPUs) simply because of the reduction in temperature and power consumption, then arguing with people like you is like trying to prove to a schoolchild that RGB backlighting doesn't affect FPS in games.🤗🙃 P.S. I meant, of course, the high and top segment of hardware.
Yeah, I'm +150 core and 1500 memory sits almost at 3ghz core and my gpu barely breaks 60c with auto fan, the strix super is a monstrous card it literally sits with fan off because my case fans keep it at 44c idle
Yea.. But after using both I am sticking with 4080 S itself. 1. DLSS looks better than FSR 2. RT as much many hate it, with a card like 4080 S it was possible and games looked amazing 3. Power consumption was def better with 4080S 4. Support for applications like Blender was a bonus
when comparing graphics cards, we're not necessarily looking for the absolute best, but the best for our specific needs and budget. Comparisons can be between cards with different prices and performance
