The NZ Rubbish Trucks' travelling adventures continue, this week my work shipped me to the bottom of the South Island of New Zealand.
Filmed in Invercargill, this video compilation includes front lift, rear load and side lift vehicles covering a range of residential services and the inner-city collection. There were a couple of other trucks I spotted while out but sadly didn't get to capture them as I was tailing other trucks at the time.
0:18 - Front Lift: This AllWaste vehicle was collecting large bins/dumpsters from commercial properties.
6:22 - Rear Loader: This rear loader was driving around the inner-city collecting paper rubbish bags and emptying blue wheelie bins. The driver spoke with me for a while talking about the recycling programs and how his truck just had the front graphics changed to "WasteCo", a Christchurch based company.
8:48 - Rear Loader: Joe's Refuse was out collecting wheelie bins from a range of commercial customers. This must be a very small company as sadly I cannot find much of a web presents for the company to do any research on which in some ways is kind of cool.
11:28 - Side Lift: The Bond Contracts Ltd (BCL) currently hold the Invercargill contract to collect residential refuse and recycling from the provided wheelie bins. BCL has recently been purchased by WasteCo as WasteCo continues to expand their holdings within the South Island of New Zealand.
Thank you to all the great drivers for letting me film them today; it is great to see how other cities manage their waste operations and it is cool to see the different types of vehicles and companies that operate.

Nice one! Pretty cool to see the interesting and unique trucks in NZ especially loved the one at 9:05 with its odd and quirky lifter design. Btw I did film and upload more of the glass recycling.

Yes, this would be a very old truck and the lifer design would have originally been to lift 44 gallon drums which this company may still service, but probably only at residential sites where bins do not need to be moved all the time. Then came along the invention of wheelie bins which makes life much easier. The truck is registered as a 2006 HINO RANGER. --- Thanks for uploading more of your glass recycling!

Oh wow that is cool that you spotted him in this video. What sort of truck does he normally drive? Thanks for watching and commenting!

@@NZRubbishTrucks The waste company owns about six or seven of these 2019 models, the one he usually drives is the same model. This truck he's seen driving has a lot of Bucher signage on it, the ones with less Bucher signage on them are mainly used for red bins and one of them is what he mainly drives. Occasionally he can be seen driving one of the two old trucks leftover from the 2011 fleet. The earliest times I remember seeing him the waste company was still using the old 2011 fleet 5 days a week. By 2019 those trucks were already showing their age, going unpowered, rusty hoppers, up to date technology technology.
