This season of Beste Zangers set the bar higher for all of them. They each came out a better singer at the end.

I was impressed by him during the show.

Such a nice group of people supporting each other. That is Samantha's focused look.

I was fortunate enough ( and quick enough) to watch this entire season before they blocked it. It was all fabulous! So much better because it wasn't a competition! Really a great concept. And although it was not a competition Floor clearly "won". Not surprising with what a terrific vocalist she is. Henk was a strong second! But they all performed admirably; what a great show!

It's always great/nice to see that people like Ruben (and Samantha), who are used to sing in Dutch, take the effort to sing in English and get out of their comfort zone. And again, let's not forget the Marcel Fisher Band.

From the same show you should check out Rolf doing Hotel California for Floor. Everyone had so much fun with his version of the song and one reactor even said about the performance how did Hotel California go from a place you never want to visit to a place that I want to book my next vacation at.

I had never heard this song before this show. It's a momentous, monumental song! And Ruben did it complete justice with his smokey, soulful voice. Thanks for your reaction bringing this song before me. A new favorite. Cheers!

Yes you are good company. You have a good conversational way and I find myself wanting to join in the chat. Floor's generosity shone from the start and the respect of the others grew from that, as well as her unreal talent!! Good on you for giving the band a shout out. They were excellent.

The most people in Holland didn't knew her. I heard Floor for the first time on this show also. Since then I'm a huge fan off her and Nightwish! The whole off Holland know her right now also!!! The metal genre isn't mainstream here. You won't hear that sort off music on the radio. That's why this show is great! Don't think in boxes, put all sorts off genres next to each other. And just enjoying each others talent. Music has no boundries. Just give it your all and respect one another.

He's not putting on a different voice. He just sounds like that. He was 19 years old when the show was recorded. Old soul kinda guy though.

I enjoyed this reaction and your thoughts . This format of Beste Zangers is by far better than the current talent shows. I think for Ruben it must have been a grreat learning experience . And remember the band THE GATHERING , anither Dutch female fronted band , Anneke van Giersbergen , not with the band anymore. She played a part in Floor choosing metal as a genre. Anneke is a solo artist these days.

and the band behind is very very good too ;) ! Take a look at Rolf in the Spanish version of "all by myself" for Samantha or Henk in "Noelia" for Rolf (lot of emotion inside). Don't change anything in your reactions, it's perfect ! lot of humanity, simplicity and paternalistic (sorry not sure of the word in english. In french: "parternaliste").

Now you have to do The Gathering - Strange Machines. It's noteworthy Floor mentions that band and song by name, because that's the song that made me a metalhead too.

Great to see you giving the other performers a fair shot. I think Ruben HAD to dig back into Floor's background to find something he could sing - he was the youngest and least experienced there, and this show probably stretched him more than anything he's ever done. But having chosen, he nailed it! You could see him growing in confidence all the way through. And I think Ruben grew more through this series than any of the others.

Even the host is a famous dutch singer. His name is Jan Smit and he was very popular from the 90tis till 2010 and made a about 40 miljoen euro's thats about 50 million dollar's. So not a bad artists. Haha he is from volendam and thats a little vilage next to the biggest lake of holland but that village deliverd a lot of bands and famouse singers. Like the Cats , BZN , nick and simon and the 3j's. All are miljonairs through singing.

Got to wonder if there is tape of Floor singing backup at the start? Before smart phones much less a possibility ..

To explain the reason, Floor wasn't really that known ... After Forever mostly was an underground experience. They were known ... in the underground. Then she went on to Nightwish via some other projects. So basicly meanstream Netherlands never really tagged onto the whole Floor experience, untill this glorious re-entry into the Dutch meanstream scene.

I know you have a lot of great songs from this season still to go, but just a heads up - the 2018 season was also great. This is a very sad song about the killings by dictator Pinochet. Nothing to laugh about. Samantha is not smiling and she is so right when you listen to the lyrics!

99% is low-balling, I would say 99.999999999%, sorry had to think and edit 100% of us are not as good a singer as she is.
