I think the implications of it scratching the dragon god versus it obliterating Badidadi could say some thing especially being that Badidadi was interested in the attack that could scratch the Dragon god

I like how Bagigadi apperantly managed to finally meet with his wife after her rebirth, she told him how amazing that one human kid was she met and he immediately wanted to meet the guy. Honestly, I need insight on the relationship between Kishirika Kishirisu and Badigadi, because they seem to just be chill af.

I enjoyed the episode as is but hearing about all this cut content I feel like it would have enhanced it. Even if they showed just how scared/interested Badi was when hearing about Orsted, and maybe even including the stuff about Badi's journey leading to meeting Rudy in an OVA would be nice

Honestly I wished they kept the context of Badigadi wanted the strongest spell from Rudeus after hearing he injured Ostred. Other than that I'm satisfied with it.

There's some context I remember from the LN. A old leyend says that once a demon lord was tricked by Hitogami into fight Orsted using a legendary magic armor that was so complex, that is said it had life on it's own. It was hinted that the demon lord who fought was Badigadi, basically telling us he actually faced orsted, and by seeing his reaction towards the capacity of Rudeus of hurting Orsted, probably he loses his match against the dragon god without being able to make a single scratch. So, knowing this, the one hit duel make much more sense now, aside from the intricate personality of this demon.

I was waiting soooooo much for this ep. I loved reading this in the WN, and reading it in the mangá. Badigadi just going caput was sooooo damn funny.

I can see why they would cut it like this. If you were to include everything to give it a natural flow, you would have needed to do 3 episodes in total. One episode with Badigadi, one episode with Rudi, and then one episode with their duel and aftermath. the show focuses mainly upon Rudi's perspective which makes it more digestible. Considering most shows are limited to like 12 episodes a season, 24 if they are really lucky. This just is the best way to do it. Since we are mainly following Rudi and sometimes Fitz, it wouldn't make sense to show all of the out of screen stuff. It can make sense in a manga since you only need a few panels to demonstrate each. But since we cannot have 50 episodes a season. this is probably just the best format. Yup, if they were to include everything and every little information there is in light novels- manga and so forth. we would need 50 episodes a season.

I thought the episode felt rushed and I thought this before I watched your video.

I feel like it was way too rushed how they did it, but considering what they're building up to and where they likely want to spend more time on, I became ok with it over time. I know when I talked to my friends and discussed the cut content with them myself that they wish they'd of seen that fleshed out more too.

The appearance of the demon king was so out of nowhere that it was a huge and fun surprise, especially since the mating season drama wasn’t that interesting. I think that made the episode more fun by keeping us in the dark like Rudy!

I’m love this show so much. I’ll have no choice but to read the Manga afterwards

if the content wasnt cut i imagine myself getting naruto filler flashbacks waiting through the exposition episodes making a 15-20 episode volume something like 30-50 personally i think the anime's execution of his arrival being unexpected kinda felt right for how the demon lords have been introduced in the past almost being like an unexpected force of nature that just exists. plus with badigadis character design and writing i think it fits well with how the interaction went down in the anime as while if we had the context it would add more depth to this larger than life character he is making certainly changing the vibe of the encounter and i just dont see someone appearing so honest having something like that right out the gates given the previous episodes. (TLDR: it felt right in the shoes of an AO viewers perspective)

They would have to pull a re-zero and play 29:30 of animation to really get it right, though I felt they did what they could with the constants they had.

I feel like it was good, even without context, it was pretty evident that badi was a threat to everyone there, except Rudy.

it was rushed imo. the part where, after rudeus won, everyone was silent except fitz was great, or when badigadi was surprised about him injuring orsted were cut, and the stuff about who the girl was also ended up being cut, and those parts were pretty important to me.

3:13 this woman at the center of that panel has been driving me nuts for months, who is she, why was she stalking rudeus, why do I feel like the way she was portrayed is foreshadowing when she does not appear at all for the latter half of the cours, I was expecting answers here and I got nothing except information about her sword making me feel even more that she holds importance.

It felt rushed, but also the animators are kinda going overkill on the moody silent parts. It really worked in the first season when we were all taking things in, but it feels like the pace is becoming monotonous. You can tell that stuff is being diluted down even if you can't tell why or how.

You said Volume 9 of the LN but you showed Volume 8 of the LN on screen xD

I like this episode they cut quit a few things but unless they start cutting stuff like these out we won't see turning point 3 this season. And turning point 4 will be even further away.

probably the studio was limited in episodes and the best way to cut content that wouldnt derail the story was combining these two. the cliff+elinalise plot could be done in half an episode so thats fine. but its a shame they had to cut the context of badigadi. it would have made the showdown way more intense and rudeus victory way more anticlimatic by contrast, which would have been hilarious.

I feel like if they put the whole context in the episode it would have felt too rushed. The way they handled it made him intriguing to say the least

The moment I saw this guy on screen and his mannerism, I knew for a fact, that he must be in some way associated with Kishirika, because they both gave off those similar genki vibes.

the whole fight with badigadi felt strangely calm. a literal demon king comes, the students casually attacked him and casually stood around and watched rudeus fight him with icy uncaring eyes. it was super strange. like it should be a much bigger deal. it bothered me a lot when i first saw this episode.

I'm so sad the studio cut out Rudeus asking Sylphie what she thought of his staff in this episode. She says "It's so big..." and Rudeus says he felt a twinge of something downstairs. IT WOULD HAVE ONLY TAKEN LIKE 5 SECONDS

I was really sad to see so much left out of this latest episode, I thought they were speeding through everything to give the Badigadi fight more time to shine but it ended up being super bare bones compared to the LN. If I recall, Rudeus's stone canon shot was meant to blow Badigadi to pieces which would have been awesome. Oh, also how terrified Nations were of Badigadi crossing through their territory made the fight mean something rather than just calling himself a demon king like every other show. Missing that context made it feel really flat to me.

This season really does feel rushed and it seems like they want to get to "that" as quick as possible. I had a feeling they would since while reading I felt like the conclusion was a long ways off but was optimistic that they'd take the long route. I'm still happy with what we're getting but I feel like this season is missing 2-3 more episodes worth of world building and content. What I am disappointed about in this episode however is that they cut the conversation Badigadi and Rudy had about Orsted. It was just 2 more sentences and the change in duel would've made more sense. It's exclusion also confused some peoples interpretation of Orsted. I've seen some people come to the conclusion that Orsted leaves no survivors which just isn't the case

They crammed so much into it, I would have loved it if the episode had been 60 minutes long instead of 24. But I'll take what I can get 🙂

I definitely felt it was rushed, but not in a bad way. They kept the POV for the viewer and Rudy the same, and it works well with the way they've been doing the storytelling.

It needed to be two episodes but as an anime-only, for what it was I thought they did a good job with the main points. Budget and resources are obviously a concern, to me there seem to be more still frames and less background/crowd animation than they had back in the first season.

The badigadi thing had a totally different vibe in the LN for sure. Also, the sword girl thing was funny to me as it really didn’t mention anything more than her appearance despite her whole reason for being there 😂

Cant say i blame some people for being dissapointed with the battle between rudeus and badi since there was alot more in there rather than just the one spell. Rudeus being the best wingman ever though was nice and fitz being jealous of the girl is there too

I think it really took away from the duel to not have Badigadi react more to the mention of Orsted... Even just a short exchange like "Did you injure him?" "Yes, barely." and then the one hit rule.

I have noticed a decent drop in animation quality and a more "rushed" feeling to this season. I was surprised considering the time between seasons. I hope the studio isn't losing interest in it.

I hate how they misimagined how budygudy reacted to information that Rudeus fought with dragon god and survived.

As an anime only, I really didn't find anything too rushed or out of place. A lot of the extra content is great for backstory and definitely paints a different tone for the confrontation with Badigadi, but it's nothing I personally think was critical. However, I do wish they included that extra dialogue about Rudeus injuring Orsted -- it makes the following battle proposal make more sense and also emphasizes a lot more clearly just how big a deal Orsted really is and how insane it is Rudy injured him at all

I feel sad they didn’t show enough of Badigadi being like a natural disaster

I think the full context would have added more depth to the episode and a level of understanding to the anime viewer of what the demon tribes were like and how amazing it was for Eris and Rudy to have survived the Demon Continent

The episode felt like rudeus POV, so it made sense that it felt oddly calm and slice of lifey to him Would love to see OVAs exploring all these side stories of other characters though

The cut content was interesting, but yeah it would have been at least two episodes to cover it properly. I think the studio did a decent job with the abridged version and consequently it makes your videos quite invaluable to those of us who havn't read the LN but would like to know more about the world of Mushoku Tensei.

What frustrates me the most in this chapter of the academy is the absence of teachers. There doesn't seem to be any dedicated educators or leaders present. I'm left wondering about Redus's activities during this period. There's no indication of training, mentorship, or any effort from the academy to guide him in learning something new. On the contrary, it appears he's simply idling away, not making any meaningful progress toward recovery, finding his mother, or becoming stronger. It's as if he's aimlessly passing time without any clear purpose or direction.

As a LN/WN reader, I feel that a lot of the people complaining about how “bad” S2 cour 1 is because of the cut content have no idea just how much content S1 skipped, since no one was covering the cut content in S1 at the time. Honestly, S1 skipped a lot more LN content, and content that’s actually even more important or substantial than some of what S2 has skipped so far. Volumes 3, 5 and even 6 had a lot of context and content that were either skimmed or just straight up skipped in the anime. Of course, that doesn’t stop S1 from being a fantastic adaptation, but it’s a bit annoying seeing people act like S2 is substantially worse because of some of the content that’s been omitted. It’s a shame that a lot of details were skipped, but that’s just the nature of LN to anime adaptations. There will always be a lot of skipped content. Even Re:ZERO S2, which had 30ish minute episodes, still skipped a lot of arc 4 content. I do think that the 1st cour of S2 isn’t as high quality visual wise as S1, which is mostly due to some of the key members production wise leaving for other projects unfortunately. However, things have been getting much better animation wise, even managing to reach some of the highs of S1. And S2 cour 1 is covering the “weakest” part of the overall story (I still really like the Magic University arc though, especially from volume 9 onwards, which is what the anime is adapting now). It’s a shame some of the Badi dialogue was skipped, and episode 8 did feel faster paced than some of the other episodes (even though I personally still enjoyed the episode). But they covered these 4 chapters in 1 episode so that the pacing for episode 9 is great. If they covered only up until the Badi intro for episode 8, and then saved the rest of the fight for episode 9, the pacing for the Nana chapters and everything after it would definitely suffer. So they chose to rush these chapters so that the pacing for episode 9-12 isn’t sacrificed, which was probably the best decision since imo, episode 9 covers one of the most important moments in the entire story. And from what I’ve heard from leakers and people who got to watch the episode early, episode 9 is probably the best episode of the season so far. In the end, I’m still very much loving S2 cour 1 so far, and I’m hyped to finally see volume 9 adapted. These last few episodes are going to be amazing. More than that tho, I’m INSANELY hyped for S2 cour 2. If adapted well, it will be an absolute masterpiece. I can’t wait to get to see volumes 10, 11 and ESPECIALLY 12 animated man. S2 cour 1 is mostly for getting to know the setting of Ranoa, as well as for getting to know the characters and grow attached to them, while cour 2 is the payoff for everything that’s been built up since S1. I guarantee that when S2 cour 2 ends, a lot of people will have absolutely fallen in love with the story, as well as truly come to appreciate Rudeus’ growth as a character.

Yeah it was rushed but let's be honest: This season, being a slave to the source material, has been very, very light on "shounen" content. The producers clearly understood this and decided to accelerate things so we could have a little spice. I feel like with the season so dry on action or power trip content, it's effectively been riding on the momentum of the first season's promise. It doesn't help-although it's understandable-that they cheapened out on the intros and made them more like what you'd find in a standard anime. That really rubber stamps the thought that we've stopped watching the most compelling isekai ever made and entered a bit of a slow point.

As I'm reading the 24th volume of the LN, it's hard to realize that this happened 16 VOLUMES AGO ! It doesn't feel like THAT MUCH happened since then.

It Know there was way too much story missing for the fight. Hyping him up would have made things More exiting. And in Anime it just looked like he fell down.😑. The Anime should focus a little bit more on fights and brutality. But even so enjoyed the ep very much. And since I'm always watching the rest from your video's I'm also not missing out.

Hearing all of this i would have preferred the episode entirely dedicated to the beast season and badi rather than see anything concerning cliff. As is both haves feel hollow and the badi half had much more potential.

Thank god I had watched this to remind myself who that blue-haired girl was. And on that note, I pray that we get a episode or two on Eris’ travels. Catching up with Eris and her training was an enjoyable read, I hope we can get an OVA at least.

I loved the episode, but it’s easily the worst one yet, it felt rushed and there were parts when I lost immersion because it felt like a speed run, after watching this and other cut contents, I’m even more disappointed.

I'm not a big fan of Season 2. They're just rushing through the content.

I really love these skipped content breakdowns. But the editing choice to include characters from other anime series as fill-ins really throws me for a loop. I'm always like, "wait, who is this person? did I miss or forget something? oh no, that's just a random Overlord character." Can't really say I like it.

I am starting to get really annoyed with this season. The reason why I, and I feel like many others, liked this anime was because of the time they took to establish everything and give a real meaning to every situation. I loved the first 4-5 episodes of the first season and the slow pace they had, making you feel like you are watching something that could truly exist and setting in the right atmosphere. I am very displeased with how this season is setting up so far. And I want them to put the same care they did into the first season and not just rush everything because of the anime popularity.

Honestly, had no idea about the details of the crisis, but during the entire encounter me and my friend was laughing our ass off XD the dude is a simple man with simple desires n laugh is infectious. So if we heard that story we just would've laughed even more. Hell, first half shouldn't even exist imo, like. Yeah shocked he n elinise got together, but not half an episode important.

I did not think it seemed rushed and it was unnecessary to show the nation panicking. Including it would have made the anime seem to drag on with too much side content. It was enough to show how powerful the demon was by the amount of bodies were on the floor and to show him be obliterated and come back to life. I think the anime creators made the right choice in not including that. Maybe make one side special showing what was happening at the same time and a second showing the fight Fits and Zenoba had.

While the situation definitely would've felt more tense knowing the background of Badigadi's arrival, i dont think it was necessary. However, i do believe they should have included the remarks about Orsted between Rudy and Badigadi in the anime prior to the fight.

I love season 1 animation more than this season. in season 1 it was astounding and also the fight scenes were breathtaking

This is the first time as a anime only that I felt things were rushed purely because we get a introduction to a very important character especially in lore and I personally think everything related to each of his moments should be fully adapted but overall I'm still happy Mushoku does a great job of adapting content into the anime and I'll probably pick up the manga and get all the extra juicy details in the future
