I love your finance philosophy videos. Had my headphones on, and just sat and watched the sun sparkling on the bay while I listened. I don't know why you do these videos. Maybe it's your version of charitably giving back to the community. Maybe it's atonement for profiting off a corrupt system. Maybe you just hate seeing good people stuck at the bottom. Regardless, I am just getting into investing for the first time in my life, and your videos these past couple years have been immensely helpful. Thank you!

Well, it's July 2022 now, my 2k Crypto Investment (+ some Mining) has gone from 18k ATH down to 4k, but for some reason I looked into my old Magic Collection and found out that just my 10 most expensive cards combined are like 5k now... didn't expect that AT ALL, didn't really care about MtG in the last like 10 years... So now here I am, thinking about cashing out those 5k (or what I get offered) and putting them into crypto, now that it crashed. Or maybe I should invest in solar power and growing crops, since here in Europe, inflation is insane? Or maybe I should just take all my cards, move into a cave and wait for WW3, nuclear annihilation and the aftermath, when MtG cards will be the currency of the post apocalyptic world? So many choices to make...

Crypto currencies aren't going to go to 0 today, but they will one day. They have an expiration date, and that expiration date is probably day 30-60 of trinary based business computers. I'm going to sum up, but in this comment medium I will not explain in detail. If you understand, you will know I'm right: Summary explanation: The Enigma machine was unary, and it was stomped by the Turing machine which was the first binary system. The Enigma machine was the pinnacle of encryption in unary systems (like Morse code which is NOT binary, but to explain exactly why would be "explaining in detail" which I'm not going to do here). The thing is that when you have another axis of information, you can completely decrypt a lesser system with relative ease. It took the duration of WW2 for binary to be built, programmed, and then completely defeat unary. It will take less time for trinary because binary was introduced into a world without computers and software engineers with just a hand full of experts in the entire world. Trinary will take months, not years, to completely dissolve any concept of binary encryption. Crypto currency is of course a currency that isn't supported by government and military might like traditional currency, but instead supported by the concept that it's un-hackable. It's not. It's only un-hackable right now. Trinary is the expiration date of crypto currency. Not the concept of crypto, because then you can made trinary crypto, but every coin you own right now has an expiration date. And once they invent trinary crypto, it will have a quaternary expiration date, which will come sooner than trinary from the advent of binary because greater tech begets faster tech growth. And if you haven't bought into it yet and plan to, you will need to sell it off before the trinary crash hits. However, in doing so you will know for the rest of your life that you've knowingly sold someone something that you KNEW will have no value in short order. It's an ethical mistake that will make you feel guilt for the rest of your life, and that will make your life less pleasant for the rest of your existence. A wise man would not make that decision. A smart man? yeah, sure. But a wise man would warn against crypto currencies. This is not a rough prediction. This is a fact of the laws of physics and mathematics that the technology is based on coupled with the knowledge that Humans are greedy and WILL hack for money if they CAN hack for money. It's an inevitability, and the only alternative is that the entire Human civilization ends and crypto loses all value anyway. There is no future for crypto. It will become a system with a shorter and shorter life each time we increase our systems' number of base digits. None of this has to do with Magic cards, though. As long as humans value card games, art, and history there will be a market for MTG cards. It will have ups and downs, but it won't hit 0 as long as Humans exist. That is, unless literally no ones cares about physical card games anymore. In VR worlds using mental computer interfaces, one day they may have all the benefits of tactile card games plus all of those of digital. In the advent of that age, maybe physical card games have an expiration date as well.

I retired @ 51 (3 yrs ago). I started playing MTG during unlimited release. I sold all my stuff 5 years ago after not touching my collection for over 15 years. Anyway, awesome video in re to buying low. I've set myself up so I will never have to worry about money, but I went thru those same economy downs and crashes, which were basically the best time to buy provided you believed in the companies ability to bounce back. One if my colleagues lost hundreds and thousands and changed investment strategies, and never recouped his losses. I continued to buy and DCA worked in my favor. Awesome advice. I too have begun dabbling in crypto. My rec: only spend (buy) the amount of money you are willing to lose.

I've been unemployed for the last year due to getting out of the military during the down turn (It wasn't my choice but I came out rather fortunate). I've been listening to you before I separated and I started listening so much more to you since. My wife took up the mantle of bread bringer for us while I started hopping between crap jobs, investing my checks and parts of my VA check. We've come out rather well from this whole nonsense. I recently got picked up for a really good job. Those days where I was just beat to shit from breaking my back or working all night I would watch these long videos just before bed. A lot of what you say is super helpful and insightful and I can't thank you enough for your time.

Nothing in the large cap side of Crypto is crashing unless you bought at the highs. For the year, they are all up by a ton. Etherium was below 1K not very long ago. It has more than doubled. These swings are normal and shake out the weenie babies. Holding has not failed yet in the long term.

Rudy, talk to some of your crypto friends about becoming an Eth validator. You need a minimum of 32 Eth. You can get a better percent being a validator then staking it on CB. I'm not against staking on CB, I do it. But if you have over 32 Eth, kind of pointless. Look into it...

Rudy is the man, and his perspective is right, especially the part about being stable before you buy. If you’re already setting money aside, buy when fear is high and don’t worry about losing money the second you click the button....accumulate if you have money to set aside $5 $500 $5000 $50,000 doesn’t matter the amount. Whatever the asset class is. And if your employer matches 401k contributions, max it out.

This video is a great example of why crypto is garbage. That being said, if Rudy had used it to conduct those out of country transactions and then immediately converted it into dollars, that is one thing. But remember, the ultimate goal of this crypto "currency" is to cash out and make lots of DOLLARS. Think about that for awhile. Dollar > crypto.

I made about $270k this bull run in Crypto. Sold it so my investment is about $300k right now. I have been trying to figure out if I wanted to use it to start a book/game/card/gift store. I just want to make the most money, so I'm trying to figure out if a physical store can make me more money than I would otherwise. I got laid off at the start of the year. So I thought starting a store might be time. My other option is to find another soul sucking job and use my profits to dollar cost average in during the bear market. What do you think Rudy? (Edited to get figures right, I should note I have a lot of student debt, but if I use my earnings to pay my 6 figure debt + pay taxes I'll be at net worth of zero, so trying to find the best path forward)

I’m late to this video but people saying they are glad they didn’t get into crypto when a year prior BTC was 3k and Eth was 100 bucks. You don’t get those returns anywhere else. You should stick to cardboard. At least it's tangible and worth something. Crypto has no intrinsic value and as for the network effects it's not what most people think. Like if you have the first phone it's worthless, if a bunch of people have phones it's valuable, but does that mean you're going to pay exponentially more to use the phone? Like everyone's phone bill just skyrockets the more people use the phone. That's the major problems and why its fugazi.
