He didn’t beat or harm his animals! The charges for Animal Cruelty were because he had too many dogs in his house and backyard and basement... just some info so you don’t have the wrong info about his love for dogs

DMX and other 90s rappers are a tough case for me. Today if someone does/did something you'd hear about it before or around the time they came out. With DMX and other rappers, you didn't have that access to info so for me I fell in love with their music and then found out about their personal life. Big Pun is another example that I love his music but after he died footage came out of him pistol whipping his wife. DMX is even tougher because on top of me personally loving dogs, DMX also purported to love dogs. He has a huge tattoo of his dog who passed away, Boomer, on his back. When he first became famous he talked about how he was homeless for years and Boomer was his only companion/friend and how much he loved Boomer. Then years later the animal cruelty/dog fighting stuff comes out and it's tough to reconcile the two. Unfortunately, DMX is from a culture (inner city culture) where dog fighting is considered normal and he somehow thinks he can love dogs and still subject them to that. It's no excuse, but it's the same situation as Michael Vick.

Anthem is an anthem for the Ruff Ryderz Motorcycle Club. It was made specifically for them. it is supposed to induce fear for the club. Also you probably won't be listening to anymore DMX he talks about dogs and dawgs a lot. He even starts to bark.

I understand the dilemma but I look at his manic depression, schizophrenia and dug abuse as a cause to his troubles. Look more into his music and he talks in detail about it. In ‘Slippin’ the video is his dog Boomer that he has tattooed on his back. That’s who he’s say was the only person he’d give his last too.
His animal cruelty charges were for having a large number of pitbulls in his basements at his houses. He never beat them or killed them or anything like that. If he did then i dont remember that charge. React to Damien 1, 2, & 3 though.

Metalhead Reactions when he was homeless at a young age all he had was his pit bull “Boomer” which is his tattoo at the top of his back. Pit bulls in his video has nothing to do with fighting dogs. Also, this song speaks on his times on the streets. Slippin speaks on the effects of the streets. This was one of his biggest songs and you wouldn’t have gotten “Slippin” without Ruff Ryders Anthem. (Which this song displayed the street team(four wheelers & motorcycles which was the brand of the overall group)
You all should look at his set at Woodstock. It is amazing to watch how he held that entire crowd in the palm of his hands with only a dj and no hype man. That performance shows DMX at his prime!!!

The animal cruelty charges were from his place in AZ. He had been recording a new album in Miami or New York and the guy he hired to take care of his dogs didn't so they charged X. He proved he wasn't in state but couldn't prove he hired the guy so they said that proves abandonment and cruelty.

Those animal cruelty cases were just a way to get him infront of a judge. This Guy is only friend in life was his dog (Boomer) The Guy considered himself a dog.he he never got convicted of it though. There are tons of stories of X giving people money to pay there bills. A lot of the animal cruelty charges that X got charged with, is usually due to neglect. If you do more research into it, you'd see more into it. He'd often go on tour for months and leave his dogs with caretakers, and a lot of these caretakers would neglect their responsibilities, not feeding the dogs, etc. Neighbours would report the condition of these dogs, and because he is the owner of the dogs, he gets slapped with the fine. Many of the caretakers he had he personally fired. The only argument one can have about animal cruelty with X and dogs is that sometimes he would have dogs fight as he trains them. Back in the day he'd train his dogs to be vicious. I'm not sure if that has changed though. He feeds them well, and take great care of them otherwise

If my memory is right he was arrested on suspicion of dog fighting but it was quickly proved wrong. some dog weren't fed right so they still went at him, he plead guilty for cruelty to avoid jail time. He claimed that the caretaker was responsible for the dogs while he was on tour. One thing about X, he always admits his mistakes, so don't believe everything you read.
DMX has two personalities and you can tell how he raps on his tracks. As far as the shirtless men that’s what you see in prison at that time he was fresh out of prison.
He loved pits. Don’t believe everything you read. He is an addict and he has publicly admitted on a couple shows. He did one with Dr. Phil. Check that one out.
Also, DMX has struggled with demons like many people. Unfortunately his demons was with drug addiction and animal cruelty. He is making a comeback and is clean now. If you see recent interviews, he looks and sounds healthier. I'm still rooting for him. We've all gone through trials and tribulations. I just hope he is mentally and physically stable and makes more music.
he was on tour and let his yard and his dogs under the responsabilty of one of his peers who was not doing the job properly ( plus the neighbors was against him for long time and was waiting for him sleeping to press complaints) ... it was DMX house so he got charged for it. DMX loves dogs more than human beings.
I was at work when he died. I was smoking a cigarette outside the warehouse and seen a article saying his family would decide what to do. I walked inside the warehouse looked at my phone and got the news he died. Everybody I’m the warehouse got a speaker and all played the same song at the same time. Had 5 speakers all the way up playing DMX for the rest of the work day

An interesting fact about Ruff Ryder's anthem, straight from DMX's mouth in interviews, he actually didn't like the song and didn't want to record it, at all. He found it was too basic, and because the label wanted something a bit more commercial, and Swizz Beatz (the producer of Ruff Ryder's Anthem) nagged him to do it, he did it. He wrote it in about 15 mins.

If you have too many dogs in certain jurisdictions, it classifies as animal cruelty. My friend had 7 dogs, big piece of land - but it was in the city and he was told get rid of the dogs or would end up with same charges. So as people have already said - DMX didnt "beat"dogs
DMX owned a ranch in Arizona and mostly lived his life in NY. He had a large dog kennel at this ranch as well. The caretaker of the property quit and walked out and the dogs were later found neglected. DMX claimed that he had no idea about this but was charged as he was the property owner. DMX was homeless for a while with nothing but dogs around him. He had "one luv boomer" tattooed across his back in memory of the first dog he had when he was homeless. I doubt he was a stone cold animal abuser
The woman reactor reminds me of Ellen Page A LOT. That is a compliment because she is beautiful and an extremely talented actress. That said, I've been around for a long time listening to this and rock. This may sound a bit pretentious, but if you wanna know some great classics, just ask. As a teen he went to go get some weed and someone laced it with something stronger. He probably hasn't been right ever since, also he just checked himself back into rehab. Ya'll pray for him, he's a great artist who happens to be very flawed. I'd hate for him to meet the same fate as Amy Whinehouse who left us waaaay too soon. 🙏🏼
William Gray he hired a guy to care for his dogs the guy took the money and didn’t do what he was supposed to and Dmx didn’t have proof he hired someone and that’s how the charges came to be.
Ruff Ryders Anthem came out first-it’s from his debut album It’s Dark and He’ll is Hot.Slippin is from his second album called Flesh of my Flesh,Blood of my Blood.Both albums came out in 1998 but It’s Dark came out 7 months earlier
He actually loved dogs and ran his own kennels in Arizona about ten years ago. The state just didn’t agree with the living standards and the mass amount of dogs he had. He didn’t drown them in buckets like Michael Vick or anything. He had a good but troubled heart and I understand that because he spoke to my heart growing up.

This is an agree to disagree type of situation. Where he grew up, pitbull fighting is something that occurs on a normal basis. You didn't grow up in that lifestyle so respectfully you would never understand how people can do that to animals, which is understandable. So if you choose to never forgive, that's ok. We as a society have a hard time truly stepping into someone else's shoes.
