It's Mid-October and our favorite time of year is upon us, and with that comes our annual Ruffed Grouse Camp in Northern Michigan! Uplander Apparel - uplanderlifestyle.com Follow along on Instagram! @uplander_lifestyle
Just tuned in today to this video, as it popped up o my list; Fantastic footage and story line! That's great that you can pull in a camper to where you can hunt and camp in the same area! And to be able to go with your buddies is the absolute best! Kind of a "warm-up" to deer camp, I Imagine! Thanks for making the video; this "old timer" appreciates it! ~Lou
I just came across your channel. Very cool video and dog work! My Brittany is seven months old and having a great puppy season in northern Maine so far. My first bird dog so him and I are learning together!
That's awesome to hear man! Good luck to you and your Britt the rest of the season, you guys are going to be having a lot more fun over the next few years. Thanks for following along!
20 gauge, English-style, side-by-side! I couldn't tell if it was single or double triggers. No matter. This brings back a lot of memories. Best and many hits.
Great job! I’ve been watching some of your vids today. So great to see younger guys so passionate about upland hunting, dog training and good dog work. Love how you work the woods and the dogs. Giving the younger dogs patience and praise. Wish I was further north in NH or ME to get into more birds like you get in the north woods of MI. Thanks for bringing us along. Good work promoting responsible upland hunting. 👍🏻
Shity dog work, he keeps telling that woe. There by giving way his position. That dog should point. That what a pointer suppose to do, and he keeps graving at birds. What if you wanted to mount one of those birds all you get is a pile shit and Fethers?
@@horizanadventures Way to encourage a younger enthusiastic hunter and dog owner. 1/2 full brother, 1/2 full! Have a better day than you were having when you wrote this comment!
@@horizanadventures shitty dog work? I don’t know, I’d run my dogs any day against that short hair you’re basically beating to stand still in your videos.
I just found this currently in MI waiting for next weekends opener. My English springer Spaniel Bert is biting at the bit😊. Is the one dog a Brittany im assuming? I love the content. Getting me fired up
Do ''Dead bird" is an order that Amber was trained with? She seems to fetch naturally ? Is it more difficult in dense wood or in open fields? Brittany seems to work close to his mater than other breeds.
@@UplanderLifestyle Stevens 311? I have a series H in 20ga with the same chokes in 28” barrels. Swings well for spot and instinctive shooting. Couldn’t imagine taking it in thicker cover with the longer barrels though.
The bell gives you a play by play real time of what the dog is doing and how its working a bird when it cant be seen in heavy cover. The bell is situational, I don't always use it. When we hunt in the thick grouse woods, it helps keep track of the dog and how its working a bird if it makes contact. If we're in open prairies I don't run a bell because I can see the dog with my own eyes.
