Hullo Emma, WoW your portrait paintings are simply amazing! Rufus is truly a triumph! I know that your Patreon supporters are in for a real treat with this lesson. I still view posts on your Facebook group and make an occasional comment, but I no longer post works as I am not a paid up member of the Patreon group. I just wanted to say to anyone thinking about checking your Patreon out that it is money well spent and value for dollar a real deal for the content available! I only hope that I am able to re-join one day! I hope you are well and enjoying creating amazing artwork, thank you for sharing this pup with us. Have a lovely day!
Hi Emma, you keep things interesting, always approaching a portrait in a different way. Thank you for sharing your wealth of knowledge. Rufus is so adorable posing for his portrait. 🐶
I will be joining Your Patreon next month when I can buy some materials. I have art experience and want to improve and I have never worked in Pastels. So far everything I have watched with You speaks to Me and how I do things in pencil and paint.
This is beautiful, love your work and your enthusiasm.. you’ve cost me a small fortune in pastels! 😂 your animal unison box arrived today.. just awaiting the pastelmat paper. The cheap pastels and paper I had already have been so difficult to work with, I can’t wait to get going. Thank you for introducing me to a new medium that I’m thoroughly enjoying. I can only hope to be as good as you are, but even if not, I’ll enjoy every minute ☺️
..do you agree that in soft pastels..a set with darker tones likes browns ,Grey's, darker blues are better than too many light hues? I found that medium range like 36-40 pastels are better than 60 or 24 as i find darker tones in middle range which is more useful. what's your opinion?
Yes I think so. I love the effects you can get leaving the marks showing or using the pastel stick to blend the colours as you apply them. But it's just not the way I work. I've always enjoyed smudging!
