Rug Tufting - Fixing Holes in My 1st Tufted Rug

I'm sure there are better ways to do this, but this worked for me....to get thru my 1st rug. I was eager to finish this, just to get onto the next one - with all the lessons I learned on this one. This may work for you, if may not - but here it is. Note - before I put glue on the back, I trimmed the patch on the back & sprayed Gorilla glue down to hold the patch to the back - and to hold the yarn fibers already there from the gun. If this helps, GREAT.

instead of using the needles once you glued the patch onto the back of the fabric just go over the damaged section/hole again with the tufting gun. Its a lot quicker that way

I'm working on a big rug & accidentally got a hole. I was wondering if anyone has tried going over a patch with the gun. I was discouraged until I seen this video & your input as well. Huge thanks to the both of you!

I have seen videos where tufters patch the hole. But the way you did this looks a lot cleaner. I think this way is better even though it may take a little longer

Thank you, hope it helps. I looked up 'yarn needles' on Amazon and came across that set. Eventually, I learned that using the needles as color coded (2 each color) - helped me identify and pull the right needles thru together.
