Btw the original and most popularized version of the legion of boom was earl Thomas, Kam Chancellor, Byron Maxwell, and Richard Sherman. It’s changed over the years as played have gotten traded and whatnot but that was the most dominant group of four.
Michael critchfield true. After that there was always the distinction between the LOB, and the “Original LOB,” Although the first year with Maxwell taking over Browner’s spot, was legit too. I mean, they won a super bowl that year haha
So Browner was a member briefly, before being replaced by Maxwell. After Maxwell, there was Jeremy Lane, DeShawn Shead, and most recently Shaquille Griffin, Justin Coleman, and Bradley McDougald.
I'm not a seahawks fan. But I do have to admit that their Color Rush neon green Uniform is probably the best uniform in the league. It's a beautiful jersey.
@@tananyahwo1406 Giants actually have an Ok defense, also footballs a team sport, 1 or 2 players on one side of the ball wont help a team, sure theyll win games but without a dLine Receivers can get open, with No DBs its an easy completion no Linebackers theres no one to cover the middle, Just Jamal and Bobby doesnt define our defense our defense is horrible
"the legion of boom" is such a fantastic nickname. It's right up there with "the steel curtain" and "the purple people eaters" lol John Randle"the craziest man in the NFL"
•Rain City• lol you have to admit, "purple people eaters" is really unique. Most defensive nicknames are meant to be intimidating, but THAT nickname is such a corny and fun nickname. IDK, to each his own I guess.
Tyler Suarez jags are good. But I don't think that they will be all time great when it's all said and done, because for as good as they are, they had a handful of games where it turned into a shootout, and their offense couldn't bail them out, or they did. The second steelers game, the 49ers game, the titans games, the rams game, the jets game. They were proven to be beatable, while the defenses that were all time great, like the ravens, the buccs, the broncos, had a game or two, but were never proven easily beatable. The jags are good, but they lost when they needed to win, and are too far from being as good as the broncos defense was. I mean they shut down hall of fame qbs, held arod to 77 yards in a game where they were both undefeated.
Just watched your vid on Kam Chancellor. I've been a Seahawks fan since a year or two before Bam Bam was born, so when they finally started putting together REALLY great teams in the last 10 years, it's been amazing. LOB was crazy good. That SuperBowl vs Denver was the #1 scoring offense of all time, vs the #1 defense that year (some people put them up with the all-time greatest Ds in history) The Seahawks utterly dismantled the Broncos in that game, from the very first play on.
I watch this one a lot. It reminds me of the good ol days with Kam, Sherm and Earl. I'm really going to miss them all. They were a huge part of my team who is a huge part of life for almost 7 years. It was really sad last year around this time, knowing an era was finally coming to an end, and it'll hurt equally as much watching Earl Thomas play football in a Ravens uniform this season. Earl was our last one; the boomiest of the boomers. It's sad but I'll always have the highlights.
FYI the main Legion of Boom is between Richard Sherman(CB), Earl Thomas (FS) and Kam Chancellor(SS) who were all considered the best at their position during that defenses dominance
Watched a few of this UK Rugby lad's reactions to american football. Very cool how he shows interest & due respect to the NFL... not surprising that a professional athlete who plays a similar-style sport recognizes & appreciates various features of NFL football. He seems like a pretty cool & open-minded fella. Hopefully there's more reactionary footage or similar stuff to come from him & his rugby mates. Cheers!
137.6 dB is the equivalent of standing next to a Boeing 777 while it is taking off... That is how loud it was in Seattle during one game. Technically, Kansas City broke the record for loudest outdoor stadium, however it was a staged event in which crowd props were used to momentarily break the record. The Seahawks record occurred in game, during an exciting play. The stadium in which they play however, is built to funnel the noise back down and to settle at the crowd level.
A couple of things: 1) They played with Beastmode on offense. 2) They have both Super Bowl 48 and 49 on the NFL’s RU-vid page. If you want to see a full football game, they have most of the iconic ones on there.
Hey bro, I watch your videos and like your reactions to them. They were good. There is a guy that I think you haven't heard of He played for Seattle in the late '80s but was plagued by injuries in the pros. Only lasted a couple of years. He played for Oklahoma university from 83-87, as a Strong Side Inside Linebacker. Which means he would be on whichever side had a Tigh end on the offense. Brian Bosworth, the main reason I mention him is that he came 4th in the voting for The Heisman in 87, as a Defensive player. A lot of people back in the day thought he was awesome.
What makes every great defense is the synergy between the players. Each of the three key members of the Seahawks secondary brought something different to the table. Richard Sherman was the biggest star, the intelligent and brash spokesman for the team. Earl Thomas was its best player, the linchpin to its success, with his ability to rocket around the field and defend the pass as well as the run. Yet it was Kam Chancellor who was its spirit animal, who gave it its reputation for big hits. The psychological effect on the opposing team was such that many receivers couldn't run routes over the middle effectively for fear of a Chancellor hit. But as with every defense it is how these players combined with each other and the other defenders that took it to the next level.
Giovanni Avella they were different styles; LOB played zone and Sherm stayed on one side of the field until their decent backup corners left, whereas the no fly zone lined up and played more man coverage cause all their corners were beasts.
Interesting fact about Legion of Boom is that Pete Carol the head coach had the do rugby tackling drills to teach them how to wrap tackle properly in the open field.
Darrell Pruitt it’s sad the way it had to end after super bowl 49 and Sherman leaving to the 49ers and kam getting that injury. I believe they could of made it back to another super bowl but attitude was holding them back
i know that Servi held workshops with the seahawks to help the with practicing clean rugby tackles. Pete Caroll (head coach) loves teaching his players proper technique! Great vid man!
Too bad the Legion of boom is no more but they were fun to watch. Check out the Vikings Defensive highlights from last yeah and watch them this coming season if you wanna see a great defense.
False, legion of boom are (in)famous for clutching and grabbing outside of the Seattle echo chamber. Don't you remember rules changes asking refs to watch for that? Besides, Denver's 2015 season specifically is widely regarded as one of the best full unit defenses ever, being elite at every position, whilst their playoff run and Super Bowl are enough to put them in league with only the '85 bears.
First off you're talking about a span of years, did I not specifically state 2015's Broncos iteration (more on this later)? Next, everyone knows a generation is 20 years, so you prob weren't around to watch the 2000 Ravens but go learn about them, they didn't have to clutch and grab to the point that officials were forced to look at that specifically. Just by that, your statement about greatest of the generation is false; sorry the Ravens got the best Seattle defense (2013) beat. Back to my premise; I said the 2015 Broncos defense, and defenses (like all teams) are rated year to year. For example one does not say the "1980's bears," it's the 1985 bears specifically regarded as the best ever. So as I was discussing a single year's performance, yes, the 2015 Broncos are among the handful of best ever for a full season, and to top it off, their post season run is among the greatest putting them up there with the 2000 Ravens and 1985 Bears. And remember contextual stats matter; the astonishing thing is the 2015 Broncos did it with no offense to speak of. Saying barely top 15 is a really poor troll attempt, sounds like something a blogger would say haha. You never go full blogger. Ps - Did you know that you pointed to a stat that is not a defense-specific stat? Scoring defense counts points allowed by special teams and the offense. You also don't get contextual stats from this, which would require box-score investigation. But that sort of thing requires looking at lots of information. For example, the Pats regularly have a highly rated scoring defense, but that's also because they don't screw up on offense and special teams. Note - if you get into the numbers, you find the easiest path to having a great defense is by keeping them off the field. Pps - Broncos actually looked to the 1985 Bears for their model, NOT the Seahawks. Also, not that I'm one for lists, but NFL.com begs to differ with you.
kamikazininjaelf77 that's all you got? High school level "I can look at stats?" Hahah shit... I suggested actually learning why stats are the way they are in football, but you straight stopped thinking. K, and if nothing I say matters, then it's been fun, Legion of Bandwagon. At least you guys have had a couple successful seasons ... recently. Sucked when Seattle was the AFC West doormat all those years. Keep up the success and before you know it the rest of the NFL will take the Seahawks fan base more seriously (echo chambers suck yo).
1:05 this is the new Legion Of Boom prototype. The original one ( the one you are watching in the video ) consists of Kam Chancellor, Earl Thomas and Richard Sherman ( Jeremy Lane, Byronn Maxwell adn Browner count too )
@@Jeremy-lu7vp Think about LOB being more physical in that era though it’s hard to say LOB is the reason why defenses aren’t allowed too jump over the line man anymor
Sherman leaving us is a bit painful because not only was he one of my favorite players but he went to the 49ers, who happen to be our division rivals. Kam is all but retired and Earl is a topic for trade discussions. We still have Bobby Wagner (look him up..considered to be one of the best linebackers in the game. #21 on the countdown.) We have lots of young talent this year. I’m excited to see what they can do.
Several legendary defenses have had epic nick names. Legion of Boom - Seahawks, The No Fly Zone - Broncos, The Bad Birds - Cardinals, The Doomsday Defense - Cowboys, The Steel Curtain - Steelers, etc.
Loving these reactions! Do the Greatest Show on Turf video that NFL Films did. That Rams offense was insane. And if you ever do college football check out the 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers, the most dominant college team in history.
Earl's swagger when he took out Gronk was a thing to behold. He just walks off like, yup, just another day. Meanwhile, Gronk has a couple broken ribs after that hit. LOL. #feelsbadman for Earl now, seeing as he'll probably no longer be a Seahawk after this season.
Shaqeem Griffin UCF highlights! Shaquill Griffins brother. He only has one hand and he’s a monster I’ll make it easy: His story: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-C-fkYtcbZa8.html His combine: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-R6XSAb4DKlE.html His highlights: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-H6jFL3W1Z7E.html
Great video. One thing you should look at is speed without gear on (no pads) vs. speed with gear (pads). Players have game speed vs. non game speed. It is in interesting comparison
I don't know why I like watching these videos of you simply watching sports clips, but I just do. It's totally addictive. But have to admit that I mainly want to see you review my favorite team, SEATTLE SEAHAWKS! Yes, their uniform is bad-ass too! Keep it coming!
Seattle Native here, you come to Seattle during a home game and I'll use my season tickets to show you why they call us fans the 12th man on the field! Would make for a pretty neat video wouldn't you say?
Shitposter Extraordinaire actually im 13 and been a fan since 2012 the same year we got destroyed by the ravens in the Afc Championship, im been a fan for more than half my life dipshit
Baker Mayfield college highlights: WIZARD QB for elusiveness and nailing impossible long bombs and laser passes to covered receivers. And he very often blocked downfield for his receivers.
I recommend watch De’Anthony Thomas college highlights at Oregon. One of the fastest and most elusive players in recent memory. This video titled “De’Anthony Thomas (The Black Mamba) 1080p HD” is good! Link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RZ_eIM9EV0I.html
Richard Sherman is now with my 9ers!!! Whoot!! Besides the 85 Bears, another hard hitting D is the 86 Giants. 77 Broncos-Orange Crush, 90-Saints linebackers, 86-90 Giants, and the 70’s Steel Curtain would be cool. The 90-92 Saints D is considered to have the best 4 linebacking group ever. They weren’t as great as Lawrence Taylor or Ray Lewis individually, but they were all great on one team at the same time.
If you want a jersey from the Hawks, tweet out to Chris Pratt. He's a big Seahawks fan and is known to go out of his way for other fans. Rainn Wilson (Dwight from the American "The Office") likewise is known to be a very generous Seahawks fan.
you have to get to a Seattle game. i was at the game where marshawn lynch had that insane run against the saints and of course i was rooting for the saints. anyways it got so loud it registered as an earthquake on the earthquake scale!!
0:49 It was so so sad when I edited the page. At the time he recorded, Kris Richard (Ri-shard) hasn't gone to the Cowboys, Chancellor hadn't retired yet. Earl Thomas may be coming to the Cowqboys, but I can't promise it would happen.
If you wanted to see another play to understand Kam Chancellor (31) and his physicality, look up his video against Arizona Cardinals tackle Eric Winston. If you want to see a play that surprises you in how much 1 player can just wreck a play, that's definitely one to consider. Have a good day/night!
The crazy thing that you might not get if you're new to NFL is that a lot of those highlights are against top guys at the time, Demariyus Thomas, Crabtree, AJ Green, Larry Fitzgerald, all legends
You’ve totally gotta do Fred Taylor. One of the most underrated RBs of all time. If he had played for any other team, like the Patriots, for example, for nearly his whole career instead of his final two seasons when they did not win the super bowl, he’d already be in the HOF. Also, check out 2017’s stingiest defense: SACKSONVILLE.
NFL Films ranked the Legion of Boom as one of the top 10 best defenses of all time. These guys were legit amazing to watch that year they beat the Broncos in the Superbowl. If you like amazing defenses, you must check out the '85 Bears or the Steel Curtain or the early 2000 Bucs under Gruden. (Or just use this link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hFVn0GlIM4I.html ) -Yeti
Do a react to the 1950 Snow Bowl. It was an insane college football game with the temperature being -12°C, wind gusting at 45 KPH, and snow falling at 5 cm per hour.
You are going to have so much fun this coming season now that you understand the game. All of the games are on line if not on your tv. Man I'd love to take you to a game. It's way better to watch the game on tv, but being there live once is a must.
Interesting fact for you Jacob I hope you see this. The Seattle Seahawks invented a form of tackling called “Seahawk tackling” its based off rugby tackling techniques. The high school I play football for teaches this. You can look up videos on RU-vid about Seahawk tackling i think it would be interesting to get a ruby players take on it. I love the videos keep it up man.
The noise in that stadium is unbelievable. The 12 signifies the crowd as the 12th man on the field. It's so loud that it throws off an offense. They can't hear a thing
