Lee Evans is my favourite comedian I miss his comedy since he retired.. I wish he would come out of retirement and there is so much material that he can use the way this world is to today

So true about how tough rugby players are, they literally had to introduce sending off players for head injury assessments as the players wouldn't voluntarily go off after blows to the head.

@@tottenhamhotspurish Except that Lee is a lovely person off stage. A friend of mine worked with NW years ago and apparently he was absolutely horrible to everyone 'below' him. The antithesis of his 'public' persona.

@@iwasglad122 - That’s a little sad to hear. I grew up watching Norman with my mum and dad when a film of his would pop up now and again. I instantly warmed to him. Hopefully he was just having a bad day, but as the saying goes: “Never meet your heroes for they are sure to disappoint you”.

Modern society is killing humour - glad I got to see Lee live several times before he retired. Laughed so hard it hurt 🤣 Although it wasn't that long ago it feels like a different era! They'd be queuing up to cancel him these days saying he'd offended the world or something 😒

I think he retired because he realised the state of society and how cancel culture has destroyed comedy. He’s old school and probably wasn’t prepared to pander to the 0.001% who are funded by all their mega corporations but still call themselves “oppressed”
