Ruger 57 | First Mag Review 

Glock says, we have something new coming, introduces a .22lr pistol.😞 Ruger says nothing, and introduces the 57!😃👍👍

Praying this breaks open the market for 5.7 ammo.

Spent my early adult life wanting a fn 57, now I want a ruger 57 more.

Is it me or is anyone else kind of envious of that range he's on?

Hey Ruger, now make a rifle in 5.7 that takes the same mags, and the combo of the two would be awesome

My daily carry is an FN Five seveN. After reading the coroners report on the Fort Hood shooting (sad as it was) it convinced me the round is very capable. The best part of it is that fully loaded and topped off with 21 rounds it only weigh's 28oz. About the same as an empty Glock 19. Spare mags, you barely even realize you are carrying them. After coming from a CZ for many years my back and hips are thanking me.

Ruger really has not made a bad firearm in my option. I own an old 9mm from that company and still have it today. Bought that back in 1996. Still works, still fires.

I can see this becoming a race gun for competition shooters easily, the extremely low recoil combined with the mag capacity just screams "fast and accurate" for the 3-gun crowd.

Found one at my local shop. This video is the reason I decided to buy it. Great ergonomics. Slide is easy to rack (which is good for my wife) and it's soooooo smooth to shoot. It's my new favorite handgun

Love Ruger. Priced good, shoots any ammo and goes boom everytime I pull the trigger. Hell yeah.

I’m enjoying your video very much. I got my first training with a handgun in the Marine Corps which was a 1911 because I was a machine gunner and that was my side arm. There are two things I prefer on a pistol and those two things are manual safeties and iron sights. I still have not got used to the two hand grip and I think it’s primarily because I spent so many years on a pistol team in the Army shooting the 45,P38,and 22 automatic pistol, all with hand safeties on them I’m not particularly fond of trigger safeties. I Participated as part of a pistol team in the 60s and 70s in the Army. I’m enjoying this video because it’s on the Ruger 57 which I think will be my next purchase of a pistol.

Got one today. I absolutely love it and the price point was a big factor. I agree with you about the trigger but I too believe that with time it will break in. Great video

I literally seen a 80 year old lady buying a shockwave at my local gun store. I had to ask why. She said, "this is my first gun and i wanted this because it's a loophole." Then i realized it's the same reason why we have such a drug problem in this country. *telling people they can't have or do something makes you want to do it* Even old ladies..

Brother Colion. I could not agree with you more. The Ruger 5.7 is my edc gun. I wanted to add a few things…I have arthritis in both hands and my 1911 and Glock 26 made it hard to shoot a 100 round qualification. The recoil is almost non existent in this handgun and the larger sights bring everything on point. It’s a larger handgun but I carry it kinda hi on my hip and it seems it’s lighter than the 1911 or Glock 26 fully loaded. I love the looks and performance of the 5.7 round. The "anemic" 5.7 was specifically designed to penetrate several layers of body armor. Won't hit the bad guy like a runaway truck, but WILL make the bad guy bleed out...

First time watching your videos ever, and it was not disappointing. Subscribing for more content. Just recently purchased the ruger 57 and I'm waiting to test it out pretty excited.

I've always been a 5.7x28mm fan. I just really like the idea, and I've always liked the FN FiveSeven since I was a lad. But when that Ruger 57 came out, I had to get it. I've always been kind of a Ruger fanboy so to speak. But the Ruger 57 really hit a lot of spots for an FN competitor. Optics ready as well, and there's a safety-less Pro model too. Ammo can be kind of a bitch and it's certainly not 9mm prices, but I think it's a decent cartridge, FN downloads a lot of their commercial loadings and the decently loaded shit goes to LE and military contracts. I also managed to get an MPA Defender carbine with a 16" barrel, pretty much a Mac 10 frame with an Ar barrel and stock chambered in 5.7 and I absolutely love it. Just great for varmint. Unbelievable accuracy for both the Ruger and the MPA, I usually pair them up when I go out for most of my varmint hunting like rabbit and coyote. The only shitty part is, they don't share mag compatibility, the MPA taking FN mags, and more specifically shitty Pro mags work better in it than factory FN mags. I don't understand that either.

The thing I noticed first is how quickly the nose drops back down on target - quick and snappy.

I've got other examples of Ruger, and I've got other examples of FN. Ruger wins those comparisons, and I like the look of this Ruger more than the FN. Go ahead and make that comparison video. I'll watch it, but I'm already sold.

I just had the pleasure of seeing one of these in person last week at a gander store. Gorgeous. I'm just skeptical of the actual self defense quality of it. I would still love shooting it though. Still thinking of getting one, or two.

I remember the review you did of the 5N7. "The Hippsters gun"! When I've had my hands on it and ran the FNH plastic-fantastic, yeah, I agree. My former wife loved it because she could shoot it. The 5.7mm is a winner for those that can get their hands around is grip, a ford the gun, and the ammo. Now, with Ruger in play, the gun is a fordable. The rest, work it out.

I just found out about the Ruger 57 two days ago. Saw the price and was filled with the most amount of joy I’ve felt in my life.

YEAH, "You get a pistol with 20 rounds." - AND with a lot of range compared to other pistol cartridges. Mi 57 has a HOLOSUN509T fully enclosed circle/dot sight. The 6 o' clock on the circle reticle is great for 200 yard shots (yes) from a rest. I take mine hiking here in Nevada B/C of that long distance factor. Also my 57 is a great "companion" to my PS90 carbine. BTW, You KNOW Ruger is going to make their PC Carbine in 5.7 x 28. That's a no-brainer.

For EDC you get more capacity, the round penetrates through armor and the environment better, AND it’s less than $1000. Personally, I don’t mind the drawbacks
