I followed the Anarchy Outdoors video and misaligned my firing pin mechanism. Their video sucks and the camera is too far away to see what he is doing. The damage I did was so bad, I had to send my rifle to Ruger for repair. This video is awesome, thank you. You can see exactly what you are doing. Anarchy should take a lesson out of your playbook.
Holy shit man...your video saved me, the removal tool slipped out and I thought I was done for I found a video showing how to get it back in, then I cam back here and watched this about 30 times....thank you sir!!!
Love it. I don’t think there’s any way I’m going through this without also going with an aluminum shroud at the same time. The tool looks like it makes a difference.
Thank you 👍 just got my anarchy outdoors bolt upgrade and dragon scale knob. Took like 5 minutes. Appreciate the help. To any other people who want to do this upgrade make sure and get the fire pin removal tool. Thanks, Casey
Excellent video I just pick up my ruger American Hunter in .308 with the magpul hunter stock. The bolt handle and knob came in last week from anarchy outdoors. My daughter's got me for Christmas the magpul bipod in m-lok. I bought myself a vortex diamondback tactical 6x24-50 scope. Now the only thing left to do is smuggle the rifle into the house without getting busted by my wife
I just did mine and the shroud came off right after the first click, so I continued by using a flat land plyer to continue the rest of turns to align properly to remove the firing pin and the original handle. Continued the rest of the process and after all done squeezed the shroud in place. Thanks for the very up close and clear video to follow the steps.
Wish Anarchy Outdoors would have done their instruction video half as good as you. They don’t even mention the ledge before they tell you to rotate and the view of the bolt and the amount of time they take to let you see what they are doing is like they are pulling a slight of hand Street corner magic trick on you. Job well done sir. Wish I would have watched you video 3 hours ago instead of trying to get ahead of Murphy law during my bolt handle swap for my American Ranch Rifle set up.
M carbo make great gear with perfect instructions , I fitted the model 70Win spring kit to my model 670 it gave my rifle a new lease of life .well worth the shipping to Australia 👍
Just got finished installing anarchy outdoors swept back bolt handle and bolt knob and shroud (without the tool) and I thought surely I done effed up 🤦♂️😡🤬. I sure could have used a third hand or that nifty little tool that I WILL BE buying here in just a second!! Without your video I would not have been able to get it back together. THANK YOU!!!! 🙏
I have replaced the bolt handle and knobs on all my rifles from anarchy outdoors. Tonight i thought i could do it from memory. I just efft up and the tool came out. No idea what to do now. You said in the comments that you would make another video to fix this.but i could not find it.. i was removing not stock cuz I have to send the rifle back to Ruger in the morning and this has to happen.
There should be all kinds of punctuation around the "keep tension on the firing pin removal tool" part. The firing pin spring is strong and when the tool slips out and the spring closes. Well it's a day full of fun getting the tool back in place so you can reassemble the bolt. Other than that great video. Thanks.
Don't forget that there is a .487 and .497 slot. you dont have to measure it. the 497 has a round knob, the 487 has a pear shaped ball with a flat spot at the end of the ball. they changed that slot that the bolt slide through..check it out on internet..
Hi, thanks for the great video. I'm having some trouble since the firing pin removal tool slipped out and I'm unable to get it back in firing pin mechanism. Can you help me out? 😅
No. The handle has no functional purpose other than pulling the bolt back. If you want smoother action get a different bolt or look at how people smooth them out with polish etc..
I can’t find it online, I want to change my stock bolt knob but it’s not the threaded type, it’s solid, so I need that same little tool to replace the whole handle, any info I would appreciate it, thanks!
I don't get it. Why would you remove a properly shaped bolt knob for a poorly shaped one that can't be palmed without digging into your skin. You work the bolt handle with the palm. You don't grab it with the fingers.
The bolt handle on my recently purchased Ruger American Predator is lame and appears smaller than older model Predators so I’m definitely swapping it out with an Anarchy !!
Sure is alot of extra work to something that is much easier. Way to many steps in replacing the bolt handle. I mean why are you turning it do much. And also take the tool and push up it will lock in the upright position and stay. I mean damn buddy who taught you to break this down.
Cole , I’m aware there’s couple ways of doing said operation. I messed with it until I could come up with a easy to follow route. I’ve done littered hundred of these for customers. And had to figure it out on my own due to the other terrible videos on you tube. Feel free to drop a link to the one you created .
