I am really digging the Scout rifle. It was probably one of the most heavily marketed rifles in the last couple of years. I have to admit that this one, at least for me, has lived up to the hype. I think it's smart to let go of that which doesn't really suit the individual. No sense having all the space and money tied up in a dust collector. Thanks for watching.
Very clever way to git 'er done...I had a Rem 700 adl in .223. The bolt had a most annoying squeak (sometimes upon opening the bolt - always upon closing the bolt) I tried several different types of gun lube to no avail. Truth is I wasn't especially fond of that rifle anyhow (no removable magazine and no floor plate) so I got rid of it. Your Scout rifle is a real beauty and well worth the effort to fix the problem. Well done
After the crazy action work I lubed it with Slip 2000 (which had been my go to lubricant for several years and I wanted a good before & after comparison). The action was greatly improved. In the last couple of weeks I have been switching over to Frog Lube on all my guns. I cleaned the Scout and degreased it (yet again) to remove the Slip 2K and treated it with Frog Lube. There was even further improvement in the action, nothing dramatic just slightly smoother.
I put the toothpaste on the bolt and receiver rails (basically everywhere there was metal to metal contact) and re-appled frequently. Once finished, cleaned her up thoroughly and put on two coats of Froglube. It's not glass smooth, but it's way better than it was out of the box and more than acceptable. Let me know how you make out with yours. Good luck and thanks for watching.
If you're making good grades in school you sure aren't a slacker. Both of my nephews barely graduated high school due to bad grades and poor attendance records. The walls would probably crumble if either of those two knuckleheads set foot in a college. So keep up the good work you might be employing my nephews someday.
Thank you and my nephews and their significant others. Now if we could just get these damn politicians to get a little bit creative we could start to turn the country around. Keep on with the politics brother, guns make us safer and debate makes us smarter.
