Polished and smoothed the feed ramp and the sharp edges on the barrel, removed the manual safety and the magazine disconnect and it runs great. If you've ever taken apart a KelTec you can take apart the LCP II 22 no problem at all. Highly recommend the Tandemkross Tool-Less Takedown Pin, all steel and no need to hard 'snap' the pin retaining spring with a screwdriver every time you want to take off the slide (which can cause the spring to break or come loose inside the grip)

Nice review! The safety will loosen up over time. Mine now clicks off very easily, and it's just a little stiffer to re-engage.

Quite a good review. Thanks. the 22LR sure has been of interest to me since it appeared, but I guess my 360s are as small a caliber as I'm willing to go. But, Ruger sure does attempt to be innovative, and that's much appreciated. You're rigid about the Hogue grips. I have one on my Bodyguard, as well as the GallowayPrecisiion +1 extension, and those two things make it far more comfortable and controllable. I'm guessing the same goes for the LCP 380. Thanks for taking the time to do the review. Subscribed.

I really appreciate the feedback. I certainly agree with your comment about Ruger's attempt at innovation. Better than most gun makers. Thanks for taking the time to respond and thanks for subscribing.

...er...meant 380s. Got 75 year old eyes and fingers, too. 🙄. Love my Bodyguard and EZ, but dearly love my Shield Plus and M&P 9c.

No problem. I have the same challenge. Hope you got a chance to take a look at my review of the S&W M&P 9c I did a couple of years ago. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-xV4gIrRnBsE.html

Good video…..My LCP 2 22LR likes round nose ammo for feeding…..Hollow points won’t expand any way out of this little gun anyway…..Sights were way off on mine so I sent it back to Ruger and they changed the slide and barrel….Sights still off so installed the Armalaser red laser and adjusted the laser to where the bullets go…CCI works very well and I found Aguila Super Extra round nose works very well too…..Nice easy shooting pistol for 1 handed shooting…….A laser sight is a big plus….😎👍

Great pistol, after 500 rounds will shoot most good ammo . Mine never fails with cci mini mags or cci standard velocity.
@mickmacstabletopreviews8466
Sorry Dave, just saw that I didn't respond to your comment. Yes indeed, like yours, my Ruger LCP 22 has been getting better with use and now it never fails with CCI mini mags. Picked one up, it's fun to shoot. I'll have a learning curve on how to 'polish the feed ramp' etc to improve performance. It's an exact copy of the Taurus TCP, bought it to make training affordable. It suffers the same issues -- just total unreliable Piece of ... well u know. Fail to feed, fail to fire. I'm a narrow kinda guy & totally mindful of small incursions of change, so even a 380 Glock is a tall order to carry daily. The LCP II without modification or customization is an excellent tool for how to deal with equipment / ammo failure -- ya just matter of factly perform the corrections & execute some effective fire until the next failure. The Taurus TCP and now the Ruger LCP II has a 'cult' following that swears by it's much improved reliability -- some after the slight modifications, so I continue to train with it & even carry at work daily. A POS Taurus onhand trumps a Sig back at the house. For anyone who may want to daily concealed carry a .22 ( or .22 Mag ), I would recommend the Smith & Wesson 351 PD. Very lightweight, very concealable and as reliable as the ammo it's fed. It's expensive but you'll only need to buy it once. And what is peace of mind worth.

@@mickmacstabletopreviews8466 Got a Hogue grip for the LCP 22 today -- love it. Got an extra & would you believe -- fits perfectly on the Taurus TCP. Got a 3rd original equipment Ruger mag ( for a grand total of three onhand ) for the .22 -- during night training tonight, kinda seems like one of the three makes a big difference in function That makes sense, as magazines made a BIG difference in jams ( or functionality ) of the M-16s during qualification. The 380 may have better effect on target, but the .22 ammo makes the LCP II so lightweight when carrying, I literally don't even notice it's there I train almost daily & in all environments. My latest evolutions include shooting on the move. Here's to hoping the LCP II & Taurus TCP achieve the improvement you've found ✌🏽

I'm might be the only guy who likes the safety. I pocket carry mine and find the safety easy to disengage prior to drawing it from the pocket.
@mickmacstabletopreviews8466
That could be. The safety on my Ruger LCP II 22 remains a little too stiff for my taste. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching. If you haven't already, I hope you'll check out my other "Mick Mac" Tabletop Review videos on RU-vid and Rumble.

I hope Glock will have a future gun in this size in 22LR. 😉
@mickmacstabletopreviews8466
While the G44 .22 mimics Glock's most popular G19, Glock's smallest gun, the G42 is unlikely to inspire a matching 22 version in my opinion. And even if it did, the G42 is almost an inch longer than the Ruger LCP II 22. But you never know. Thanks for watching and thanks for taking the time to comment. My buddy filed and wet sanded and polished and smoothed all of barrel and feed ramp and inside slide. That fixed all of the feeding issues he was having with standard velocity cci. Then,..a little white-out on the sights.

One would expect that to certainly help. Since I've continued to experience failures to feed I'll give that a shot. Thanks for watching and thanks for taking the time to comment. @@mickmacstabletopreviews8466 I have read from gunsmith's that feeding the polish ramp does not help. Failures in .22 are more likely magazine issues and using high velocity ammo. Does the Ruger Lcp .22 manual say to use high velocity ammo or standard? I have read online that it states to use high velocity. I am on the table about my .22 purchase. Just about every brand of .22 pistol has some kind of horror story lol
@mickmacstabletopreviews8466
@mickmacstabletopreviews8466 2 года назад
So far, that's been my experience. Polishing the ramp has not helped. I've tried standard and high velocity rounds and yet I typically have a failure to feed at least once every magazine. I've also heard that about the magazines themselves, but I'm not sure what to adjust for better feed so I've left things alone. Too bad. Otherwise its a nice little pistol. I'll keep working on it we'll see. Thanks for watching and thanks for taking the time to comment. Don't forget to like, share and subscribe. I agree about magazine issues. And that ammo probably varies. The barrel of his lcp2 .22 lr had sharp burrs and rough corners .After de-burring and wet-sanding and some TLC the action of slide and barrel lock-up was much smoother . He also smoothed out the inside of the slide,..put a corner-break on the chamber,..and smoothed the inside of the chamber. Pistol runs great now. And knowing him he probably wet-sanded the inside of the magazine and smoothed the followers too,

Well, you've inspired me to give polishing another try. I'll admit I didn't do it as well as I could. I'll give it a little more care and see what happens. If it works it would be well worth it. Thanks.

The hogue grip for the lcp two is terrible in my opinion compared to the one designed for the original lcp. Iv had a few issues with my lcp 2 .22 I have had the slide lock back prematurely almost every mag so sent it into ruger now she only does that sometimes. I need to do more testing on it.
@mickmacstabletopreviews8466
I've been told the Ruger LCP II .22 should get better with use, but mine still fails to cycle occasionally. I have a friend who's LCP II .22 never seems to have problem so I don't know what to say. As for the Hogue grips, I have both the LCP II and LCP II .22, but the grip on the LCP II .22 has a shorter grip span for my middle finger making it less comfortable. Thank you for watching.
