Good Video! Bought one of these a couple of months ago and glad I did. Got the factory trigger down to just over 2 pounds, put a Burris 4.5-14x42 on it. The CCI Blazer and CCI SV Target really shoot great groups in mine. It always makes me happy when cheap ammo does a wonderful job. The Lapua Center X and a few of SK types of ammo make a ragged hole at 50. I already have a sand bag/tabletop target rifle, so I made this one a hunting rifle. I know that some people say that it is a bit heavy to carry around but I shoot it just fine from truck tailgate and truck hood at ground squirrels, and using Federal American Eagle (red box) hollow points. It shoots the AE hollow points really accurately. I was picking off ground squirrels out to 125 yards with ease.

I adjusted mine down to 1.75# and it is crisp. It adds to accuracy b/c you aren't waiting for a break. It is a very accurate rifle. I get one hole ragged groups.

Several reviews say theirs went down to 2.5 lbs after adjustment so I was surprised to see you got down that low with original trigger.

nice shooting.groups! looking forward to next shot. Now I need to dig mine out from under the mess and take it out! I made the mistake of not cleaning it after shooting, got rust on the bolt, maybe it'll run smoother once I polish it out(I hope)

Really fun to shoot. Ill wait until the new big scope comes and reshoot these groups and add the fancy bullets that just came in.

Nice! Truth in advertising (precision), for a change. I was shopping scopes in person, at a "large box store". I was looking at Vortex 4x16. The counter assistant asked what I was thinking about mounting it on, as they offered free mounting and bore sighting. He didn't like my "an old Ruger 10/22" answer. Lol.

The manual suggests to not shoot Stinger's because of the chamber in the RPR.

Your groups are much better than I have seen on all the other reviews I have seen especially given the cheap bulk ammo. Federal Auto Match is cheap bulk plinking ammo and not match ammo. CCI SV does well for some as it is subsonic while supersonic ammo may cause destabilization of the projectible during transition from supersonic to subsonic when shot at 100 yards for more. Most seem to say their RPR has the best groups with one of the SK, Eley, or Lapua match grade ammos.

I just put an arken 6-24x50 with the ridged 20 moa mount on my RPR. I think it is a great setup for the price. I was only able to shoot out to 200 yards on to a 5x5 plate with the cci Standerds (aprox velocity 1127f/s (6.6mil come up)). My only complaint is the safety selector. It feels really stiff. Not sure if thats the way it is supposed to be. Hows your selector?
@EagleRun23
@EagleRun23 Год назад
I mean to mention the safety, I like that its normal to me from AR, and I like that its short throw too. I DONT like how stiff it is! you are right! How do you like the ARKEN? I am really anxious about it because it was so inexpensive. Worried it might suck. What sort of groups do you get at 200?
@davidbasco7076
@davidbasco7076 Год назад
@@EagleRun23 I own 3 so far. So don't worry about it sucking. I own 2 4-16 and 1 6-24. My only complaints is the 10 mill of horizontal adjustment adjustment, and some very slight distortion (if any on the edges) with the 6-24. As for the groupings at 200y. I was shooting in switchback winds ranging from 2-10mph. I would have to hold .5mil to 2mil depending on what direction the wind decides to blow. I was hitting around 60-70% so I don't think its a good indication on the accuracy of the groups, but I did look at the vertical stringing and it was around 2-4 inches. That is not bad considering the wind will push 22lr bullets up or down on a burm depending on the wind. Try to use the velocity (above) with a .13bc on your ap. You can zero at 25 or 50 with this setup. Have fun!

I'm new to your channel. I have the Arken SH4gen2 on my RPR, Timney one-half lb trigger. This rifle is just for fun shooting for me, I don't shoot in competition. I may be mistaken, but I thought the Ruger manual said to not shoot stingers in it ?

@@EagleRun23 I think part of the problem is the longer case "can" potentially damage the chamber, causing accuracy problems. I like stingers in some of my short barreled pistols because of the great ball 'o fire ! lol.

Hi Eagle, I saw on another YT video that the bolt wears in and becomes mega smooth with use, the only issue I can see is the clip on the bolt you can remove to give a longer throw gets bent up after a lot of use. Some say leave it on other say off. I don't imagine it would cost a lot to replace it if it does wear out. My only worry would be the damage it does internally if it does get bent and you leave it in. Regards from the UK

I put rubbing compound on the bolt and ran it through a whole bunch of cycles. After disassembly and a good cleaning it is as smooth as my CZ… a little slop but smooth. Adjust the trigger down to its lowest setting (around 2.5 lbs) and it will be a very suitable action.
