Ruination | Season 2021 Cinematic - League of Legends | Reaction 

Some Lore context here. The black gentleman with the dreads is named Lucian. He is a sentinal of light from Demacia (same place where those angels fought in Still here). Sentinals are basically Leagues equivalence to a Jedi. They hold relic weapons that shoot out magical energy. His wife is named Senna (the one who looks like Mel). Years ago, Senna was killed and her soul was captured inside a Villain's lantern. This Villain is named Thresh. Lucian wanting revenge, set his sights to kill Thresh in his domain called the shadow isles. There, Lucian fought Thresh and was able to damage his lantern. This caused a bunch of souls Thresh captured to be released, including his wife's soul. Senna returned back to life, but she is different. Inside Senna, holds a soul fragment of Isolde (Viego's dead wife). Viego was the king of a lost continnent from thousands of years ago called Camavor. His wife Isolde was poisoined by an assassins dagger, and ever since than, Viego became obsssesed in trying to bring her back to life. Viego brought Isoldes corpse to the Blessed Isle's where Thresh was working as a Monk. Viego's goal was to bring Isolde back from the dead by putting her body into the Fountains of Life in the Blessed Isles. Isoldes rotting corpse caused a major chain reaction where she corrupted the Blessed Isles and turned it into the Shadow Isles. Isolde momentarily came back to life and stabbed Viego in the heart with his sword. Viego died. but his spirit remained in the Shadow Isles. For thousands of years, he has been searching for his dead wife, traversing through the world inside the black mist. Wherever the black mist is, he can pretty much corrupt people and control them. Lucian's wife has a part of Viego's wife inside of her, which is why Viego said 'return my Queen.' Obviously after the battle, they couldn't defeat him alone and began a voyage to try and recruit more members to become Sentinels of light in order to defeat Viego. This is basically the Avengers level threat but Viego is not even close to being the most Powerful villain. The void and cosmic aspects/ascended beings and Darkin are world enders. VIego just wants his wife back and is willing to destroy everything to do so, but he isnt really a Villain. There are a lot of videos leading up to the ruination event if ya'll wanna watch it.

Great vid🙏 Hear me out...... Yall should watch "senna: dark passage" then "the climb season 2018 cinematic" then "shadows embrace". They're direct prequels and lead up to this cinematic. Theyre all pretty action packed too aside from the first one, which is only 40 seconds long and gives a bit of context to whats happening.

Tales of Runeterra playlist is def a must watch if you're interested in this world. One recommendation is to think about the dialog in "The lesson" one, most reactors miss actual meaning, but I think you have the potential to analyze it). Thank you for the videos!

Viego is far from the biggest threat. The biggest threat are the watchers (essentially leaders of the void), as they can bring about the end of reality itself. Also Viego isn’t doing this on his own, he has some people helping him and making his power stronger than he is. For the lore, there used to be an island off the cost of bilge water called the blessed isles. Bilgewater is where Yasuo and Ahri were going after the last cinematic, and is where ya find the pirate captain the dude with the shield are at in the ruined king cinematic. This place was called the blessed isles and was home to mages and a store of magical artifacts. They essentially found dangerous magical artifacts and safeguarded them in their vault to prevent misuse. One of those magic artifacts is a lake that can cure any sickness. Viego was a king of a nearby kingdom, Camavor, whose wife had been poisoned and fell sick. Viegos kingdom is actually not on the map, the whole world of runeterra extends beyond the map we currently have in game. We have only 2 main continents shown, and Viego is in a whole separate continent in the East. So Viego sends out a search party to find a cure for his wife, and he finds this place, his envoy reports this back to him, and he comes with his army to visit the place, bringing his wife with him. But by the time he gets there, his wife is already there. The mages of the blessed isles refuse Viego’s entry into their vault of magical artifacts as a result of this, but Viego with his army attacks the kingdom, and with the help of one of the wardens, Thresh (Thresh is the guy with a scythe and a lantern, you will see him when you start watching some other cinematics). Thresh leads Viego to the lake, and he places the dead Isolde in there, unleashing a gust of necromantic magic. Viegos sword is a very special sword of Camavor (it’s passed down from king to king), and it has the power to draw in souls, the lake essentially resurrects his dead wife but she’s not fully alive, fully dead, she becomes an undead being, and she essentially Pierce’s Viego with his own sword, because she did not want to be resurrected, perhaps she did not want to be with him, perhaps she didn’t love him at all, killing Viego, and as a result this magic along with all the different magic artifacts in the vault caused an explosion of magical powder so strong in turned the blessed isles, into the shadow isles. And each year a gust of mist is exhaled from the blessed isles into neighboring islands. Most affected is bilgewater because it’s so close where they have to fight the undead literally every year. This event is called a harrowing. And I believe a harrowing over all of runeterra, is called a ruination, and this is what Viego causes here. He’s not everywhere at the same time, but he can travel through the mist, and thus where the mist is, so is he and his will.
