Primordial has this in the bag. The fact is that it still managed to defeat a full-power Gaismagorm and the Qurio swarm despite being in a severe disadvantage size and number-wise respectively. It's going to dispose of Ruiner with little effort. Just look at what it did to poor Velkhana. He hit her with the nastiest combo of her life. Those black spikes aren't going to do shit against those shield wings considering a Hellfire blast, a spear tail and an ice laser at full blast were shrugged off with no effort. And this isn't like some boosted Malzeno either, this is what they're supposed to be by default. The ones we fought before were weakened by the Qurio, yet it still throws Vekhana and Scorned Magnamalo around. If anything, we were fighting it while it was in a disadvantage due to the Qurio's interference. TL;DR - Primordial wins because it's already succeeding in its goals while dealing with outside interference constantly. Nergigante's species meanwhile can't even clutch a 2-v-1, while Primordial won against a raid boss and Fatalis-knows-how-many Qurios.

Lorewise I'd give this one to Prime Malzeno. While both of them are capable of beating elder dragons that are more threatening, Malzeno handles Gaismagorm all by itself which is more impressive than Nergi finishing Shara after waiting it to be worn out. Malzeno also naturally posseses dragon element which gives it the edge.

Nobody has the answer between us, but if we try to follow the lore, technically Nergigante is built by the ecosystem to kill other elder dragons when they are too much, so, it needs to be a lot stronger then other elders to literally eat them, Malzeno probably included. Furthermore, as the wiki says, only its presence is capable of scare the fuck out of the elders causing them to invade other territories in order to not cross Nergigante, moreover, it's attracted by large amounts of bioenergy, which it needs (a lot) to reproduce, attacking extremely powerful monsters to feed itself to do that. On the other hand the wiki attribute to Malzeno the only purpose in nature to keep in check the qurio, and as we can see, not fulfulling the task. There's not really something to say about Malzeno, except that it is just stronk. I like both honestly, but until the devs speaks clear we can just fantasize/hypothesize about it.

@madeleinegamy7267

That is just a head canon the real reason for why nergi hunts elders is for their bio energy as stated by the lore book and the developers.
@eren7kruger129
@eren7kruger129 10 месяцев назад
Nergigante is absolutely not a lot more powerful than other elders. He is just built/evolved in a way that counters them by being relentless and having more physical strenght than most of them. Espinas is very well able to defeat Kushala Daora in combat, however in it's own it's not clearly a stronger monster. It has the edge over Kushala because it has adaptations that happen to counter it. Nergigante starts to have a harder time when facing monsters that have a lot of physical strenght, as he's better at facing monsters that rely more to elements like fire. Savage Deviljho in the Iceborne lorebook is stated to be equal in power to Ruiner Nergigante after all. Malzeno infact is a different story than most other elders because he is not a element based dragon like Teostra

This was a fun video, comparing these two new fan favorites. If they were to ever actually meet, I think Ruiner is stronger than Primordial until the qurio come in. The raw brutality and strength of a Nergigante is just unmatched. Primordial may be a bit smarter though and is way more agile so it definitely has more than a chance if it plays it right. If Qurio get involved though Primordial just becomes a different more savage and relentless beast, so it'll just become hard for Nergiante to keep up.

Since the Qurio were Gaismagorms thing & have been dealt with other Primordial Malzeno, or just 'Malzeno' as the varient is actually the original Monster, wouldn't have access to the symbiotic benefits or additional power granted by the afflicted state the Primordial we fight enters. So putting any and all Qurio related abilities in a box we're left with base Primordial anatomy & abilities. • It's still agile & fast though no unable to morb like it's Quriod counterparts. At it's base still makes him more mobile than nergi by comparison, nergis at his fastest during his divebomb but doesn't shine as being notably fast at any other point or attack, whereas base Primalzeno is fast enough to stull pull off multicombos. This info in mind makes more Primo more mobile than Nergi overall imo, putting a point in Primalzenos corner. • It has very tough skin/scales which allow it to use its wings like shields, no doubt this extends to other parts of his body too, which Nergis spikes atleast at their least dense stage I think would have trouble piercing, though his hardened silver & black spikes may just break that defence if used aggressively enough, that along with Nergis fast regeneration & hardening of these spikes I think puts a point in Nergis corner on this one. • Primalzeno fights with a knightactics, using his wings like a sword & shield & his tail like a spear, pairing this intelligent offensive & defensive style with his agile & aggressive movement I believe definitely gives him an initial advantage or Nergis rock 'em sock 'em very brutish & barbaric style. (A Knight vs Viking kinda vibe goin on here) Again with Nergis impressive regenerative capabilities I personally think that pairing this with his combat style is the equaliser here, otherwise Primalzeno would have the advantage outright. So both of them get a point in their corners here. • Though its scales make for a great defense, Primalzeno is more of a slender beast as opposed to Nergis more bulky thiccboi nature, obviously this plays into the mobility of either monster however I do believe that with nergis considerable Brute strength, if he gets a good pin on Primalzeno he could cause some serious breakage beneath the hide or even tear apart membrane from wing or even wing from torso. This however might prove a difficult stratagem just due to how much quicker Primalzeno is. • My final point is their lifestyles, we know Primalzenos territory is the citadel so we can gather it'll fend off Elder & none Elder alike if it must, as for it's diet it hasn't been noted to eat any too significant, but as it can easily keep the likes of a Rathalos caught between it's jaws it's safe to say large monsters are on the menu so it would contend with them regularly. Nergi however, eats Elder Dragons. Elder Dragons are a whole other ball game to most of your large monsters & nergi is known to hunt down, kill & eat them on a regular basis & doesn't seem to discriminate as to size or species, and it eats particularly powerful ones at that given Nergi originates out of The New World where the oldest, most experienced & as a result, most powerful elder Dragons go to live their last & die. This dietary information along with the sheer breadth of threats it entails, I believe puts this last point in Nergis corner, especially Ruiner Netgi which has to have slain & eaten many an Elder Dragon, giving it more varied battle experience. Ruiner Nergigante vs Primordial Malzeno (NOT Quriously morbed) Ruiner Nergigante wins high diff. Ruiner Nergigante vs Primordial Malzeno (Quriously Morbed) Primordial Malzeno wins high diff.

Fair analysis. I would argue for P.Mal by saying that it fended off Gaismagorm w/o aid of the Qurio, who was more than capable of destroying incredibly massive chunks of land (as evidenced by Sunbreak's titular crater) just as part of its natural life cycle. How powerful is Gais is up to debate. Some say he's 1st-Class, some say he's a little below (in the upper-most echelons of Elder Dragons). Both rankings of which equate to or overshadow Shara, whom of which Ruiner killed a weakened specimen of (just fought a hunter, so not at peak strength). Thusly, it is uncertain if Ruiner could handle a peak Shara. Additionally, the Malzeno who snatched a Rathalos out of the sky is likely significantly weakened by prolonged exposure to Qurio. If you look at both models of P.Mal and Malzeno, you may notice how Malzeno seems frailer and more atrophied than the more robust P.Mal. It appears almost as if the Qurio slowly deteriorate their host even after an apparent symbiotic match. So the physical prowess of Malzeno likely does not equal P.Mal's. Thusly, it isn't out of the realm of possibility that P.Mal can eat the occasional Elder that enters its domain given how handily P.Mal batters Velkhana in their turf war. However, the Elder Dragons in the New World are notably powerful ones/ones on the verge of death (don't remember exactly which). The New World, lore-wise, is a gathering point for such Elders, meaning its ecosystem is very well saturated in them. Nergs, both standard and Ruiner, regularly hunt these particular specimens. So they DEFINITELY have more experience dealing with Elders. However, both have likely haven't crossed paths (or at least from what we know), so they aren't likely to be privvy to how each fight. This could give as much an edge to Ruiner as it can to P.Mal. Ruiner is unrelenting aggression whilst P.Mal revolves around well-spaced barrages. P.Mal would assail Ruiner from a range it would have issue contesting against, but the moment Ruiner could get close, it can very well do massive damage. It is hard to say. However, I personally believe P.Mal would come out of the scrap based upon its handling of Gaismagorm. If there is any info I missed or am wrong about, please do let me know. Good day.

@teacupbirb4711 Taking Gaismagorm into account we know PMal fended off Gaismagorm & reppeled it to the depths but failed to kill it outright, Gaismagorm though huge & wuth a breadth of abilities at it's disposal is certainly lumbering & slow & putting Primalzeno against as a size difference Primalzeno is still quite large itself, but has a massive amount of mobility also on it's side meaning it would have an easier time evading & darting around Gaismagorms movements etc. I also think given that Primalzeno gains access of a breadth of new qurio abilities mid fight with us, a similar occurrence will have likely happened in Primalzenos fight with Gaismagorm also, aiding in it's victory over it in a twist of fate on Gaismagorms part, it's own weapon being turned against it. As for Ruiner Nergi vs Shara I do think it has a good shot of defeating it, as we know the Hunter hunted both that Ruiner Nerg & Shara, leaving both of them in weakened states, Ruiner Nerg even out cold after our fight with it & seemingly consumed by the crumbling earth around it. It displayed intelligence enough that we know it was following Shara, waiting for it to surface at some point so we can gather he can't do much while Shara is covered in it's earthly mantle, but during the cutscene post us defeating Shara, he take the opportunity to strike & take the killing blow. Now I certainly don't think he fully regenerated after our fight with him so even then he himself was in a weakened state, asserted dominance before us then flew off elsewhere as though he was healthy enough to do so. So I think a healthy Ruiner vs a healthy (unmantled) Shara would be a fight more or less in his favour, as just like Gaismagorm, Shara isn't the most agile of beasts. So when it comes to Ruiner vs base Primordial I'm still in the camp that Ruiner would take a win most of the time, just not without difficulty. But would definitely in most cases lose to a Quriod Primordial. A fight between then aside though I'm still Qurious about the Qurios xD Their obviously a seperate species to Gaismagorm. We know Gaismagorm apparently used to be a monster capable of flight, and it has eyes so it's not a creature born subterranean. The Qurio don't have eyes indicating that they are born subterranean, lacking a need for them like Khezu. So my imagining & im sure most other peoples too is that Gaismagorm was also in a forced symbiosis with them & thusly retreated to the underground where the Qurio originate from & just like Malzeno, its body deteriorated overtime into what is now. I wonder if a 'Primordial' Gaismagorm of sorts under fresh symbiosis would be even more powerful than the one we fight, similar to how Primordial Malzeno is much stronger than Malzeno. Now that's a Monster I'd like to see! The Qurio are both leech & lampray-like creatures too so I do wonder what would happen if they achieved symbiosis with a Nergigante, would the symbiosis completely counteract or nullify Nergis natural regeneration or would it somehow work in tandem with it? 🤔 Could it turn out to be a perfect symbiosis or just another Risen situation? I may draw this in concept, it sounds pretty cool!

@teacupbirb4711 10 месяцев назад
@@Cap_The_Captain Interesting. We also have to consider the sheer might that would come from forcing Gaismagorm underground. As we saw in Sunbreak, it took a barrage of dragonators, ballistae, and cannonfire before being pushed off by a well-placed explosive dragonator. So P.Mal might have some considerable physical might behind his lankier frame. Not as much physical might as Ruiner, but enough to perhaps wrestle itself out of Ruiner's grip every now and then. Ruiner's regen is definitely a massive hurdle. At times it seems instant, and at other times it seems it takes time. Not exactly sure where the limit on its regen lies, given that Nergs allegedly reproduce by the spikes that get stuck in the ground. That implies a crazy regeneration ability akin to characters like Hulk or Wolverine. A Qurio-Nerg union, I feel, would essentially make a Nergigante with incredible physical might, but a hindered/slowed regen as it fights against the Qurio eating away at it. It could be shown with the spikes growing slower, or not growing at all. Instead, the Nergigante gets the Furious Rajang treatment where its ferocity and strength is amped up to 11. The notion of a Gaismagorm given flight is an intriguing idea given Gaismagorm's appearance is more or less based upon the Devil. So a flight-based Gais could be representative of Lucifer Pre-Fall. Something like a Seraphic Gaismagorm sounds like a fun fight. Liking this conversation here. Good day.

Primordial Malzeno WITHOUT Qurio is almost equal to Ruiner Nergigante. However Ruiner is still slightly stronger as he is specifically built to take on other Elder Dragons, and probably no other similar size Elders can match him in Brute Strength. He also got the healing factor, so in a war of attrition, Ruiner is gonna come out on top. However Primordial with Qurios is a different story, in that case it's new ranged attacks will give it an edge over Ruiner. Not to mention it's enhanced speed will help make it's attacks hit further harder. Conclusion? Ruiner wins if Primordial doesn't have Qurios. Once Primordial gets Qurios, it's game over for Ruiner.

@@madeleinegamy7267 bro Primordial Malzeno beats Velkhana and ties with Malzeno. Velkhan also ties with Malzeno. The turf wars are often not a correct indicator of power as the devs maybe just wanted a new turf war between Iceborne flagship and Sunbreak flagship. Cause if you are bringing turf wars then PriMalzeno uses fucking QURIO BEAM against Malzeno even though the Qurio Beams are restricted to it's later forms. So the turf wars aren't always accurate. What am trying to say is Ruiner and Velkhana are both flagships of World and Iceborne, of course Capcom won't show Ruiner beating Velkhana, on the other hand Velkhana in Sunbreak is not a flagship anymore so the devs can make her lose to another monster. In Iceborne lorebook Ruiner is literally mentioned as the APEX of Guiding Lands, which means it's actually stronger than Velkhana despite what the turf war shows (which of course is because both are flagships, so both must tie), only Savage Deviljho and Furious Rajang are mentioned to come close in terms of brute strength, and even then they cannot beat Ruiner in a war of attrition as Ruiner can handle such power with no drawbacks while Savage gets hungry over time and Furuous cannot maintain red arms mode for so long. Also, we are comparing monsters from two different games, Iceborne was a MUCH slower game, so Ruiner's movements were much slower. If Ruiner was brought to Sunbreak am pretty sure his moveset would had been updated to be faster or stronger as the devs feel it necessary, just like how they updated Velkhana. And last thing, PriMalzeno canonically couldn't even kill Gaismagorm, it only managed to repel it lmao. On the other hand the Iceborne NPCs in the ending cutscene tells us specifically that Ruiner was LOOKING OUT to hunt down Shara Ishvalda. If it wasn't for the Research Commission, Ruiner would have handled Shara anyways cause that's his role: to maintain the ecosystem. In the end, Ruiner is still the eater of elders and the ecosystem purifier of an ENTIRE continent. While Primordial Malzeno, albeit being strong, still can't match Ruiner in terms of brute strength. Not to mention it's speed is average when without the Qurios, ir Nergi grabs a hold of PriMalzeno it's game over.

In Rise, there was, so they need to account for the hunter's increase in speed by increasing monster's speed (which they definitely failed at in the early game, but they've made up for it in sunbreak) I guarantee that if they ever port ruiner nergigante to a game with rise's fast movement and wirebugs, they will scale up his speed and power so much he will kick your ass.

Definitely nergi. He is the bane of elder dragons after all. But if there’s any normal sized elder dragon that will give nergi a fight, it had to be valstrax. He’s literally fighting a jet fast enough that can speedblitz dive bomb him from afar.

Nergigante is reliable for consistent appearances through its useful ecological niche. Malzeno (and Gaismagorm) is only as relevant as the Qurio. Without them, the nuances of its presentation aren't compelling.

Malzeno wins. Think he's fighting a stronger version of the EDs (they has more and dangerous moves) and in the battle vs Kush and Teo had less problems than Nergi. Also, Nergi has the turf war advantage to deal damage, meanwhile Malzeno only has this with Velkhama Also in lore Malzeno is definitely stronger so I think the winner is clear

As much as I love Primordial Malzeno, you need to remember that he is an elder dragon, and the Nergigante is known as "The Elders Eater" no matter how agile or strong the prey is, the predator will always adapt to subdue it.

Just because he is called the eater of elders doesn’t mean he automatically beats all elder dragons bye going with your logic he apparently can beat every single elder dragon including black dragons since they are still elder dragons.
