@@lunardian8082 Because then they wouldn't do anything. They don't see each other because they weren't designed to ever interact. They are both fighting the player and the player is there to bait them into hitting each other with attacks. This isn't really a true fight because they aren't actually aggro'd on each other. If the player put the Invisibility Cloak on, they both would either sit there or both go looking for the player. The real question for the channel owner is, if you are going to mod shit at all, why half ass it? Mod it so that the monsters are hostile to other monsters so we can see a true fight and not just two monsters accidentally hitting each other while trying to hit the player...

Both of them didn't attack each other... that's why the hunter had to be invulnerable and stand between the two so the attacks hit. Monsters aren't programmed to interact with alatreon and alatreon doesn't interact with monsters

That's what baffles me😂 People keep mentioning that nergigante didn't do well because it didn't target alatreon. Alatreon didn't target nergigante either and still wiped it. It would be the same if they actually fought

Nope, Nerg AI doesn't recognize Alatreon and vice versa you can tell because they only try to attack the player. Normally in the game Monsters will see one another, these two don't. Nergigante was barely doing any attacks at all, normally you'd be having to constantly move to avoid catching a fist upside the head. He's not even spamming them like he normally does, Alatreon busy running it's normal attack pattern which are a lot of AoE moves. Of course Nerg health pool was also reduced, this might have to wait for AI routines to be implemented for it be an actual fight.

Alatreon's attacks are designed to be hard to avoid by hunters. This means that often, it is several attacks layered next to each other. Obviously, with how hunters work, getting hit by one means not getting hit by anything else for a while (except Escaton, but that does no damage), but with monsters which have active hitboxes no matter what? Alatreon mulches them.

I mean, any monsters AI wouldn't fight Alatreon. He appears no where else so no monster would be programmed to even attack him like they do otherwise to other monsters. Same goes for Alatreon, he isn't coded to fight monsters directly i would imagine

If placed in a common area like guiding lands or ancient forest they might have behaved differently... tho that can introduce some other issues like Alatreon glitching out due to lack of the specific coordinate it's supposed to be standing on (the center point of the secluded valley) when Escaton Judgement is triggered.

@@adamjsher04 exactly that... safi'jiiva vs any monster will be the same. The arena has nothing to do with it and alatreon isn't programmed to fight monsters. Nergigante on the other hand isn't programmed to fight alatreon so it doesn't work

They never attacked each other because they're not programmed to. That's why theres an invincible hunter between them. But even so... nergigante kept getting flinched so of course It barely attacked. Alatreon has no cooldown between attacks

Actually elderly black dragons are stronger: white fatalis is a really ancient fatalis, and it became much stronger than any elder dragon, even alatreon. Even wounded / angered fatalis are stronger than normal.

@@fernystein9516 a bit late, but White Fatalis isn't an elderly Fatalis. It's an old Fatalis subspecies. Should be clear by it having a completely different element when Fatalis only has fire, but the Notebook about the forbidden monsters also say that White is a subspecies of Fatalis far older than the Species that destroyed Schrade.

Even if they had the same health, Alatreon cranks out attacks *much* faster and more numerous than any of Nerg's anyway.

@Judith George this shows that nergi never had a chance; no matter how much you change the A.I and it makes for an interesting match up between alatreon and safi; becuz Safi is no pushover

@@MonsterSlayerSquad I love how consequently these fights are becoming a battle of the AOE more than anything else. In this particular matchup, the monsters didn't even acknowledge each other's existence since their AI is not designed to do so, but of course Alatreon wins because of its massive AOE that destroyed nergi passively. Ala vs safi would be interesting because although they won't recognize each other, it will be interesting to see how one out AOEs the other

@@WisdomAkpan211 I have feeling that Safi would win just because of the heal mechanic, if that's not there it's gonna be Alatreon

Escaton is coded to only deal about 300 damage, completely ignoring all defensive stats. Monsters tend to not have that much defense, so it's fairly weak on them. Sapphire and Ecliptic also have that same effect, but they're coded to instantly kill the player on contact in addition to that. To my knowledge, that bit of the code does not work on other monsters.

@M. Rizky thank you for checking out our channel, yes the size of Iceborne Alatreon is different to its Old World counterpart. However monsters like Alatreon with a single defined size (i.e. no gold crown sizes) usually can only appear in that size.

@@abysswalker3891 I know we've never seen them fight. Just taking note that Fatalis and Alatreon aren't alone and that there is one more Black Dragon since so many strongly consider Alatreon to be 2nd strongest while also forgetting that Dire miralis exists.

@GunlessSnake Alatreon has moves that combine so well together and this gives it a huge advantage. Ruiner Nergi alomost looks five or six steps behind Alatreon on every clash they have.

While that would make sense but remember the hunter is still HUMAN and while full power judgment will one shot the hunter , monsters like nerei will survive it because of their durability and size to survive it trust me I wish the same too but then it would not be even fair the fight would end quickly u know what I mean?

@@gamer4life552 realistically in lore, EJ would most likely incinerate any monster caught in it. However this is all gameplay restricted, and EJ was specifically designed to only drain player health; not interact with monsters at all. If it did, yeah it would be a short fight, but considering Alatreon is a BD, it would make complete sense that Nerg would be obliterated by an all elemental combined blast.

@@dart.115 With safi's nova yes it would be a quick fight because it instakills no matter what. But eschaton just does high dps. It'd do something like ten times the damage of his basic attacks. Yeah we're still limited by some of the game's coding but maybe it's a simple task for a modder? I mean we are looking at a ruiner spawned in the secluded valley right here. While attacks whiff through the player.
