I know I shouldn't feel this way but the fighting part was my favorite part of the whole show when they would go out and kick enemies butt with those machine guns and grenades. I found the action part of the show to be a real treat.
@otto Lincoln Eh, It's just one of those things you gotta suspend your disbelief. It was the 80's and early 90's so MACV-SOG wasn't as well understood by the public. I always just told myself that because the unit got into so many extraordinary situations, command saw their value and made some kind of huge exception for them.
@otto Lincoln Oh absolutely, I agree 100%. Like I said we have to suspend our disbelief. This would have never happened in real life. Macv-SOG was a unit made up of Spec ops dudes. I don't think there was a single infantryman in that group. But like I said, since it's a show from the 80's, we already know it's inaccurate but have to take it for what it is. Maybe they received green beret training off screen. I doubt it but TOD is such an out there show I wouldn't be surprised if they jumped that shark. MACV-SOG or a normal infantry platoon, it's still one of the greatest Vietnam shows of all time.
