This beautiful 1980 Murray Moped, powered by a Puch E50 Engine, got into a crash and was run over by a lifted truck. Then it was left outside to rot where the engine was ultimately flooded. Now let’s see how quickly I can get it running and take it for a ride!

Puch/Kromag. Very similar to my 1979 Sears Free Spirit Deluxe. Mine is the 2.0 hp 30 mph model, Bing #68 jet, 15 x 45T sprockets. Has the Puch snowflake cast wheels. I found it at an estate sale. It was complete, still has the plastic sidecovers, with under 1000 miles on it. The frame and tank are exactly the same, except the rear part of the frame. Mine has a longer seat, and a tiny little bolt on luggage rack. Since the center stand was broken, I hope the bottom engine case is ok. The center stand bolts onto the lower case, and I've seen them broken from people standing or sitting on them while they are on the center stand. The stand was not meant to support the weight of the rider. Nice to see someone willing to go to the time and effort to get something like this back in running condition.

Is it worth it? Too much work.

Probably not. These bikes were very cheaply / poorly made in a USA Factory back in the 80’s.

It is absolutely worth it. There used to be millions of these bikes around back in the '70s and '80s. There are very few left. There is nothing cheaply/poorly made about them. They were NOT made in the U.S. They were made by Puch/Kromag in Austria, and sold under different brand names by department stores in the U.S.
