We were excited to be a part of the Runaway Camper Homecoming Rally this year near Ocala, FL. We camped for 2 nights with about 65 other Runaway camper owners. It was fun to meet some great people from the Runaway community. Since the campers come with basically a blank slate, everyone has made them their own with DIY modifications and decorating styles. Loved all the great ideas!

Very cool video. The Homecoming Rally was wonderful. I had a great time. Sorry I didn't get to meet you guys. There was so many people. Thank you I missed out on the information to sign up to come, so it was great to see how others have set up the outside tents. I have seen last years videos which is why I bought one so I could be apart of the rally. Great video!!

I had seen your video several times but just realized that the fairy lights seemed to be held up by tape. You can purchase some upholstery pins from stores like Joann’s. They won’t damage the ceiling and would almost be invisible. Great video.

Thanks for the video as I have been planning for several months towards ordering our Runaway trailer later this year, and we plan to pick up just a day or so before the 2021 Runaway Homecoming. It is nice to see what everyone has done with their trailers and gives us plenty to think about.

Fantastic video! You got footage of campers and setups that I didn't even get to glance at, being over on the more easterly side. (It took real determination to traverse the entire camp, and not linger, chatting it up with folks nearby, didn't it!) So thank you for the peeks into all the "rigs"! 🤭. You've piqued my interest in the autumn rallies; hopefully I'll be able to roll along those miles from the West and arrive in time. Your video really caught the Rally spirit!

Great video! How did the CVT do pulling the "rig"? I have considered a runaway but have not seen a forester pulling one. We have a forester and would like information from someone that uses one to pull the camper. Thanks for the video! Have been watching Hangin with Herky, but they show where they have been mostly, but enjoy that too.

Our Forester pulls it great. It doesn't have a huge tow capacity so that is part of the reason we went with the 4'x8' model, because of the weight. The new 2020 models are lighter so I think you'd be able to pull either size unit.

It's a FireDisc. We love it. It is the only thing we use for cooking when we are camping. No extra things to bring like a propane stove or pots.

Do the 2020 runaway campers differ in construction? I heard panels are no longer plywood covered in aluminum, but now a fibreglass panel?

That's correct. The 2020's are made from composite materials with no wood.

Where are the events posted? I just got a used 2018 RRR yesterday and it is pretty stock. There are so many ideas at these events to rif on, I'd like to get my way to one in the US Northeast. My minimum set of equipment includes a combo stove/oven to make cinnabons in the oven in the morning - the height of living.

There are several Facebook Runaway sites. They usually cross post the events. A few group names are Runaway Camper Owners' Club, RCO Runaway Camper Rallies, Gatherings & Camping Events, Runaway Camper Owners. Then depending on where you live, there is an RCO page for you region. We are in RCO - Southeastern. Ooh, I'd love to make cinnamon rolls when we are camping. That's a great idea! Hope to see you out at a rally!

Hi. Just bought a ridge runner. What type of sofa bed is that? Do you recommend? Where did you purchase it?

We purchased it from Runaway. It's nice to setup in couch mode if needing to hang out in it during the day. However, we added a foam topper to make it more comfortable to sleep and that makes it more difficult to switch easily between couch and bed so we tend to keep it in bed mode most of the time.

Runaway held a smaller homecoming last month but because of covid we decided not to attend. Last year’s was before covid really hit. We will be at a rally in Georgia in May though!!

Sorry, I am unsure about any upcoming rally's in Texas. It would be best to join a few Runaway facebook groups so you hear about them.
