Runaway Camper In Sleeping Bear Dunes On M22 Along Lake Michigan! (Part 2)

Runaway and Seemore, with us, as we continue our attempt to travel the M22, in our tiny camper, along Lake Michigan without any advanced reservations. We stop and visit several attractions, small towns and try to stay at state campgrounds along the way in Michigan. In this second portion of our trip, we visit Leland (Fish Town), Carlson's Fish, Newport, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Glen Arbor, Cherry Republic, M22 Store, Moomers Homemade Ice Cream, Traverse City and Sterling State Park. One campground offers sounds of planes, trains and automobiles. Stay till the end to see a homemade spit where some campers are cooking 100 pounds of pork. It is actually so steep that people have to crawl up from the bottom. The girl we seen had been at it for 1.5 hours. Crazy.

We love this area. And that smoked whitefish is so delicious!! Glad you guys found a spot. We love Traverse City State Park, we haven't been to Sterling State Park. Happy travels!

Fish Town was not as big as I thought it would be. Not sure how I would feel about the fish sausage. What did you think? The beaches are so beautiful there! Nice work doing the entire trip with no reservations!!

Thanks bunches. I am actually not a huge fish eater. It has to be mild, like a cod. The fish sausages are the long sticks that are shaped like a pepperoni stick in the fish case. While I was scared to taste it, it was actually shockingly delicious! You are right the beaches are beautiful.

Remind me of when I stayed down on the Gulf coast and the campground there used to have trees everywhere but they all got taken out by a hurricane. Just desolate of trees. The ash bug killed my pine trees and my Ash trees... so sad.

Thanks for watching and supporting our channel. We were amazed that we were able to do it with no reservations in advance. It was part of the adventure. The costs were on average $20 for primitive and $38 for electric. It was a wonderful time. Happy Camping! 🌸

We missed fish Town. Is it the best Ice cream shop . We live traverse city s.p but we have to get the sites up front too many sites surrounded by trees and the road is tight

Fish town is in Leland. It is really neat to visit. Yes. The ice cream was awesome. I understand how tight the sites can be in traverse city. The train track was literally right behind the trees at our site. While very busy it was conveniently located. Thanks for supporting our channel. 😊Happy camping!
