I only hope they keep the same ambience we had il the 4; a town with good people, a lot of backstory and story, and where the characters doesn't exist just to be around the hero; having a lot of interaction between them. In the 4th, the town and the townspeople seems to exist before and even without the hero, not for the hero. (I hope people could understand what I want to say). It was a warm environment
It is disappointing but greatful that RF5, will improve graphics. I did enjoy playing rf4. It is one of the best series out there. Did not like my character image but I have seen worse. Like having to once more play a boy..ungh..by the time the option to be a girl comes up? I'm ready to play another game. These authors have problems with female characters and they need to get over that. The supporting female characters are diverse? It looks like we are playing Annette? Not a strong character but we will see. This was the same problem with early HM. The male options were pretty creepy in the beginning. Thankfully improved in my favorite HM Animal Parade. Ha,ha, remember in Magical Melody the male character ran around in what looked like toddler pants! So sad but a bit hilarious also. The girl wasn't much better while the supporting characters looked so much better.
@@pennyc11 The best thing about RPGs like this is that you get to make your female character as you want them. If you want them to be strong, make them strong.
I don't mind if there's little character customization for Rune Factory as opposed to SoS. Since RF main characters are actual written characters with their own personalities and SoS mcs are pretty much your own seld insert character
I actually already prefer Martin over Reinhart since I really like these quiet characters. He reminds me of jin from hometown story and has a little bit of kross from frontier who if you could have played as a girl I would have married because he deserves more love^^
I'm afraid to speculate on who I'm going to marry because I did that with Rune Factory 4 before it came out and part way through it (Dylas was my chosen), but through the course of the story line I got to know Leon and Doug and I actually had a bit of a crisis choosing between the three. I ultimately broke things off with Dylas and married Doug (who I originally didn't like). Doug just became an absolute sweetheart and his proposal melted my heart! The characters in RF4 were SO GOOD! I hope the characters in 5 are going to be just as fleshed-out, interesting!

Waiting for RF5 to be finally released in the US is gonna be a real torture. 😅 The graphics, scenery, characters and combat style look so freaking awesome so far and I can't wait for year 2021 to begin!🤩🤩 I'd love to see what kind of story in RF5 will develop this time around!😁😁❤
I hope the crafting system does this tweak: *Bring back the interactive interface used in RF Frontier and Tides of Destiny crafting system* And to please both fans, *have an option where you can either choose auto or manual when crafting* *Auto mode* is the familiar mode used in RF4 where your success rate/energy consumption of a recipe is based on your craft Lv and recipe level *Manual mode* is the RF Frontier mode where you, the player, need to time a button press when crafting. Land in the safe zone for a regular success or Land in the critical zone (if available) for a super success.
Agreed, I never buy limited editions but the Little Nightmares 2 and Rune Factory 5 limited editions are/were must buy for me. As soon as RF5 LE goes on sale I'm buying it

I can guarantee that Rune Factory 5 will have guest characters literally every Rune Factory game has had guest characters from the previous game (after the first one), typically 2 guest characters 1 from the game that released directly before as well as 1 from some other game that released before
@Banana_Muffin I've been thinking about this a bit on and off, and I think it would be cool to see representation from Tides of Destiny (aka Oceans in japan) as it was the last console RF game to be made (and the art style is very similar) I'm thinking either Mikoto, Elena, or Violet would be cool, Maybe James or Joe if they wanted to have some Bachelor representation, typically speaking "main character" NPCs don't get the guest treatment (so like we'll probably never see Mist as a guest character)
I’ve accepted that I definitely have a type in these games and Martin is ringing all those bells. Mei from rf1, Dorothy from rf2, (haven’t played three yet, and Dylas from rf4. I’m pretty sure my type is very clear in these games and i’m not ashamed anymore. 😤👌 I’m a sucker for whatever you would call these types.
Of course we'll get a cameo from someone from 4, but something that bothers me about 4 is the lack of online connectivity....all the previous ones had some sort of online feature but weirdly not 4...hope 5 does have something

Well there's some good news. So far all the known bachelors/bachelorettes have been given chibified versions. Among the chibified characters are mr talk dark and handsome and mr kitsune man.

The fox reminds me of the two guardians on top of the leon karnak, those huge red and blue detailed stone kitsune that you have to fight in RF4. What if that's them fused or something?

Hold on hold on hold on i haven't seen anything about that kitsune thing before but that has the EXACT markings Leon has in his face (I'm sure someone has already pointed this out), and I always figured those were on for some religious reason (though in hindsight it could just be one of his "Guardian charactistics") and I've been trying to figure out how RF5 is going to fit because we've already gone through all four Native Dragons and I'm not completely sure where I'm going with this yet but I have Questions Also if we're talking RF4 cameos might I put up my boi Arthur? If this is still set in Norad (and given there's a knight of Norad there's an above 50% chance of that), Arthur is a prince for sure (who got some more clout after everything that happened in 4 btw) AND he handles trade and kind of does the travelling merchant thing so he really wouldn't be out of place or need a whole lot of justification for why he's there. ALSO, if it's set in Sechs (which has a less than 50% chance at this rate but I CAN STILL DREAM OKAY), they'd need an emissary between them and Norad after 4 right? Anyway vote Arthur thank you (But tbh I'd be ecstatic to see any of them because I love that cast so much 😭)

Yeah, well sos is a redo so just like RF4 graphics aren't special. It is more of a fill-in for people who didn't play on psp. I skipped sos for Animal Crossings and it has been a nice distraction once I finished RF4
I completely agree. Such an extreme vast difference, seems like SOS took a step backwards. They need to follow in Rune Factory 5 footsteps in terms of graphics at least

I'm so so so excited. I usually try to keep my expectations low but I cant help it with this game. the first Rune Factory was my first video game as a kid (or at least the first one I remember playing). I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for these games and I never expected that the series would come back. I've been playing a lot of rune factory 4 special in the past couple of days and it's been so wonderful, if this new one is even half as good I'll be satisfied. obviously I have a wishlist of things I want to be included in this game, who doesnt? one thing that I think is probably an unpopular opinion is that I wish the sleeping bag would come back. I really liked that once you destroyed a gate it was gone until you left the dungeon and came back, but switching rooms didnt cause it to appear again. it felt really good to clear out a whole dungeon and even though it was kinda frustrating sometimes I feel like running around an empty dungeon looking for that one generator you missed really added to the experience for me. sorry for the long comment lol. this trailer has really gotten me more excited and I didnt even know that was possible!
Fall looks beautiful! I can't wait to see who makes the best battle combo. I'm hoping there will be a really good dedicated healer and dedicated spellcaster. In other RPGs that was my winning combo, I'd just go nuts on the enemy while the spellcaster would hit from a distance and the healer would keep us alive. In 3 and 4 I almost never used any allies because I felt like they would attack too slowly or wouldn't attack enough. Anyways, Reinhard is still my favorite bachelor so far but Martin seems kinda cool.

Taming monsters or capturing them? Hmm... I have a lot of hope for this game story and combat wise. Also, traps in dungeons? The boulder could've been activated by a trap. Why is their a premium box!? I could get RF4's, I doubt I'll be able to get this one if we get it. I want to though. They did say we'd be getting something if we had RF4 data on our system so...maybe it is a cameo? Or maybe something Iconic making it through to RF5 with us?

That success does seem most like the one you see taming monsters in past games, and they have changed up that system in the past (first the glove, then the throwing items at it,) so that’s my guess as well. Looks cool, either way! And ooooh, that DLC is gorgeous. I love how Dolce and Pico both get their outfits included, too.

I'm super excited! I didn't get the Archival Edition of RF4 unfortunately, but I'm going to try and not let this slip through my fingers when it comes to NA. This game looks great, and I'm super excited to explore the town. I mean, the dungeons will be cool, but I have a soft spot for exploring towns as well. Also, the main characters are adorable.
Remember to like every Rune Factory update Nintendo does. So they know we want more! I'd hate to see Rune Factory discontinue. The combat looks like the JRPG of today. If I recall correctly didn't they say when they first announced rune factory 5 and 4 special at E3 years ago, that if you had save data from rune factory 4 special there would be a bonus in rune factory 5... I'm pretty sure I remember them saying there would be, they just didn't say what. Tell me I'm right...
You can tame monsters like in Rune factory Tides of Destiny, nice! I am currently getting all the Rune Factory games, the first and second are arriving soon. Tides of Destiny and the first one were great! I cannot wait until this hits in North America, I'm definitely getting that special edition.

I love the rune factory 4 outfits. But we in Europe will get the limited edition exclusively from the marvelous store most likely. And I don't like their shop and I don't want to give my stuff to too many online shops.
Combat reminds me of tales series, which is great! I hope it will be polished and gritty enough. I remember combat being kinda flat and easy button meshing in tides of destiny and earlier runes. So I'm hoping for a more dynamic combat now that the story also supports it by creating a special brigade.

I think it was taming magic. If you take a look, the wolf goes to the MC, but stop a moment. If it was still wild, it wouldn't have done that and just continuing to charge to attack.
