The way you broke down that Hand when you had AJ Versus your opponent was absolutely brilliant man. Those are the moments in poker where you know you're a great player
i came across pokervlogs from Brad Owen and i really like his vlogs. Today i got recommended your vids and i really like em too. I really like how u show all the Hands you fold too!!!! As i am willing to go to a casino myself to try some cash games just for the fun and feeling. Can you maybe explain why you fold some imo good hands like i think saw Q-J offsuite, it was maybe relevant to your position but i don't get why.
Hi Cato! As usual, you deliver very good poker blogs! And I really like that you, as usual, show the hands you muck, thank you for this! I myself live in Sweden and unfortunately the government has decided to close down our casinos while waiting for Covid-19 (Omicron) to fade out.
Great Vlogs! I hit a runner runner Royal about 15 years ago. I was at a dog track in Tampa and I had the KQ of hearts. The flop was A73 with 2 hearts. EP bets out and I just flat . the turn is the J of hearts , EP leads into me again and holding the nuts I just flat again. The river the 10 of hearts and he jams . I of course snap . The card room was also paying $5000 for any royal flush ! :)
If I'm not mistaken balut is an embrio egg that is almost former beak and all.. are we talking about same thing?? If so you are in Philippines most likely quam..
10:58 first time I heard you say “two” and not “deuce”. Started at your most recent video and have been going backwards. You have gotten me addicted to poker.
1. Everyone will know that you are “fresh meat.” Don’t try to hide it, and don’t let this bother you. Everything from how you stack your chips, to how you handle your chips and how you bet will be dead giveaways that you are new. That is ok. 2. Because of this, people will try to take your money. That is actually a good thing IF you follow # 3. 3. Play the top 5% of hands. AA-JJ, AK-AQ suited and NOTHING ELSE. This is so you can get used to the “experience” of live poker. If you get these hands, try to get the money in asap. Play aggressively and try to get all the money in preflop or on the flop. Of course once you develop, you can change your strategy. But this is my advice to my friends who have no idea how to play poker. I call it the “half piece of paper strategy.” I can write the entire strategy on half a piece of paper.
@@PokerBEAST love the name thx for replying no i have the pro’s advice😂but what if i get dealt a pocket 10 or lower like pocket jacks i know is good to play and queens but not sure about those others
Welcome back Cato! I must say, you sniffed out the gentleman’s 3 street bluff like a true crime dog. Those are always the most nerve wracking. Way to go!
Flatting with KQo in the SB isn’t quite as big of a deal in this game because you’re not nearly as likely to get 3b squeezed by the BB. But still, 3b or gold strategy with a lot of hands is very preferable there.
@@drewwojciehowski9211 Yes I have.....PokerBEAST is much more relatable and I enjoy his content. Unless your playing $20/$40 and buying in for $5000+ a lot of stuff/moves Brad makes aren't going to work at a $1/$2 game. Are you butthurt by my personal preference???
@@GotloLuna68 Haha. I was just asking a question because I like Owen too. Wanted to make sure you have seen him. You are the only one who seems upset or defensive. Don't over read into my question. Haha
You just have to do it. Read some articles/blogs and watch some videos about basic etiquette first. I don’t have anxiety issues in general but sitting down to play poker at a casino the first couple times was anxiety inducing for me. With each session you feel more and more comfortable. Expect to make mistakes, to look like the new guy, and feel embarrassed a few times. I found cheap casino tournaments to be a good way to gain table experience with a capped investment.
Because check raising with marginal hands wouldnt make sense. If I have K10, what am I trying to get to call, a worst 10?. You only make that play when u have a set and think the opponent has top pair, or as a bluff to get your opponent off better hands such as AJ
Good overall play but I would personally keep all my 3bet sizes the same. You wouldn’t/shouldn’t change your opening raise sizes based on hand strength so why do it with 3bets. Also the QQ hand, it’s fine to check/call oop most the time and I think the solvers would agree. If you bet 100% freq when an over hits and the line goes bet/call check/bet/call check/bet/fold you’ve committed more money than you would often with a check/call line where a lot of villains would check back the turn with weaker Ax hands (and some draws) and you get to realise your equity fully while committing less money.
@@arilewis4240 And changing your raise sizes based on hand strength is easily exploitable.. Having an idea of base line theory and having a sense of when to deviate from it is the best way to win low stakes cash. Also in a lot of 2/5 games these days you need some fundamentals down.. personally I’d be more inclined to check raise the QQ hand (exploiting the fact people bet too often when checked to in these games) as an exploit rather than taking a weak ass bet/check line.. and that is much worse than the baseline theoretical play because QQ has SD value.
@@totalloser23 My dad used to take me to K-State football games. Great memories! How are the KC games? Next time you’re there ask if they allow vlogging!
@@PokerBEAST super cool! 😎 My favorite room just opened back up and is operating 4 days a week. Harrah’s in KC Mo has match the stack for all tables, so the $1/3 games there typically play a little bigger, and the $2/5 is actually uncapped (playing 8 handed, there was close to $30k on the table there when I played last week… on a Sunday night 😳) Usually all of that results in pretty good action. I asked Andrew and Brad about coming out a long time before they were doing MUGS regularly. Unfortunately, I don’t think either of the rooms were receptive to vlogging back then. I also had been asked by security to have my back to a wall or other backdrop while going over hand histories; haven’t ever put together or edited any of those videos. Now at this point, I’d say it’s inevitable for most rooms to eventually make way for vlog material to be shot on property. Will ask next time I’m there, and: If you’re ever in the area, I’d be happy to meet up and try to get a few tables together to play at either place :) Cheers!
How do these vloggers hit so many big hands in one session. I play 20 hours a week and I don't make as many hands in a month as they do in one session. Love the videos though. Keep it up bro
The 1010 hand early where you 3bet..... you used the term "milking him" yet you bet 125 into 167 on flop that clearly slams your range and unless its full cooler situation you are not getting value..... think you might want to evaluate this type of scenario. Not sure if thats your standard sizing or not but imo a downbet would of been better as you are not always going to be top of the range either. Let the turn be the heavy bet if needed.
