There's an illusion like he got faster switching from the first shot to the second and that's because of the background in the second shot; rapidly moving green trees. When in motion in a car or you walking or running beside trees, they appear to be moving too as you cover distance, looking at them appears to make you also feel like you're moving faster than you actually are. I think it's an eye trick thing, that's why the second shot appears faster because of the background.
