Great job to the captain and to the ones who instructed him on how to handle the situation. I really don't think the captain makes decisions like this on his own. All aboard will remember this and talk about it for a long time. We're thankful this crew did such an amazing job under these circumstances.
Had a lump in my throat for a while there. Been in 12 ft waves on a cruise ship and it was a little unnerving at times. Y'all put on a brave face. Thank you for all the updates and taking us along with you. The little towel animals are just adorable. So glad you're back home safe and praying for all those that were in the paths of these horrific storms. God bless you all❤❤❤❤❤
Wow! This was very informative, your combined experience with boating really helped explain what was happening on the bridge. Great video you two, mostly I'm just glad you and your family are safe! Have a wonderful week out there Salty Reflections Family!
Thank you. We ended up having a great time. The crew did a great job keeping us safe and entertained. We'll be going back as soon as we get a chance. Stay safe and take care.
Was on this cruise with yall, had my wife and 3 young daughters. I was glued to my phone and the room tv to see what we were doing lol. My poor wife did not fair well Wednesday night but she made it through.
Man, I hate to hear your wife wasn't dealing with the situation well. And I hope your kids weren't scared. We're on boats a lot more than most people. The situation was a little alarming to us but really didn't bother us. We had a great time and think the crew did an awesome job of taking care of everyone to the best of their ability under the circumstances. I think the ones who give the captain permission to carry us so far south made the right decision and I'm thankful. Things could have turned out a lot worse than what they did. This was a cruise that all aboard will remember and talk about for a long time to come.
@@SaltyReflections Oh yeah most definitely. My girls did pretty good, I was in the navy on a carrier so I’ve seen much worse seas in the North Atlantic/North Sea but felt bad because there was nothing I could say to my wife to make her feel better. Just anxiety etc, but she made it through and we had a great time. This was our 5th cruise and the Elation staff/crew did an above and beyond job. Really enjoyed the video and helped me get through some of my post cruise blues haha, everytime I get off the ships I struggle with going back to “reality” for a week or so. Subscribed so looking forward to future videos!
Sorry yall had to go through that for yall vacation. But loved the video and glad y'all are safe. Please keep the videos coming love keeping up with yall. Yall could have shown them down there how to catch some nice crabs.😊
Hi from a Canadian fan 🙋🏼♀️, I’ve been following your videos for some time now and was worried about how you managed with both hurricanes, 🌀 I’m glad you guys are safe, what an unnerving experience you had on the cruise ship. I can honestly say I can relate to being blown around by a hurricane 🌀. I was caught in Hurricane Irma in 2017 at a resort in Cuba close to where your ship was, just east of Matanzas on the tv map. I wanted to cancel but the travel agency assured us that 🌀 Irma would not come close to Cuba so I went (flew from Vancouver Canada direct to Veradero, Cuba). I knew the trip was doomed when in flight we had a near miss with another plane that flew right over us causing our pilot to take evasive action to avoid a collision. We were over either Alabama or Florida and for the rest of the flight everyone was very quiet. Once we got into the airport people were scrambling to get flights off the island and the same was going on once we arrived at the resort and the Cuban news was saying it was going to hit where we were as a category 5 storm 🤦🏼♀️. My two week vacation turned into a full on 8 day natural disaster that provided me with some hair raising memories (😂 the resort was called Memories Jibacoa 😂) my favourite one being that I got to spend 4 nights hunkering down in the dark with a lizard 🦎 in the bathroom of the fully operational Old Havana Cuban brothel hotel we were evacuated to 🤦🏼♀️. If ever I have an opportunity to take a vacation again it will definitely not be in hurricane season or to a certain destination because it’s a lot cheaper…life lesson learned the really hard way🤷🏼♀️. Again, I’m glad you’re safe and I’m looking forward to seeing your next video adventure. 🙋🏼♀️🌸🌺🌸
Wow! 😵💫 That was a heck of a trip! The near miss airplane ride was enough without dealing with the hurricane, too! We remember Hurricane Irma ... 😬 ... we got about 3.5 ft of storm surge flooding in our neighborhood. 🤦🏼♀️😥 Thankfully, we had evacuated, so we weren't dealing with the terror in person like you probably were going through it. I'm thankful we all made it through it to remember & talk about it later, though! 🙌 Praise the Lord for keeping us all safe! 🙏
@@SaltyReflections That’s a lot of water, I had not heard about storm surge before that trip, now that’s the first thing I look for when I read about hurricanes. It was terrifying but I am still here to tell my grandson about it (when he’s older ☺️) and that’s what counts for me, thank God 🙏🏼. 🙋🏼♀️🐚🦀🌸🌺🌸
my hubby and i took our one and ONLY cruise, years ago, during oct and it was so bad that we slid all over the place. they said it was the worst storm they ever went through.. to this day, im not sure about another cruise. but we have heard its very risky on the fall. thus, is cheaper then.
I hate to hear you guys had such a bad experience. We do way more boating than the average people, so the rough seas didn't bother us too bad. We'll be going back when we get a chance to go.
Our secretary asked when was a good time to go on a cruise. I said don't go in September. She went in September. There were 4 hurricanes out there. The only time they saw land was when the got on the boat and when they got off the boat.
