It's interesting how you asked if one can jump rope. I started my total fitness journey in my early 30s with jump rope. When I pivoted to running a few years later, it felt like I already had a head start over many others getting started running. I was already very springy on my feet with powerful barefoot midfoot thrust. Nowadays, I always recommend jump rope as a way to build up the proper physio mechanics for efficient and pleasurable running.
That's a great insight! I have everyone I coach start with baby plyometrics and jump roping to build that fascial integrity in the system! Love to hear your experience. When you do it right, running is fun!
