Train with me for my first 5k! I'm not a runner, but doing a 5k has always been on my bucket list, so I knew it was time to push myself out of my comfort zone. I spent 2 weeks following the Nike Running Club app to prepare & documented the whole experience. This is how it went :)

My little niece signed up for a marathon and her running partner canceled so she asked me and I’m not going to let my little niece run solo! So I told her to sign me up, I’ve never done a marathon in fact, I’m obese! But I’ve lost a lot of weight with a year of working out and the marathon is about 3 months out so I’ve been running on the treadmill as soon as she asked me to, it’s only been 3 days and I’m hitting a mile in about 20 mins. My goal is to lose some more weight and improve my running time. Wish me luck!! Thanks for posting this video, it helps motivating me. 💪🏻

Ran my first 5k today I tried running it before but always got to about 2k then couldnt do it due to muscle fatigue or boredom (mental on both occasions). But today I somehow powered through, a mix of a really good song and getting past the first 2.5k where I felt like I was swallowing boiling blood made the second half for more attainable. Feels unbelievable though as my fitness has always been horrendous even though im thin

Well done on the 5K. I only took up running in my 40's but so glad I did as I love it. Good luck with your future running goals.

I started running about a few months ago, it’s been a slow process with a knee and ankle injury earlier in the year and I am going to try my first 5k tmrw!!!!

I followed the “Get Started” program on the Nike Run Club app. They also have a 5K training plan that’s 8 weeks long though!
