I have the EB3A, unfortunately the unit cannot be used as a UPS The inverter shuts off after a period of low power draw. It’s not supposed to shut down unless it’s in ECO mode. I contacted Bluetti, so far they haven’t posted a firmware update to fix it. I’m rather disappointed due to the fact that I bought it as a UPS to run my security cameras and router. I’m not the only one with this issue, all of them have it. It’s still a great little unit aside from that issue.

Ok I’m super excited by this!! I saw it for off-grid life, and it just dawned on me maybe it could power the fan controller for my gas furnace during a power outage.

Your furnace only draws 300 watts of power? Wow that’s very efficient. I would have guessed it would draw much more. *EDIT* oh whoops I just realized this is a gas furnace. Not an electric furnace.

Yes, that's correct! I did state that a few times in the video, so people wouldn't get confused. I think a typical eletric furniture would pull around 20,000 watts. This battery wouldn't be able to handle that for sure haha

furnaces are 120v. theres only 2 motors in a furnace. the Inducer Motor to provide combustion ventilation and the actual blower motor its self to circulate air through the ductwork. blow motors typically pull 2-5amps at 120v thats anywhere from 200-600watts total. so that station will do just fine for about 30 min - 1 hour. that station has a very nice inverter but only has 268WH capacity. get you a power queen 12.8v 100ah battery and use it to charge the station for longer run times. Get even more crazy get a MPPT controler and a couple 300w solar panels charge the battery as the battery charges the station and now you have a off grid furnace :)

I would have considered the EB3A if it has a port to attach an extra battery.

Yea I am going to use lead acid battery bank and solar and inverter i have in my RV to charge this running a window ac unit or just a 12v fridge freezer I have. Because it has the by pass feature it will take the power from lead acid inverter setup so I will get extra life out of both this and my lead acids

you can attach an eb3a to another eb3a

How did you get around the furnace ground requirement? Mine won't run because the powerstation has a floating ground.

That is an important question!

I'm totally interested as well. I'm using an EB70 and I got the same issue with the furnace not starting on the lack of grounding.

@emilianconstantinescu4946 Won't work, at least with a newer furnace. I abandoned the idea.

I don't understand why people complain so much about the fan noise of this thing. My PC FAN is more loud and annoying than this fan. It's not as loud as people say and its NOT an annoying frequency sound as well. It's more like a hum that actually sound like a sleep sound generator or white noise generator. Also that sound at the beginning when the fan starts to spin WILL GO AWAY once the fan is broken in . I have owned this thing for 2 months and the initial spin up grinding sound of the fan has completely diminished. Just needs time to break in the fan motor.

Wow I didnt think to try to use this little thing to run my gas furnace. Wonder how long it would go? I am trying to find the best small portable space heater for camping. The tech specs say 1200 Watt surge (powerlift). Any recommendations?

I have a Bluetti EB 150, which has more WH and a bigger inverter, but it won't power my gas furnace. I goes to the first stage, then shuts down prior to stage 2 and 3. Any reason why it's doing that?

@@camillionmonkey I;m going to buy a kilawat meter to see what the draw is on each of the 3 stages.

75 mins of run time of the furnace is not much actually. I was looking for something to keep running for about 2 days or so.

nobody tests how would it work with power lifting mode with angle grinder, its motor should handle voltage swings what may come from power lifting mode.

you have the right idea but just a inverter and big battery and a charger is the way to go.

That EB3A would have been a pretty good power station if it did not have overheating issues.
