Been waiting for this one! Gotta say I am a bit surprised how low you have the first 2 albums haha, but hey thats why these are fun to watch. I may do a ranking for them in the near future as well, this has got me in the mood to go listen to all the albums again. I listen to the first 10 albums pretty regularly, but honestly don't go back to the later stuff too often at all. Anyways, cheers Questy!
Soooo cool you did a Running Wild ranking video. LOVE Running Wild since my childhood. And FINALLY someone who appreciates the PILE OF SKULLS Masterpiece, just amazing!! Also my favourite album and Treasure Island is by far their absolute masterpiece. And the concert in Zurich at their Pile of Skulls Tour was my first metal concert, they blew me away back then. Agree to your ranking, only their debut album is for me something special and one of the best 80ies metal albums of all time (while Branded and Exiled was a disappointment). My favourite Running Wild albums: 1. Pile Of Skulls 2. Gates To Purgatory 3. Blazon Stone 4. Under Jolly Roger 5. Black Hand Inn 6. Port Royal 7. Death Or Glory 8. Masquerade 9. The Rivalry 10. Branded and Exiled Cheers from Switzerland and wish you a great year 2024
Running Wild is one of my favorite power metal bands right next to Blind Guardian and Helloween. Rolf Kasparek is great at creating riffs that are catchy and melodic yet pack a lot of punch. All albums I think are great but the top 7 here I think are masterpiece albums and are my absolute favorites: 17. Blood on Blood 16. The Brotherhood 15. Rogues en Vogue 14. Victory 13. The Rivalry 12. Resilient 11. Shadowmaker 10. Rapid Foray 9. Gates to Purgatory 8. Branded and Exiled 7. Under Jolly Roger 6. Black Hand Inn 5. Masquerade 4. Blazon Stone 3. Pile of Skulls 2. Death or Glory 1. Port Royal
@@747jono Virgin Steele is my favorite band! Their run of albums in the 90s is some of the best material in the genre. Plus David Defeis bring out my inner Romantic Barbarian!
Amazing band, some of the best Heavy/Power Metal ever. Besides the last 2 everything else I like to fucking love 17 Resilient 16 Shadowmaker 15 Rogues en Vogue 14 Blood on Blood 13 Victory 12 Rapid Foray 11 The Brotherhood 10 The Rivalry 9 Branded and Exiled 8 Masquerade 7 Under Jolly Roger 6 Blazon Stone 5 Gates of Purgatory 4 Black Hand Inn 3 Pile of Skulls 2 Death or Glory 1 Port Royal
You’re more predictable than the British weather 😉 haha both great albums though but not as fun or sing a long power metal as some others (plus I love pirates)
1. Death or Glory 2. Gates to Purgatory (love the rawness of this one) 3. Port Royal 4. Under Jolly Roger 5. Branded and Exiled Still need to hear the rest haha. Really love those first four, Branded and Exiled wasn't particularly memorable for me.
Running Wild is right up there with Blind Guardian and Iced Earth as my favorite Power Metal bands (and just bands in general). My top 5 albums: 1. Black Hand Inn 2. Pile of Skulls 3. Masquerade 4. The Rivalry 5. Blazon Stone
Under Jolly Roger through The Rivalry is one of the best runs of albums ever. You can't go wrong with anything there but Black Hand Inn is probably my favorite.
I'm just gonna tell you my top 5. 1. Masquerade. (Number one because of it's composition, lyrics and production quality. Best songs are masquerade, demonized and soleil royal) 2. Blazon stone (Extremely close second. Best songs are fire & ice and blazon stone) 3. Pile of skulls 4. Death or glory 5. Black hand in
My ranking: 17 Shadowmaker 16 Resilient 15 Rogues en Vogue 14 Victory 13 Branded and Exiled 12 Masquerade 11 The Brotherhood 10 Rapid Foray 9 Blood on Blood 8 Gates of Purgatory 7 The Rivalry 6 Under Jolly Roger 5 Blazon Stone 4 Port Royal 3 Black Hand Inn 2 Death or Glory 1 Pile of Skulls Cheers!
Grave digger, running wild, rage and typers of pan tang are the same generation and were around as long as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, manowar, and Motörhead and yet they don’t have enough popularity is there anyone that knows of these bands and if they can become more trending and have more news of them
Shadowmaker rulez! There are a lot albums worse than this one, including Victory and Brotherhood. Tbh i think Black Hand Inn is way overrated. Blazon Stone was my first RW album. Pile of skulls and rivalry are my all time favorites! Just an idea: when doing ratings it would be cool if you could say the place in the ranking before each record. It's hard for the viewer to always memorize how far you are in the ranking when the band has a discography of 10+ a 14:55 lbums.
Most of Grand Belial's Key and Arghoslent riffs are Rolf Kasparek inspired. That's how great Running Wild's music is. These guys are to Pirate Metal what Bathory is to Viking Metal. Not that big of a subgenre considering that most can only count them and Alestorm as proper pirate bands but hey, it has to count on something.
