Bruce has gone home, somewhere his heart will once again be young. Memories of him will never grown old. These are such powerful lyrics, sung by a man with a powerful, enchanting voice. RIP, you are missed. Sending love to his wife; and his daughter and son, those two apples didn't fall far from the tree.
I have been playing this song all day. It’s hard to believe we have lost this greatly talented singer/songwriter. Thank you for the great music, Bruce!
This man, what a talent. Being a Canadian I was always a fan of Bruce Guthro. What a voice, so clear, so perfect. Thank you Scotland for accepting this beautiful soul into your hearts. We miss you Bruce. Rip ♥❤
So so sad to hear of the passing of Bruce Guthro. I only discovered him a couple of years ago with Runrig. I was blown away with his voice and bought his DVD and his records. He seemed such a lovely guy too. The Runrig guys all loved him as well as the fans. R.I.P. xx
R.I.P. Amen Bruce. Thanks for being here & giving us all the honour of a wonderful person. This is certainly by far the best version of this song. God Bless & look after you. ❤❤❤
Thank you Bruce for the years of joy and beautiful memories. Rest in peace and know you take a piece of all your fans with you and know you were loved by us.
💔No singer or band ever touched my heart like Bruce Guthro and Runrig did. The world has lost a wonderful voice and a wonderful man much too early. RIP 😭
The Scots have an ability to make music that stirrs your soul more than any other nationality has the right to. I'm English with Scots Irish English roots and what Celtic blood I have this band have always since I first heard them resonated with me.
Runrig kept me going through some of my darkest times and brings back so many good memory’s of my child hood and growing up . Thank you guys Rest in peace Bruce
Absolutely gutted only just realised Bruce passed away. I've not kept upto date with runrig since my dad died, couldn't bring myself to listen, came on tonight and heard the news. Absolutely devasted, what a superb voice, tone and delivery. You sir have a very special place. God bless you for the memories. May you enjoy a pint with my dad upstairs. R.I.P Bruce. Wonderful, wonderful voice. Thank you xxx
Bruce leaving us has hit me ❤ I can't stop watching this performance... I love bruce and runrig and love all yheir music..this song just always got to me 🎉
I just now learned of Bruce’s crossing over. He will forever be remembered for his voice…and although I didn’t know him personally he seemed like a truly person. Rest easy, Bruce..but always raise a bit of Truth when needed. 💚
have you ever wondered what a photoflood day was. i didn't know until my friend just told me. intense sustained illumination, so a Scottish summer when it stays light nearly all day long.
Have you heard the version on the "Live at the Celtic Connections 2000" album? Just Bruce, Malcolm and the audience. It'll have you weeping into your Irn Bru!! Beautiful. He really made it his own that night.
this was a brilliant rendition. For my best friend and her husband. Both died far too soon. 45 and 37 is far to young. Ill always remember seeing these guys at Ipswich
Today the news was brought to the world. That next summer, 2018, the journey with Runrig as the band we know it, will be no more. Thanks for the memories!
Love this song it's always a way to say I'm so so proud to be Scottish this is just a pure classic song and nothing will ever amount to this and I absolutely adore runrig one of my fav bands 💕💕💕
Very proud to be scottish too. not long home from canada where I was in Elgin county, hamilton, etc. the cutter.. "when u arrived in canada, walked the streets... it's winter in ontario.. just did winter in ontario like Johhny Morrison from uist
Absolutely the best band ever, every concert has the audience dancing and being part of the fantastic story that is RUNRIG. I would have loved to see them playing Highland Cathedral. That would have been a real tear jerker!
@@steelernation1989 I love the Summer sunsets and sunrises down here in Glasgow, I’am a nightshift taxi driver so I see it all that’s why I love our wee country the best place with the best people on the planet is You ask me xx 🏴
I lost the love of my life a year ago, Hazel I know there's a place under the sun where hearts of our olden glories will grow again. I love you Hazel my princess xx
Our condolences I'm just cleaning up my sister's account. Her war injury finally took her. But it's what she wanted she never really was the same after her husband was killed in the same war. She was a fluent gael speaker. The greatest tribute was paid to get . Her eulogy was short To serve with her was the greatest honour of my life. 34 times. Gone too soon
Absolutely stunning version of the classic song. Sends shivers down my spine. One of my top 5 Runrig songs. The boys may be retired but the music will live on.
Runrig live Hannover- Parkbühne..mit Paul Carrack und Wonderwall im Vorprogramm...eines der besten Konzerte , das ich erleben durfte. Besonders der Drummer von Runrig...ein Genie an seinem Instrument
I Love it There's thunder clouds Round the hometown bay As I walk out In the rain Through the sepia showers And the photoflood days I caught a fleeting glimpse Of life And though the water's Black as night The colours of Scotland Leave you young inside There must be a place Under the sun Where hearts of olden glory Grow young There's a vision Coming soon Through the faith That cleans your wound Hearts of olden glory Will be renewed Down the glens Where the headlands stand I feel a healing Through this land A cross for a people Like wind through your hands There must be a place Under the sun Where hearts of olden glory Grow young

It's news years eve. 2020 has been a tough year for humankind. This song reaches deep inside me just as it does for so many others. Best wishes and hopes for all mankind in 2021. Runrig touches something no one else can.
My childhood friend was brilliant singing this song. Not too shabby for a fella from our small coal mining town of Sydney Mines , Nova Scotia [New Scotland in our native tongue of gaelic ]. Well done Bruce bye , Runrig rules, what an awesome band . God bless Scotland and its people . Ciad Mile Failte .
R.i.p Bruce sadly missed this song 🎵 unbelievable, runrig lucky to had 2 beautiful lead singers like Bruce and the fantastic donnie.Got it in my will to play this song 🎵 at my cremation in Thailand 🇹🇭 or Scotland 2 beautiful countries. R.i.p Bruce
Runrig, blessed with two exceptional singers! What a vocal from Bruce on this one. I really think Bruce prolonged Runrig's career. They would've been finished if they hadn't found a singer of this calibre.......
@@unclebeerman1899 As well he should be. A phenomenal singer and, if you're lucky enough to have seen them live, and absolutely electric live frontman.
My dad got me listening to runrig he was a massive fan of them, there music is fantastic and at times very touching like this song it does remind me of my father as he is in heaven now I like to listen to it and smile
darren gray This song was requested to be played at both my mother and fathers funerals, and it was. They discovered it listening to me playing it in my bedroom in my early twenties. Probably the only time our music interests properly collided, when my mum knocked on the bedroom door and asked what *is* that song was brilliant.
Remember when my dad introduced me to Runrig i was like 12 years old - comming from Denmark and being 12 years old and dont understand a word english, but totally liked the music anyway😂😮 2 years went, and i got to go to the first koncert when they visited Denmark. Never missed a single koncert, when they visited my city since then. Was so lucky to go to the farewell koncert in Scotland in 2018 - best day of my life and greatest experience ever! Love Runrig ❤❤
@@preciouspeter4012 its not him its a band called runrig and hes actually their second main singer he was brought in when donnie munro left the role, they are different but equally good
Singing/blubbering along.. when ppl sing a righteous song in chorus it is divine!! Amazing singing voice beautiful wobble. 🏴❤🏴❤🏴❤🏴❤🏴
Patrick Setzer okay this cant just be me what’s with germans and Scottish music. Don’t get me wrong, please listen to it you’re more than welcome to it. It s always great to spread a bit of our music and culture. But Scottish stuff seems to really connect with germans. Just me?
for anyone to take over as lead singer in place of donnie would be some challenge but Bruce more than smashed it,other bands fans would be split as bruce fans or donnie fans but not runrig, they love and respect them both in equal measure as well as the rest of the band, anyone who was ever part of Runrig has my deepest respect and this song is just a brilliant example of their magic and up there with the best all time scottish bands or singers
This song reminds of the last time I was happy in life. Seems a different life these days. I miss my girl so much but that's life. Don't be sad that it's over, be happy that the memories happened
just been reintroduced to this band after watching their last concery on TV tonight, but i had liked them many years ago, this is a superb song, after the last two years we have been through this song should be an anthum for us all
I haven't heard much of the later Runrig years after Donnie Munro left...but it's sad to hear of Bruce Guthro's passing and I think he proved himself as a worthy successor. Good vocals here...great track...
