This is one of the most beautiful songs ever made by Rush. And to share it with 2 wonderful people is so fantastic. It makes everyone smile besides the band ❤
How wonderful and touching that Rush did this with a couple of friends who knew how important this song and band is to Canada and Rush fans everywhere. They did bring this closer to theirs and our hearts; and if that isn’t what music can do, I don’t know anything. Love to them all and gold rings on all of them for treating Neil with such tenderness and total band and crew support. There is no tighter group than Rush, and when they are in the pipe going full tilt, it’s a thing to behold.
I worked with Canadians and liked them much. Canadians are cool and smart (generally speaking :). No kidding, I mean it. I loved Rush in the 70's and rediscover them now that I am retired thanks to the internet magic. I always considered them as very gifted musicians. This song is awesome. Well done Rush and Canada :)
Most Rush fanz will luv TPboyz, I used to hate this song (not really, but I needed all hard n heavy Rush), but now I love the vibe and meaning and soul and hope and.....
Perhaps the kindest band in the history of music. If you know these guys they were being sweet because of the love in their hearts. Going and playing with Rush isn't a big deal except for two things. I love that they could take an hour out of a work day and just give it to a friend of my friend. I bring my C game because how cool is that? Uncle Geddy uncle Alex and the Professor, brudding with mysteriousness byhine the hallowed kit. Ed and Mike. What ever happens in their lives they can know they are loved. Here is the recorded proof. And that my friends brings us Closer To The Heart.
Love this version! Neil is killing it here, not that he doesn't usually. Bubs growl makes it even better which is saying something, this is Rush after all. Beauty!
This is by far the most beautifully REAL song ever performed, it is incredibly wonderful to see those two talented young men letting Rush do this with them : )
The world lost a truly great artist today, one of ,if not the best drummers on the planet , R.I.P. Neil Peart, the man could play. You will be sorely missed.
Nice to see these guys actually playing this tune again. I'm sure they were sick of it but excluding it from their live shows wasn't right, IMO. When it's one of your bands biggest hits and is the song that really made you then you should play it for the people that pay their hard earned cash to see Rush. Much love for the band though, they seem like genuinely good people.
And the men who hold high places Must be the ones who start To mold a new reality Closer to the heart Closer to the heart The blacksmith and the artist Reflect it in their art They forge their creativity Closer to the heart Yes closer to the heart Philosophers and ploughmen Each must know his part To sow a new mentality Closer to the heart Yes closer to the heart, yeah You can be the captain And I will draw the chart Sailing into destiny Closer to the heart Closer to the heart Well closer to the heart, yeah Closer to the heart Closer to the heart I said closer to the heart Well closer to the heart yeah Closer to your heart Closer to your heart
Part of why music is so good for us all, and why rush is what they are. Truly rock and roll. Love the smiles. Too me back to high school when everything on the radio rocked like this.
es tan perfecto el sonido y la armonia que no puedo expresar lo que siento al oir esta version. y los dos musicos de apoyo exelentes , admirables , .,,,,,,
I don't know who these guys are playing with Rush, but this is the best version of Closer to the heart I've heard. It's got the added grit the song lacked.
The guy with big glasses is Bubbles from the tv show called Trailer Park Boys, as I've read your comment I reckon you don't know it. As I was reading back recently, Rush was close with this show, thus one of the character from this show. There is literally an episode called "Closer to the heart", season 3, episode 5, definietely recommend to watch it to get the grasp of what's going on
@@bogulans2897 yessirrrr they're who put me onto this song. love it. i like the orginal only because you can hear the lyrics better. if it was mastered with the original lyrics it would be MINT
Yeah. Julian and Ricky sent Corey and Trevor to the studio with dope to sell and they lost it. So fun fact, Julian and Ricky are waiting in a different room in said studio to sell dope.
Love Rush!! what a tremendous version!, one of the best bands in rock history ever!!, so talented every of three members!, out of this world!...Sorry about my ignorance! but could somebody ilustrate me about the other two guys?, who they are? and whats the origin of that gig?, or like from where or whom did the idea of that video came to make it?...will apreciate so much your info about it...they got together as if they played all the time, or like original members of Rush! Awesome!!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻💪🏻💪🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻
The One with the glasses is Mike Smith who plays Bubbles on the Showcase television show The Trailer Park Boys, the other is Ed Robertson who is lead guitarist and singer for the Canadian band Barenaked Ladies. The origin of this performance is to have Canadian legends join their heros Rush who are also Canadian legends, Bubbles is a fan of Rush on the Trailer Park Boys.
