Grew up in Canada … so I’ve had Rush in my life since the mid 70’s and I’ve seen them 17 times … that’s 17 concert shirts (I collect ticket stubs and t’s). Wife surprised me after Neil passed by having them all framed: t shirt with ticket stub x 17. Made me cry. Coolest media room ever now.

I'm 66. Yes, you read that right. I remember getting "All the World's a Stage" on 8-track, when it came out. When I heard the guitar echo on "Anthem", I was hooked. For me Alex with the different sounds and chords he came up with was the reason I became a Rush fan. The different spacey chords of Jacob's Ladder is another perfect example. Alex never got enough credit for the success of this band, IMO.

Driving home from college years ago, there was a line of awesome thunderheads across the sky ahead. Lightning in the clouds made them glow one at a time, and I realized why they are called thunderheads: they looked like a line of huge purple, carved busts. I realized I had Permanent Waves in the car, and blasted Jacob's Ladder while I drove through the storm. It is still one of my favourite songs.
