Moving Pictures was my introduction to all things Rush. I spent there several years before even venturing into listening to other albums. All songs fit perfectly, all are indeed perfect. The compositions, the performance, the sounds!
This song, a lost gem within a great album. Geddy's tone on this one is fuzzed-out, with his characteristic lines and a bass solo.
I'm using a Line6 Helix. In my chain I put Compressor - Fuzz (Thrifter) - Ampeg BRT Rig.
Added Chorus for the bass solo and outro.
Tuning: Standard
Bass: Rickenbacker 4001

I know Cliff is a legend and has influenced many Bass players, but the sounds he made with a Bass I didnt really like either (some of the riffs themselves are fucking awesome tho) Cheers 😎🎸🎣🎵🎶

As per usual another excellent cover kello of one of my favourite bands 😁, also I'm sure in some documentary about the Beatles Paul McCartney used a Rick 4001 in the studio to record alot of the Beatles songs but played the Violin looking Rick on stage 😈🦅👹♠️👹🦅😈

If you are tackling Rush I recommend "Cold Fire" I LOVE that bassline, the whole thing is more or less one giant improv. Or "Ghost of a Chance."

Just out of curiosity, do you ever use the stereo output on your Ric? I see you have it on the bridge pickup, that's also what I always thought Geddy Lee and Chris Squire were doing until I got a 4001 and realized that wasn't really the case
