I was blown away earlier in the week by Mike Thomson's Superb rendition of Russ Conway's Party Pops No 2 Part 2 from 1958.
I've been rebuilding this HMV Model 2008 from 1965 this week.
I originally got it for spares as it had a few parts missing...But I decided it was far too good to break up and I am now rebuilding it...(So much for adding it to my spares department...haha!!!)
It's no where near complete yet...But the valve amp is back together along with the BSR UA15ss turntable...I thought it fitting to play my 1958 copy of Party Pops 2 Part 2 in response to Mikes video.

@pyestudiocolour Thanks Neil! Yes...I got this HMV for spares...haha!!! It had no turntable mat, cartridge, idler pulley, valve or over arm...Which had been wrenched off! When I realised it had a valve amp and used an ECL86 along with having Bass and Treble controls it tugged at my old heart strings...haha!!! It was a very high quality player for it's day! Mike Thomson is a talented genius! Nobody I've ever personally heard comes close to Russ except for Mike! Thanks for commenting! :)

@MarcusTomatos Thanks Mark! I completely agree and share your thoughts! Mike Thomson is Amazing! Thanks for your kind words on the HMV which did originally come to me for spares. It had a lot of parts missing, but once I saw it was a valve machine with a high quality amp and speaker, I decided to give it a second chance...It sounds much nicer in real life! I'll wrap it up now and leave it under your Christmas tree...haha!!! Thanks for commenting! :)

Good to hear the original medley from Russ with the old pink Columbia centre. Having said that, Mike's version is every bit as good. And when you consider he has no brushes, bass or guitar to help fill in the gaps, that is no mean feat. Nice sounding machine by the way. Cheers MT
