I'm glad Julie ended up with Russ; she deserves to be happy.

Ross's list was more visceral. She can't change 'chubby ankles' and "Just" a waitress when she came from high society and is literally just starting over from scratch while he's a doctor. She can't burn him the same way. Rachel's list was more superficial and about things Ross has control over. His hair gel and simply not taking actions. Ross had a burn list, Rachel had a better-yourself-list.

Phoebe's grandmother is played by Audra Lindley who also played Mrs. Roper on a VERY FAMOUS sitcom called THREE'S COMPANY that ran for 8 seasons since 1977, the show's even been mentioned by Chandler. 20:10 The woman who plays Joey's agent Estelle is June Gable, she also played the nurse when Ross's son was being born.

The “Russ” episode is one of my favs in the entire series (I think) and coincidentally also one of my fav episodes of Frasier is the Niles doppleganger. I would love to see you react to Frasier - it’s a brilliant quick witted series and for a change an American series where not everyone is beautiful to look at. Of course am enjoying your Friends journey…you have 200 episodes left. That means you may finish the entire series in August 2025 😳😳😳 P.S. I am a fan of Friends however it’s odd when fandoms become offended by the slightest criticisms or opinions. This has happened on a comment I made on an earlier episode of Friends.

The actress that plays Pheebs grandmother was Ms. Roper on Three's Company. She passed a couple of years after that performance. Funny lady.

I'd say Rachel's list plays differently, aside from what you said about the comedic aspect, because the circumstances were different. Ross incites Rachel to do it, and she takes her chance for revenge. Even though what she says is true, she's clearly doing it out of spite. On the other hand, Ross's list was not asked for, and Rachel was hit between the eyes with it at a point where she had finally got the man she wanted.

If they made a special episode for just Russ and Julie, I WOULD WATCH THE HECK OUT OF THAT

So far as I've heard, this thing about having to tip everybody who provides any service to you whatsoever is only a New York City thing. Nobody else I've ever heard of or met does that other than people in that city. Everyone else will tip bar staff, wait staff, hairdressers...at the moment of service...but not mailmen, apartment maintenance guys, etc. on Christmas.

I just have to say - i absolutely love watching the series with you. I've seen all seasons over and over again, so I love to see new reactions :)

I agree with the other comments , the series is too long for only two episodes a week , I hope you consider watching more if you have time , I believe it will be more beneficial as well so people can keep watching and it will be faster to get more shows in the channel

Despite being played by David Schwimmer, Russ was credited as being portrayed by "Snaro" which was David's alias and a tribute to one of the producer's friend. The main difference between Ross' and Rachel's list is the fact that he did it behind her back but she just did it because he asked her to to make her feel better. The Fun Bobby storyline is actually pretty true and sad. It reminds me of my dad. He's always been both pretty grumpy and VERY emotionally distant towards me and the family, but when he's been drinking he actually opens up and listens. I know he means what he says but I need to hear him say it sober. Alcoholism runs in my family so I've decided to pretty much avoid alcohol (besides the occasional cocktail) because I've seen how it destroys people and families. I also just don't like the taste of most of it. I actually don't think many people do, because the main thing they are after are the effects. I think it's crazy that we live in this culture where alcohol is just normalised and people even think you're weird if you don't drink, like you must be an alcoholic. Gunther (Rachel's boss at Central Perk) has his first line in episode 9 but he was supposed to be a silent guest cast member. However, since James Michael Tyler was the only actor who knew how to work a cappuccino machine, he became a series regular. He was actually a barista in real life and when he started to appear in more episodes of Friends, he quit to work full time on the show. Also, June Gable, who plays Joey's agent Estelle, appeared before as a nurse assisting Carol giving birth to Ben and the other woman Joey was helping.

Episode 10 is one that I can imagine people looking back on with a raised eyebrow. The whole “me too” movement and all. Just goes to show how common it was to the point where it is written into one of the biggest shows as a joke storyline of the episode. I think the only way they were able to get away with it like that was by justifying it with Joey.

the love story isn't the central thing, so for them to get together right away would just remove the suspense and excitement. the anticipation is what makes it good. plus there has to be that time and history to be built in order for the get-together to be satisfying

Personally the fun bobby storyline was so wierd, it’s basically saying “your fun if your and alcholic and boring if not” and the fact he wasnt even addicted, as he stopped like that. And its even worse that one of the cast members was a genuine alcoholic, and really suffered makes it sm worse

I understand you are invested in the Ross/Rachel thing, but understand this is about 6 friends. 6 of them, not 2. Be invested in ALL of them and their relations. Also know this is to be light entertainment.

not sure what rachels motivation would have been to do it on purpose. it would validate ross if he realised the guy was exactly like him so a good thing for him. rachel would not have wanted to do that on purpose as she's mad at him.

Oh Phoebs, the father in prison, stepfather leaving them when she was a kid and all is just the beginning of learning to know her past I wish Russ would've stayed in the show for a while longer, he was just a new fresh wind that we've never seen before 😂

What constitutes a problem or impediment is subjective to each individual. It takes a certain sense of arrogance to dismiss somebody’s problems as insignificant simply because it doesn’t fit into one’s own logic. It also takes a discriminatory sense of identification with a fictional character to continually blind oneself to jokes by others because they’re conflating the consequences to that character with their own lives. How is this show an escape, as you claim, when you can’t go 10 seconds without bringing your own prejudices (albeit innocent) into the storyline?

Unpopular opinion: One of the rare times where I found a stupid and unfunny episode that served no purpose and that didn't add anything concrete to the story was the episode with Russ Just ankward. I never understood this episode

The Russ storyline is one of the worst, I think. It’s very fitting for a show trying to figure out what it’s supposed to be. Luckily, they didn’t pursue this story.

In hindsight ross was being put to chose between two women he had to weigh the options , he wasn’t doing anything wrong he was finally with an girl he liked and was moving on from Rachel. He has the right to determine if his feelings were something genuine and another relationship worth stepping into I mean yes they are OTP and their love is pure and Grat but what he did wasn’t bad
