It's funny how ppl keep saying that sutton saved russ when they have great trust and rapport. Russ has been putting those passes ONLY where Sutton can catch it and sutton is completing plays.

Wilson Pros. A few great passes, not turning the ball over, and taking advantage soft/deep coverage in the 4th quarter. Wilson Cons- Going from his 1st read to a checkdown so quickly, and so early in the game. Payton Cons- Play designs lack creativity (failed 2pt attempt was awful). No designed QB runs to force the D to use a spy from time-to-time. No fly-sweep/shuffle pass for Mims or McLoughlin, not even a fake to keep the LB's guessing. 4 - 5 receivers all running mid to deep routes...no shallow crosser or drag route to give Wilson another option besides the RB for the checkdown.
@j.deleon_13

for his con, I think he does that bc dude has PTSD from his o-line😂 he’s trying to get the ball out quick bc he knows he doesn’t want to start running for his life. And their route concepts take too long to develop. By the time something is there he’s either on the run or throwing to someone else

That 1st clip- That LB was sliding towards the TE. Glad Russ didn't try forcing it to him. Should've had 84 run a slant...keeping that LB in the middle.
@immenseofperspectives8295
@immenseofperspectives8295 10 месяцев назад
Also about this play- All of the receivers turn for the ball at the same time, with all routes pretty much at an end. This makes half the field pointless. It's either there right away, or Russ must bounce from the pocket and improvise...receivers would have to improvise too.

Long time Seahawks fan. It was great having Wilson as our QB for years. Several years before Seattle traded him he started to think he could do it all. That he was a better coach, a better OC and the like than Carrol's staff. My "hate" not really hate but glad to see him learn some of his deficiencies with has first disaster of a season with the Broncos. For years Carrol worked around Wilson's skills. The OCs limited the play book to work within Wilson's skills. Wilson decided he was being held back and pushed the Let Wilson Cook narrative. Now he has a coach limiting again to his unique skills. All along the "hate" was about his hubris not his abilities.

Stat wise, Russ is 100% back and actually even better because he’s using his check downs more. This is a smarter more efficient Russ. Russ doesn’t have a legit TE to throw too which takes away the entire middle of the field to throw too. They’ve done a good job using RB screens to compensate for it but we have to get a legit route runner/pass catcher at TE soon. Once we have that a long with some better pass blocking, you’ll see Russ take more intermediate and deep shots. I’m sure the haters will still find something to criticize him for though
@Lovecars1218

Broncos definitely need to get more creative on offense and to capitalize more from turnovers. Like 12 forced turnovers in the last 3 games and i can’t remember a single touchdown from them. You can’t win games in this league by kicking field goals. Broncos D is stepping up again, like they did last year. Offense needs to use that elite defense to their advantage.
@bodryb_and_the_boys
@bodryb_and_the_boys 10 месяцев назад
Not that I think your not correct in saying they need to be more consistent and take advantage of the turnovers but it’s hard to agree with you saying they can’t win games in this league that way after they reek off 4 wins in a row like that.

There is still a bit of the not being completely comfortable left in Russ and it shows when he gets sacked. I think unfortunately that will never be completely gone but he definitely is more comfortable than last year. If he can get over that hesitation he may throw more picks but he will also throw more touchdowns. I think that should be Sean Payton’s main focus as of now if we want to genuinely make a playoff run not just make the playoffs.

Hey Tim, got a question for you. I feel like the broncos could be so much more explosive on offense. When the run game gets going they are doing great but when they can’t get it going they still force the run until crunch time and then Russ pushes down the field passing with ease. My question is why don’t they abandon the run earlier in the game?

@Markephillips77
@Markephillips77 10 месяцев назад
I’m just tired of the three and outs and not scoring off of turnovers. You get the ball on the 9 and you lose a yard and have to kick a field goal, that’s simply not good. I think the Browns defense is going to have a hay day on Sunday because the offense has no way to combat it. There was a play where Russ threw the ball to Jeudy for an incompletion when Mims was running wide open down the middle of the field and it would have been a touchdown. It’s like Payton and Russ simply don’t trust Mims even though early in the season he was an amazing deep threat. They aren’t even trying to throw the ball deep (over 25 yards in the air) anymore. Is it due to Russ’ arm strength failing him?

He might be clutch in the 4th quarter but for the rest of the game, he is awful. Constantly leaving the pocket for no reason which leads to missed opportunities and then you have his pressing need to just dump off the running back. He’s afraid to stay in the pocket and deliver a ball. That’s why his receivers “don’t get open.” He’s a $250M game manager.

Russ is looking better, but that’s not why y’all beat the Vikes. 2 illegal hits completely ignored for no reason is what allowed anything that game. Just be glad the media hates the Vikings for who knows what reason. Kareem Jackson got suspended for his hit, but not flag or review during the game… yea. Seems legit. And the fact that this keeps following Sean Payton… sus. Btw, if you wanna know why I say they hate the Vikes, no one said the Vikings had the longest win streak in the nfl, but as soon as they lose, they bring up that the Broncos do… yea. Go ahead and feel good while it lasts

I would not take out your anger on the broncos and it's fanbase. Like we can't control what the media says or do. But we also had our slander in the media. Like last year and this year all the talk was about russel being washed and slander his personality meanwhile deshaun Watson gets a free pass for his performance all year. Man I wished media would stop talking about us it's a double edge sword. You get the good but also the bad.
@TailicaiCorporation
@TailicaiCorporation 10 месяцев назад
@@tarukashao5691 if you read my comment I wasn’t taking anger out in the Broncos or it’s fan base??? It was the media… and yea I know enough of media hate on the Broncos as well. Just watch that play from a neutral perspective and it’s pretty blatant that it should’ve been called and reviewed real time. It’s impossible to make the NFL completely safe, but that’s an easy call to make. And when the coach is on the sideline smiling afterwards, you can’t help but start making assumptions and complaining. And you can’t say this game was an upturn for Russel Wilson… it was meh, 1 TD offensively is not usually how a team wins. Btw, you getting likes as a reply is already telling of how most people view the Vikings lol.

Been watching Russ closely since he signed with Denver. What fans notice most is that he can no longer elevate or carry a team when he’s needed, which is what he’s being paid to do. Russ’s stats come from connecting on the underneath stuff. He looks stiff and tentative most games. I believe his poor play can be attributed to the fact that he is aging out. The 2023 and 2022 versions of Russ reveal a QB in decline. He'll have moments but they are far and few. Russ's apologists and PR pros are working overtime to repair his image but his overall performance in games reveals the unvarnished truth. Denver will move on from him in the offseason.

Thanks for the great breakdown as always. I agree that Russ had a good game, especially because he secures the football and is able to get things going when it counts the most. Of course not everything was perfect and there are things we have to clean up, as you also mentioned. But in this game the run game was the much bigger issue, and also again few times penalties in most unfortunate situations. The biggest difference is, that we finally find a way to win those games, even if it was not perfect. The "old broncos" would've definitly lost that game.

I have always been a Russell Wilson fan, even though he did beat us in the SB. When it came down to it in the Vikings game, Wilson got it done and Dobbs did not. That's good enough for me. He is playing like he used to in Seattle but with, I think, a better head coach in Payton. This connection of Wilson to Sutton is freakishly good. They are a highlight after highlight show and it is not moon-balls but incredible passes to the end zone. Definitely nice to see that type of play in Denver. It has been a while so, let's all enjoy it while it happens. These are plays you can tell your grandkids about.
