Amy’s eating disorder is often overlooked but played a huge part in her downfall. Long term bulimia is deadly.

"With addiction, that's usually trying to fill a hole that was probably created in you when you were younger" All of the feels 😭
@AceofBase2024
@AceofBase2024 2 года назад
so so true. The thing we all have to realize and accept is that if you have such a hole in your heart from childhood it can never be "filled"- not with drugs, alcohol, romantic love, work success, money. A fool's errand. The real healing is the acceptance that you will always have hurt in your heart but that you can move towards serenity and peace on the inside and outside.

I think addiction happens for different reasons: Seeking adventure, excitement, fun Seeking relaxation, rest, escape Seeking to feel better because we are overworked and have messed up our hormones Seeking to feel better because we have poor nutrition but are ignorant that nutrition is important

That's bullsh*t.. In modern society lot of people don't want to take responsibility for their actions.. We all are responsible for what we choose... I lost my dad when i was 7... I have to say Russell Brand is a properly decent human being. Along with my cousin Brian, they both tried really hard to support my sister (not Amy Winehouse) through her alcohol addiction. On numerous occasions they would take her to the AA meetings and make time to talk/listen. Even though she didn't make it in the end (it happens), having the support, love and kindness from people like Russell and Brian - made all the difference to those who knew her.
@byoung8529

Really sorry to hear about your sister, but you’re so right it’s so powerful to listen and support the addict, the best you can. Even though we can be incredible frustrating. I met her in the afterlife and she was brilliant. Still full of sass, and a full personality. I watched her soul heal from this incarnation, until she was sent off to start her reincarnation training about 4 years ago. Some songs made her sad, like rehab. We weren’t to play it around her soul. Other songs she danced around us like the superstar that she was. It was magical! She was brilliant even in the afterlife. After working with her consciously for a year her soul grew exponentially, as did mine. What a wild time! When she first was introduced to us we were doing earth healings and even though she thought bullocks, spirit wanted her to work with us to grow spiritually, and she did. Yes it’s unbelievable. I was in shock and awe for a long time, but it was real. It was a glorious time of mind blowing experiences, and spiritual growth. I’ve never shared this before.... online.... but I thought some of you may like to hear that her soul was free and she took that essence, sass and humour with her. 💕💕💕☮️✌️

Yes it’s worth doing the inner work I avoided it for years years and years and suffered through probably 20 years of a hard-core opiate addiction. I kept cold turkey. I started to listen to binaural beats at night thinking that could be the most subtle thing I could possibly do. After a few weeks of sleeping with that and headphones I had a dream that the smell of death was all around me and that morning I gave my keys and access to all funds to my brother and told him not to let me leave the house for a week until I can get onto the Suboxone program. During that difficult time I listen to Russell Brand’s AudioBook his voice is attitude his encouragement his honesty. It’s truly one of the sincere reasons why I’m here today….

From the loud mouthed big brother days, because well 1 I did find his manic drama and very quick wittedness funny. Outlets recognised that he was a marmite type character. Ppl watched because he irritated them, others watched because he thrilled them. I watched because I waited for those moments where he became perfectly still and thoughtful. 4:23 - Agree 100%. Ever wondered why mass depression, anxiety, drug usage and other vices, weren't as prevelant as they are now? The key factors are technilogical, average life span, increased living standards, improved safety, security and comfort. All the aforementioned are the opposite to how we're supposed to live. We're too mentally stressed, when we're built to be physically stressed.

Sobriety is the best thing that ever happened to me. I believe we use because the reality of ourselves is too difficult to accept. But after acceptance becomes relief. Wow life can be livable, loveable and throughly enjoyable. The good thing is once substances go, everything else that you were forcing yourself to be ok with also has no space in your life. It’s incredibly freeing to have the mental clarity to really find yourself. And it only happens while sober

I think he used to speak like that especially when he sensed bulls*** in the people that spoke to him or want him to behave in a certain way, stupid people, etc. Russell has always been quicked witted and two steps ahead of most people, which I imagine must've been frustrating for him. He has learned to listen to people as well as himself in his evolution. I always try to hear what people are saying instead of how they're saying it. Otherwise, I love him!

I was an addict, and I had to take myself out of the situation to escape the addiction, if I had stayed where I was living and such I have no doubt I would still be an addict, and even had to develop the willpower to avoid future situations

100%… and I had many years sober (as I thought) however my extreme behaviours were far from being sober….spiritually sober. I now wake up each day in good spirits…both physically & in mind 🙏😈

I worked Vfest 09. It wasn't her best set. It wasn't even her best time in life. We'd had to sneak her through the back if I remember and she either lost her drugs on the way or had them taken away. ( I always thought someone close to her saw a window and took it) She didn't linger but i heard her warm up for the set as we patrolled the back. That voice was truly iconic. I always wondered about her drugs. I hoped it was a gaurdian angel moreover than a fiend. She was surrounded by great help and terrible demon fiends. Couldn't imagine that life.

Wow. Russell Brand is so articulate and can express himself so clearly that anyone can understand him. He’s really come a long way since I watched him as a kid and it shows that given the right motivation and support around you, anyone can change and become more than they expected of themselves. On a side note, I find it a little ironic how he described have a connection to nature and having a higher meaning in life yet he is not religious. Definitely need to look into his talks on religion since it would interest me on what he would have to say.
