He is in a category of his own, like Robin Williams. Very, very funny. I hope I will see him live some day. He is unique, and no one is safe!!! Love that!!! ❤❤❤😂😂😂😂😂
i saw Russel in person one day i was working at an eyeglasses store in west palm beach florida and he said he needed new ones and then was performing that night at the improv. it was my coworkers birthday and he invited both of us to his show and took care of the seats. he was such an incredible and funny dude! can’t wait till i can see him again!
@@b_rabbit You sure? I know he did more that one Comedy Now! appearance, but this feels like the late ‘90s. I mean I could totally be wrong though. Wouldn’t be the first time.
Wdym downfall from here..he became the biggest indian Comedian in the world..I mean till now he's the biggest Comedian from India....Like till 2016 17 he was around performing with Stadiums and Arenas Crowded all sold out and then he kinda retired, went on a Haitus...if you don't call that Big than what is big?....its not like fell and got less famous...he became more and more famous jeeez

Man, 2006 for me, the year I went to college. As an Indian kid who grew up in India, we didn’t really have ‘stand up’ as such back then. This guy changed my world and turned me into a comedy fiend. 😄
This set made waves in college dorm rooms in India around 2004/05/06. Students were sharing it via p2p, FTP networks, and were totally amazed at Russell's humor. I am one of those.
I swear. I saw this set at a friend's house , downloaded from LAN , after the infamous France vs Italy FIFA final , late into the night. 320 P resolution, but who cared? We were laughing our washed brown asses off!
Such a classic. Truly the set that changed his life forever. This made me fall in love with Russell and his comedy. All my friends in school also knew him and we quoted him all the time.
Watching in 2022.... this is brilliant. Proper funny, not victimising. Poking fun at a culture or race is a light year from racism and hatred. Pretty sure he could easily be cancelled in these woke, melt times
That's the piece that introduced me to Russell Peters. I was in summer school in 2007 - listening through the earphones with my classmates, cracking up. Till we got caught and yelled at. It was worth it. Good times.
Yelled at? When I was a university professor and giving my class an exam I noticed a guy with his headphones on. Hmmm. Could he possibly be cheating? I had no choice but to check and dreaded the possibility that Id have to fail him. I asked for the headphones, put them on - and it was rap music. VERY loud rap music. I handed them back. No problem. If he can focus and write an essay at the same time, more power to him. And I seem to remember that he got himself an A-.
@@brainmachine235 we were being kinda the loud crew in the back so we got heckled a little. It was summer school so materials were condensed and no time for a breather. But from what I remember he was a pretty cool teacher nonetheless. Just a little jeer and all moved along.
Truly the taping that shot Russell Peters into stardom! And well deserved! And boy does it bring back memories: was in grade 7 at the time and it was the year 2011! Good times... a friend of mine introduced me to him and those are fond memories... Since then, grew up, went half way around the world to attend college, graduated, got a prestigious job and even got married but one thing that hasn't changed is my love for this man's comedy!!! True legend!!!
Even making jokes at every culture, he knows how to make it with respect. Very intelligent and funny. The best on my opinion, love him. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
I used to say the chinese joke about getting stuck to my friend all the time, we laughed so much. Unfortunately he passed last year and when it came to that part it reminded me of those moments.. rip buddy
Its 2023 and im here getting my dose of laughter. Almost every year repeatedly, i will watch this same jokes, never fails to cheer me up. Still 1 of his best performances, never gets old.
As a white french guy, never been in touch with Indian culture, Russell made me feel like part of the Indian family. What a gem of a performance, just insanely funny !
Its a pity that French people know nothing about India except poverty n death which is in le monde, le parisien and french24. They think india is like Algeria or mali or somalia. And i live in Paris so i know this very well et je peux parler le français. French people are just obsessed by US and japan and a little by qubec
I wish we could still laugh together about our similarities and differences. Some PC people can’t /don’t want to know the difference between laughing together vs laughing at someone.
Possibly the best stand up comedy Russell Peters performed here! Got me through some really tough days back in 2005 when I first saw it on my university P2P file sharing network 😁😅
There is always something true about his humour and a genius for expressions, accents ,gestures just like the people he is impersonating .He is not mean or rude, just pure talents and makes me laugh with his momentum.
And he always makes fun of himself (and his culture) too. We were always told. Don't take yourself to seriously, live too short, humor starts with yourself if you can't laugh about yourself, you can't laugh about anyone.
Russell if you see this comment, just know this is one of the best comedy specials out there, if not, the best. I watch this on repeat and laugh every single time
…..this is the first time I saw Peter Russell too….I fell in love with his performance….especially the parental jokes….reminds me of mine even though I am Italian….😘😋💫
One of the best standup comics of all time. Love to watch him every time and laugh uncontrollably. He is probably the only Indian who loves making fun of Indian accents and is appreciated for what he does.
Ahhh... The set that announced Russell Peters! Gave us the legendary "Be a man!" And (of course) "Somebody's gonna get a hurt real bad!" rofl ... Sheer Nostalgia!
Everyone in my grade used to quote a lot of this set. It was absolutely legendary and today im 33 and its just as funny ❤. Pure comedy gold, truly gifted and skilled.
He's HILARIOUS. He even pokes fun at his own race. It's all in fun. I watch him over and over again. I laugh hard each time. I can't wait to see him on tour some day.
Russell is prolly one of my favorite comedians out there today, if not my favorite. I love how he touches on all sorts of colors, races, religions, demographics...but in a clean, clever, and respectful kind of way. He is smart, personable, and charming...a nice combo that makes him very likable on the stage. Very funny and very cool! 💜🤣💜
" Big Girl" ..... perfect. This man is a true genius. Solid laughs and groans all the way through. He is one of the best in the biz. Gangsta... Thanks for this. respect from MAINE USA
One of the best sets I've seen. Really left an impact on me and my homies at the time. Russell is such a legend. Also feels like Russell has had it with those downloading ba*t*rds 😂😂😂 n has decided to make some ad revenue money ✌🏼😎
So refreshing! As an Italian American I endorse this message!!! Russell why haven’t you performed in my city! WTF🤌🏽 MGM GRAND SPRINGFIELD please come! We have all the big names come through. I just went to Bill Burr (I took my dad for Father’s Day) and Jerry Seinfeld is coming this weekend. Please 🙏 you are hysterical
I rememeber watching way back in the day right here on RU-vid. In 2007. Watching it multiple times and dying of laughter each time. Today in 2024 I get this is my recommended list. My God, not only is this set throat and stomach hurtingly funny. But absolutely nothing in comedy is like this now, even in the past 10 years. You're literally not allowed to make jokes like this and say whatever you want. Back then we had no idea actual comedy would be made illegal and even hinting at even trying what not "approved" by society would have your life ruined. But...we have gems like this, that can never be taken away!
Russell is on another level, a global ambassador for all people, I've watched lots of his videos fro his performances to a Russian audience to middle Eastern audiences , Africans Latinos, Asians and Europeans, he is spectacular really really funny !
This is one of the funniest stand up sessions I’ve ever seen. Amazing talent and delivery. Please come to Houston Texas for a show!! I’ll be there with 50 fiends!!
Saw this when it aired luckily. Googled when he was coming to town. It was 2 weeks away during my wife and mines Birthday. Got to meet him backstage and got his autograph and had a chat. Amazing timing amazing humor and man
Russell, this is the first or one of the first comedy sets. I’ve watched all the way through as a 12 to 14-year-old kid in his bed watching this on his laptop on RU-vid back in the day and you fucking got me into comedy and I was dying laughing in bed listening to this and then I came to see your show. I forget which tour it is this is probably like 2008 in Detroit December. We had a crazy store snow storm that day, which I do remember but thank you for getting me into comedy. I have been watching all sorts of comedy geniuses since then including you Shane Gillis, Rogan Normand so many good guys so happy I stumbled upon this on early RU-vid days.
I watched this set like 10-15 times when it first came out, lol! First time I had seen him perform. I just saw him in-person at the Scotia Bank Arena in Toronto - his Act Your Age World Tour!
Unfortunately, I think his dad passed away not too long ago, (like less than a decade or so, if I'm not mistaken), but I do remember hearing something about that. There might actually be a Russell Peters biography where he either talks more about his dad, or has a conversation with him. That certainly would be amusing to see the 2 of them interacting together. I get the feeling his dad played a big part in how and why he became so funny. Their exchanges throughout his entire life would have given him more than enough material to create a hilarious comedy routine, which evidently he did, and it's definitely solid gold funny! Hope you can find more info on Russell. I'm sure it won't be a boring search of anything you'll find.✌️😎👉😂
@@allisoncolby7851 .. And his father speaks pretty well, I mean, not in the accent that Russell mimics. They were very close, apparently. I heard Russell say that in an interview.
Really enjoy his humor. No one is safe from his observations. I had never heard his stand-up before. Glad I came across him. It’s 2022 and I need to laugh about this stuff in the present environment. Thanks.
I've watched this set before, but it had been a while. I absolutely agree, and look forward to, a world of beige people. Thank-you so much for the laughs!!! ✌😎🤘
This is the first comedian who is Indian. I think Indian people are funny. I have watched all of the shows I cam find on Russell Peters. He is hysterical. I bet his parents think he is hysterical. Keep up the good work!!!
