yeah I will be honest, he really fell off, he was funnier 10-15 years ago, his stuff got real basic here. I mean making comedy based on stereotypes atleast be a bit original with it, racial steroetype jokes were already extrememly overdone years ago. Back in the day he was one of the greats though.@@dannyyang1202
I appreciate that he didnt stop telling his jokes.. His jokes were always on the edge about race.. It can either way.. but so far, he has landed them without "offending" the snowflakes
to me he's the greatest stand up ever. even though he isn't funnier than seinfeld, chappelle and pryor, his executions are brilliant. he doesn't rush it like robin wiliams, he juices every joke to its fullest. I believe he rehearses more than any other comedian.
Russell is an original.I love his comedy with the exception of the swear words. His comedy of the Caribbean and Guyana, I love as, I am from that area. I feel he knows of what he speaks.🤣🤣🤣
@@chimpuchand2004 You’re right, now that I think about it. In this performance, he’s lost a lot of weight and also, it’s the first time he mentioned having a baby son. Before, he only mentioned his daughter.
It's not uncommon for Vietnamese people to have French names, because France ruled them as a colonial power. Vietnam was known as "French Indochina" and the first Vietnam War, yes there are 2 Vietnam Wars, was fought by the Vietnamese people against the French colonial forces. That's why they still have French names and there are many French Vietnamese people living in France.
He's really good. His jokes aren't as funny as Louis CK's or Bill Burr's, but his execution is per-fect and his presence of mind and creativity insane.
FYI yes Just like the Dutch were in Indonesia for 350 yrs !!! So my older sisters spoke fluent Dutch as well as French English German as part of the language classes offered in schools Now it as more Chinese back again … !
Before you have your akash Singh and your matt rife and your Andrew Schultz doing crowd work, there was the OG Russell peters. Dude's been doing crowd work for the last 20years.
Peter's did the exact same bit with a Vietnamese man named Jean-Philippe in the Montreal Just For Laughs. I am shock that this guy was a plant by Peter's for a joke.
It's not a very common name overall in India, however, his parents were Christians in India, so understandable. About 2.5% of Indians are Christians (30m people). Francis Xavier, a Jesuit, began a mission to the lower classes of Tamil society in 1542. They have been in that land for centuries. Peters is a common last name for Christians Indian's.
