Future Hall of Fame bound point guard Russell Westbrook speaks to the media following the Clippers 130-125 OT loss to the Los Angeles Lakers. Westbrook finished the game with 24 points, 11 rebounds & 8 assists.
I watch Russ really closely and thid dude hustles like a mug. He is all over the court, playing serious defence and crashing the boards. This guy deserves a lot more credit.
@@lionelgrisbane-ud87 nephew comment. Same energy as “just don’t miss”. Some players have a knack for shooting and some don’t and make up for it in other ways. If everyone just “learned” like that then talent would be meaningless since anyone can pick up a ball and play for 20 years and suddenly be NBA ready. Dumb take
Russ is a great player, don't get me wrong. Truth is, he didn't perform as I guess he was expected to for 47 million dollars a year. The difference here is that he's just getting paid 5 million by the Clippers. One team did value him and give him the opportunity. The other is using his talent and giving him crumbs for it. Them the facts.
Sure he does when it’s good for him. Have seen him have a great time with the media and bad time. Asking a starting player if they will like being a 6th man when their replacement comes is a bad time.
He’s on it!! “I’m just gonna try my hardest” appreciate Russ and what he does. I’m just gonna forget about the trade until I see those 2, I’m not convinced.
It's funny how everybody seems to appreciate Russ now. When he was averaging a trip dub and having MVP season everybody was CONSTANTLY hating on his game. NBA fans are the worst fans ever 😂
Russ ain’t lose us shit. Bones gotta hit 4th quarter threes. PJ Tucker was not ready to play, and our centers got bullied by AD. Go watch the game before disrespecting Brodie. And also keep in mind Norm and PG fouled out when we needed them most. Stop with the BS
Brodie obviously frustrated that was tuff L..after following him for yrs he’s always like this after a Loss ain’t no process 😂this team is gon be DANGEROUS
Yep, people thought that when he went to Houston. People thought the Nets would be dangerous with KD and Kyrie. They thought they would really be dangerous with KD, Kyrie and Harden. Matter of fact they thought the clippers would be dangerous with Kawhi and PG.
Russell... you did good, my brother!🥰☀️🌟🎉 Don't let them frustrate you. Stay composed. They want to get under your skin to throw your game off. Stay the happy Russell that you are even when facing annoying contenders who like to bully ball.🙄💭🤦♀️ Lead with heart and not your emotions. They know your weaknesses, so they will attempt to push your buttons. Stay in control of you the entire game. Remember... the storm may be around you, but don't let it in you. Conquer the opposition. Rise above! You got it! Give the family my love and keep smiling! Stay happy Russell!🥰😊
Harden needs to make the most sacrifice, although they all will. Russ has got to be saying DAMN, again, just when I was getting comfortable. Would have rather seen Harden in Miami (so his ass can get some discipline with Pat Riley), but he would gotten himself dumped with the Miami nightlife. He should be watching film of Rip, Reggie and Klay, that's his game and role now IMO.
The problem is still spacing. Zu is good but this team needs a big who can hit a jumper. We've got some of the best rim runners of all time, we just need to give them the space to do it more efficiently, so they're not forcing contesed layups and bail out passes.
i swear why do we even have these interviews, every single day.. they are players, they play a game.. why do we need bother them with such a load of questions , i mean who cares ! its just silly that theres such an effort to bother them, just so they have something write..so weird
I do want to see him and harden on the floor together with PG and kawhi … I think there are some real questions/concerns there.. if it’s just him and James together I think they’ll be fine .. but Russ won’t have the ball in his hands neatly as much or James won’t .. and neither is really all the effective without the ball.. we’ll see . Best of luck .
Nah I'm seeing russ better than before without the ball. He locks in on defense, rebounds, hustle plays, sets screens guards 1-5. Harden's arrival might not affect his output tremendously. But who knows really? Just a matter of time. Coach lue has some serious rotations he has to iron out.
Why are the media members actively trying to catch him slip? That media session was malicious and it makes me understand why players are so cagey sometimes.
@@chrismiller755 bro that’s the media lol . Their job is to get good , compelling , juicy quotes so they can start problems and write their stories they do it’s with Lebron all the time
It must really suck after losing a game then probably being required to be grilled by reporters is tough. They usually have such trollish looking for drama/"scoop". It's crazy society despite being so "civilized" pits us against each other.
I must be One of the only few people that believe that James harden should come off the bench. Have him command the second unit. I just don't understand why you were messing chemistry with the starter.
The reporters asking the same damn question in 20 different ways looking for him to say something negative. These mf'er are wolves in sheep clothing. They already know that shit didn't work in Houston. Who needs to be questioned is the idiots in clippers FO that made the decision to pull the trigger on this trade. This ain't on Russ ask him about the game not about James Hardhead
They are older now and its time to get serious. You have 4 Hall of Famers in one camp right now, This has got to be the year for them. But idk man i think its still not gonna work out.
Guys like Westbrook, Kawhi, Howard,Muresan can't be 100% human. Must be 1/2 hominid look at their features. Brow ridges etc. Prehistoric man still lives...
Some of those turnovers last night kinda weren’t his fault. But he does get to excited on fast breaks and that’s usually when he gets them. He just needs to calm down a little
@@TheMastersQuartet that's the best part about russ tho, he creates multiple openings for the team throughout the game in doing this. yall just focus on the negatives though. rus "calming down" would be him on the lakers all over again. you either take him how he is or don't have him at all.
Russ' turnovers come from playing fast. Playing fast also keeps the other team focused on him and his teammates get open looks. The good definitely outweighs the bad
@@huh1387 I’m a Russ fan man please don’t put me with the Russ haters lol. I just mean by “calm down” that he goes in to fast sometime gets in sticky situations with no plan at all.
Russ got too much passion bruh, that foul he took where he was super aggressive, was too much bro, at times his passion for the game gets too high and ends up making dumb decisions, russ gotta have passion for honoring every possession, sometimes he thinks “its okay, do better on the next one” but bro, some of these TO’s and fouls is just outrageous bruh, IM A HUGE RUSS STAN btw, so take it with a grain of salt, he is a Top 5 PG imo, and DPOY candidate and all defensive 1st team this year imo
As a lakers fan, watching Russ on another team sprint down the floor, and turn the ball over twice or more in the 4th quarter of a close game against us is phenomenal television.
Y’all overthink too much , he’s played with Harden 3 times now & is actively talking to harden so ofc after a LOSS he’s not going to be thrilled he’s just locked in and ready to dominate together
Just watched PG and Lue’s postgame interviews. Way different. It’s crazy how benign questions are interpreted as attacks and “looking for negative answers, CLICKBAIT” when it comes to Westbrook. Simple premise: Hey, this will be the third time in 3 different teams you’ve played with Harden. Anything interesting to talk about with that? Nope. Cuz Westbrook and his fans think just looking in his direction is attacking him

Bruh half of them really wasn’t his fault if you watched the game. One of them was a wet spot on the floor or something. Another one was Paul George not paying attention. Turnovers always cost but with everything else he did in this game I wouldn’t say it cost the game. That 3 he hit towards the end of the fourth quarter seemed like it got us back together and we tied up. Unfortunately in overtime Paul fouled out and I don’t think we would have lost had he been in the game.
There is no way you watched that game and came away with "Russ cost them that game"....😂 First off, every loss is a team loss, every win is a team win. The main reason The Clippers lost the game was their defense wet the bed in the 3rd qtr and their offense stagnated in the 2nd and 3rd qtrs. Even with all that, the game still came down to OT which is where it was ultimately decided and The Clippers lost PG in OT. Also Norm, Bones, Zu, and Plumlee all had so so games. The Lakers 3 stars(Bron, AD, and D Lo) all played well as did The Clippers 3 stars(Kawhi, PG, and Russ) AR was a bit more productive than Bones and Wood had a more positive impact on the floor than Norm.... That is essentially the difference in the game in my view, not turnovers. The Lakers had like 10-11 turnovers in the first half and still eventually won the game. With Russell Westbrook you have to be willing to live with that frenetic energy, pace, and yes some untimely turnovers.... He can help The Clippers get to their first finals....you need do it all type warriors on the floor....and Russ is a warrior to the nth degree!
Yes and no. Harden’s bad at defense because he doesn’t put in the effort. When he puts in the effort, he’s at least a decent defender. Like, watch his early OKC games guarding Kobe.
Yeahhhhhh that’s right. Goat James, & Young Goat Reeves spanked that ass, the crypt belongs to us. Hey WestBRICK I heard the Shanghai ducks need a point guard 🤣 #lakeshow
6 turnover if he could just keep it down to 3 it would definitely help and now Harden comes and he is the second biggest turnover machine right after Westrock and none of them plays defense. Clippers lost 3 defenders and 3 players that could shot 3s for one old ass turnover machine with no defense sound about the right thing to do lmao Clipper never learn anything they had a team ready to compete and now they have destroyed the team totally
Lebron had four turnovers last night. Lebron had 5 turnovers against the magics before that. And he had 8 turnovers against the kings. So shut the F up about Russ. Since y’all love to bash Russ. I want lebron to have zero turnovers for the rest this year. Make it happen
