@@thatboy3930 I think Carr is better than Murray and Garoppolo. Herbert and Mahomes are at least as good as Stafford. The QB competition is more intense. Rams might still be the best of the eight teams though.
@@thatboy3930 NFC West? rams... ? 49ers starting a new QB. ? Seattle lost their best player.. No ? on Cardinals. Their QB is a quitter and never going anywhere.
I do think they probably did go after Wilson two weeks earlier, but I think it's because they had a two week heads up that they weren't going to get Rodgers. We only just found out about the Rodgers deal, but they probably knew what was going on weeks ago.
If you weren’t with us through the years of: Trevor Siemian Paxton Lynch Brock Osweiler Case Keenum Joe Flacco Brandon Allen Jeff Driskell Brett Rypien Kendall Hinton Drew Lock Teddy Bridgewater Don’t be with us during the Russell Wilson era Signed true Broncos fans
Seahawks were a terrible team last year. The amount of times Russ had to hold onto the ball because no one was open was ridiculous. He needed someone who could do that when the team was struggling, but it hardly ever happened .I didn’t see that improving with the current roster.
There were so many easy completions that Russ could've completed but instead he chuckedit deep. If that mindset continues in Denver, all I say is have fun paying him.
@@SeaTK610 Because the way the 9ers play football matches perfectly to how the Seahawks play. They are just a bad match up for them. Just like the Rams are a bad match up for the Seahawks.
I don't think Pat McAfee realizes that not only did Seattle get rid of Russell Wilson their best offensive player they got rid of Bobby Wagner their best defensive player I was really hoping to hear about Pat's reactions to this but I think Bobby got released after the Pat McAfee show is over with yesterday or not released but traded or wave
I’m a 70 year 49ers fan. Wilson has owned us for 10 years. Very glad we won’t have to face him two times a year any more. He’s a great player. Best of luck to him in Denver. Jimmy G’s stock will probably go up now that Rogers and Wilson are off the QB market.
@@Cooz. lol delusional. Carrs stats were very similar to Herbert. He finished 5th in yards and made the playoffs with Less around him. All 4 of them are good and have been an mvp canadate at some point in their career. It's a stacked division
As a Seahawks fan and Russ fan I’m beyond happy with this. The Relationship with Russ and Pete has been sour for a couple years now. Unfortunately it’s time to rebuild the franchise and move on. Pete is next to go after next season.
We wouldn't of traded russ is pete was gonna go... if that happens then this trade was a waste? When are these picks? if we let pete be in on deciding who we draft with these picks then he leaves whats the point? Also how can you be happy with this? This stinks. Russ is still amazing to me severely underated played great before the injury and slowly got back to form... tears bro all I got is dk and tyler now.
Yeah I think we take a rookie qb this year or next and try and run it back like our sb season. I can see Pete spending big on defense this FA with the new scheme.
Yeah gotta disagree. Got rid of your generational talent at QB, who also got you guys a Super Bowl, for an old coach? Could have built around Wilson, this makes 0 sense to me.
I wonder if this is because they liked what they saw in one of the qbs in the combine. I would imagine the broncos first rounder would be involved as the Seahawks gave up theirs to get Jamal adams. Edit: hawks got drew locke
I know it is said a lot, but a way the show manages to combine humour and energy while also delivering all the important facts is superb. Respect from the U.K. Pat, my favourite sports show.
Nah, don’t see the Raiders getting back. Honestly thought they were somewhat overrated last year, they won a few games by the skin of their teeth and still barely finished with a winning record. That’s not sustainable.
@@Eli-ss9gj Derek Carr and Russell Wilson are equally as good as each other. The media wouldnt have you believe that but go check the numbers. And Carr has more experience in the division itself obv. No chance the Broncos win anything just with this move. Bad trade. It was clearly a panic move. They couldnt let down their precious fanbase 3 years in a row in terms of bringing a free agent QB in.
@@zacwoods oh man you are going to absolutely just eat your words and best part is a year from now you'll just act like you never spammed comment sections and move on. It's possible Broncos don't make a run sure they are in a really tough division but Wilson is a difference maker for a team that hasn't had even a replacement level QB for years and there was no other way to get one? Was your suggestion to just use magic and fairy dust to summon a worth while QB? Wasn't that long ago ppl like you were bashing all over the Stafford Trade.
@@NotMyActualName_ Much of this was about longevity. It might take a year for a new QB to blend with a new team. By then Rodgers might retire just because he's a tad fickle. Nothing against his talent.
Funny how the Broncos just take other peoples HoF qbs like peyton and now russell xD Such an interesting way to build your team by ignoring the position and building assets until you are ready for a massive blockbuster deal that puts you in immediate superbowl contention
The reason Peyton & Russell went there is actually BECAUSE of how well they have drafted their positional players. If the Hawks did a better job at that, he would’ve wanted to stay.
As a Broncos fan it's true we cant deny it, but it's definitely not like we didn't try. we draft well, just not at QB. it was constant strikeouts so we had to resort to our old tactics.
As a Broncos fan, I am very very excited about this. I haven’t felt like this before a season for a while. We gonna be good! edit: wow a ton of likes and replies! thanks!
As a Denver resident and die-hard Broncos fan, I'm pumped and feel like this makes up for the past 5 years!!🤣 My whole office was going nuts when the news came out, except for the lone Seahawks fan, he wasn't too happy. It's a good day to be in Broncos Country!!
Good move by the Broncos. I figured they would try to pursue either Aaron or Russell so this news isn’t that surprising but this definitely puts them in the playoffs next season
No it doesnt. They traded half their team away and Russell isnt as good as he used to be. Its wild people dont see that the Broncos panicked and got fleeced.
@@45heisman HUH??? Noah Fant is on his way to being a star TE in the league without question and is now on a team that uses the TE more than most teams in football. AND the Haws got 2 1’s and 2 2’s for a 32 Year old QB coming off a bad injury and the worst season of his career. Im going to laugh incredibly hard if this blows up in Denver’s face like it looks like it will. I seriously think this was a fireable offense by the Broncos GM. Absolutely panicked.

As a 49ers fan I’ve always had much respect for Wilson, I May be happy he’s out of our division but I’m just as happy he’ll get a much better chance somewhere else
Yup, instead they should have gotten Russell Wilson a front line. He was sacked 427 times in the last 10 years, significantly more than any other NFL QB.

@Tony X lol i think you should watch some of the precision passing from the pro bowl minigames... russ destroyed everyone there for years and even this year. if he has time and a clean pocket he is amongst the best at least a top 3.
@@StevieD44 Thank you Doan. I hope Russ does great for you guys. But I do not think that I could not have rooted for Russell if he would have become a Raider... LOL or maybe a couple of other teams that I do not like.
🤣🤣 yeah they "almost made the playoffs" if a bunch of other teams had lost and the chain of events happened in a specific pattern. LOL in other words, Broncos realistically had no chance of making the playoffs.
Unless you look at it from the standpoint of playing better competition makes you a better team... vs playing 6 JV games like the Bills.. come playoff time their hardened teams.
I thought the Von Miller thing would be an expensive rental. The Broncos weren't going anywhere, and Miller got a second ring. I think everyone is happy.
When was the last time a SB winning QB, still playing at a an incredible level - got traded. You never ever forever never trade the QB. Too rare an asset.
I mean I agree on the surface just look at Stafford trade. But also we don't actually know the circumstances maybe it was trade Russ for something or have Russ be an absolute menace in the building snd do nothing good for the rest of his contract.
@@daveclark8337 first off super bowl mvp is a trash metric for anything. But also I mean Russ is better now than even he won the SB so it's also dumb to say a SB winning QB when really a better description is a perennial top 8 QB. Which this guy is correct those never get traded.

Haha team player? You should do some research before running your mouth about someone else’s integrity. “Wilson said he would not sign a deal after his self-imposed deadline of April 15. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Wilson will sign a record-setting four-year, $140 million contract extension, which includes a $65 million signing bonus. Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers agreed to a four-year, $134 million extension in August 2018, that topped Matt Ryan's five-year, $150 million deal with the Falcons as the highest-paying annual deal in the NFL. Wilson will earn $19 million in 2019 as he plays out the final year of the four-year, $87.6 million deal he agreed to in July 2015 and then start making an NFL record $35 million annually in his new deal starting in 2020.” Apr 2019 “Russell Wilson hasn't demanded a trade away from the Seattle Seahawks. In fact, he wants to stay with the team. That's his preference. However, if he does become available, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Wilson, who holds a full no-trade clause, would only approve a trade to four potential suitors.” Jan 2021 “Sound familiar? This is the type of leveraging Wilson and his agent Mark Rodgers deployed last offseason as trade rumors surrounded the quarterback. One year later, it appears they are following the same playbook, setting the table for another drawn out, drama-filled offseason in the Pacific Northwest. In what has become an annual charade, Wilson continued to dance around speculation about his NFL future in the closing weeks of the season as masterfully as he has dodged oncoming pass rushers for a decade. On numerous occasions, he has reiterated he would like to stay with the Seahawks, but his usage of strategically chosen verbiage that would make a politician envious has kept the door open for playing elsewhere.” - Jan 2022 Rodgers fulfilled his contract, Wilson did not.
@@cryptalsmo1649 looser I don't have time to read your 3 page story about he said she said bs. I do know Wilson has made it to a 2nd superbowl. But on your track Rogers always said it wasn't about the money, but he wanted to be the highest paid player by far. Overrated, overhyped and now way overpaid. Enjoy watching another early playoff exit ON HOME FIELD AT THAT.
I understand what the Hawks are doing, I just think they’re going to mismanage their end of the trade. There’s something off about that front off the last few years. Had to be a reason Wilson wanted a no trade clause in his contract
This means Pete (unless he wins a Superbowl this year) is probably in his last year, right? Hawks haven't had too many 1st round draft picks over the years. So if they get some early draft picks for the season after next season, they probably want some fresh ideas. Also, this is pure speculation but Wilson and his wife were trying to have another kid AND he was just getting adjusted to being part owner of the Sounders. Maybe that is why he had NTC.?
Yall have your blinders up on Rodgers. He isn't "scared" to go to the AFC west but every player would rather play the wheel of qbs in Chicago, Goff, and Cousins then Mahomes, Herbert, and Carr. Carr and Herb being miles better than Cousins. Anyone who says otherwise is lying or ignorant.
How is this a loss for the Seahawks? They got a massive haul in return and moved on from an aging qb who isn’t as good as he once was, not to mention his massive salary cap hits. There’s a reason why most qb’s on top of the market deals don’t win super bowls that often unless you’re taking a pay cut like Brady did. Using that much cap space on the qb doesn’t allow you to fill out other positions
As a Seahawks fan I'm ok with this. Load up on talent in the draft, still be rubbish for a year with Drew Lock, then pick up a decent QB the following year as the Rams started to fade away. Back in business in a couple of years. Smart rebuild
Everyone says something along the lines of a massive haul. Broncos would’ve used a 1st rd on a QB this year anyway. One of those 2nd is one they got for Von and now Von is coming back. Fant is good but not a game changer like a Kelce or Kittle. Lock is a backup. Look at it that way and it’s really not that crazy.
Yeah and their 1st and 2nd next year will be dictated by their success so if they make a run it doesn’t matter. Great trade Russ is still young in QB years.
It all depends on how much you win with him. Win a super bowl or two and it’s a great deal. Win nothing and it Seattle rebuilds to a dynasty from this and it will be compared to the Hershel Walker trade
Seahawks fan - Russ is getting slow, relies on speed he doesn’t have, overthrew a fair amount of guys last year, and holds onto the ball for far too long. Thanks for the memories but I’m ready for a new chapter. The whole Team 3 bs last year was enough for me, bye Felicia.
Good news, Seahawks fans. Considering Pat only talks about Seattle when bad news is coming out of their progrum, he’ll be talking about them a lot more now.
This is the tightest show I have seen from you guys. Glad I heard the breaking news from your show first. Legit top sports reporting and this story is a highlight episode of what is to become a respected news source. Way to go yin’s guys.
From Adam Seattle gets QB Drew Lock, TE Noah Fant, DL Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, two second-round picks and a fifth-round pick. Denver gets Russell Wilson and a fourth-round pick.
This is one of those trades that I think both teams win. Denver has everything in place for the most part to make a run, Seattle had no shot with their division and current roster. Seattle now gets pieces to try and make it work for the future and Broncos got a QB that can get them a ring.
Would Russell Wilson really approve this to go to the AFC West to face Mahomes/Herbert/Carr twice a year and deal with Burrow/Allen/(Jackson?) in the playoffs? Tough division and conference..
He was facing Stafford, Murray and Jimmy G already. Not saying they're similar QBs but that's the 2nd best group of QBs division wise in the NFL. No problem going to the best on a better team.
OMG RUSSEL WILSON IS THE MOST UNDERRATED STAR IN THE LEAGUE TODAY!!!!!!!! Broncos in the Super Bowl in the next two years!!!! Im calling it now!!!!!!!!!
They got 3 1s and 2 twos (counting fant). and still got fleeced. Masterful moves with von miller turned picks into Russel Wilson and he can come back. wow
Noah Fant was the 20th overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft ( 1-32 are considered first round picks, unless like the Patriots original picks are lost to league punishment).
Seahawks fan here. Russell Wilson will hoist another Lombardi Trophy before the Seahawks have their next winning season. This is an embarrassing travesty of a trade and I hope they pay for it dearly because the organization deserves failure for practically giving away the most iconic player in the franchise’s history.
I don't get why he wouldn't go to a team with a good offensive line. Not sure how this will work out but either way he is an elite QB and a massive upgrade over everyone that has been there since Manning left.
@@coltengerloff2173 They were ranked 19th I believe which is better then Seattle's line but it's time for Russ to have a top 10 offensive line. He would be very dangerous with a top 10 offensive line.
